i have played some odd rogue and i dont understand how you win. it feels like the deck has no way to get back up once your 3 drop gets killed, and there is no way to protect your 3 drop. i feel like the deck is to easy to knock down, and there is no way to get back up. has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
i want to climb with odd rogue in standard or wild, because i have invested dust into it, and i need something to climb with now that star aligner druid is out. does anyone else feel like odd rogue is to unstable, or that once someone plays literally any card to kill your minions then you lose?
i want to play this deck but i dont think it is working out.

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
You're playing it wrong; failing to advance with a deck as powerful as Odd Rogue is 100% attributable to player error. If I had to guess, you're not mulligan-ing properly, but it could be any number of things. Whatever the case, it's definitely you, not the deck. Perhaps post some questions regarding your play style instead of the deck itself. That would be more conducive to improving your performance.
It's vicious and easy to play. It will struggle against big armour classes but man that dagger clears a path while those high tempo minions deal major face damage. I play even shaman and if they have a one drop it's almost always lights out for me.

Put minion. Set weapon, hit. Put more minions, hit. Buff minions, hit. Remove some cards with Vilespine Slayer or even your minions, hit. Buff more and Combo sometimes to get safe and to have more time, hit. And when you are totally done with no cards draw EVERYTHING with Myra's Unstable Element, then put more minions, maybe hit.
Even this way you will lose sometimes anyway, it happens, but this deck is very good though.
Odd rogue is still very much aggro, but you still need to trade. You leverage your health pool by constantly using your dagger to remove minions. Balancing the dagger is also one of the key skills of the deck. You'll really only dagger someone's face if they just aren't playing minions and you have the mana to redagger. Deadly poison can be extra burn to finish off the match but you'll usually use this for removal. Holding a 1 drop for combo cards is important, dropping cold blood on a dire mole is often better than a hench clan thug because you want to divide up your threats. Almost any time you can connect face with a mana floating with combo activated, its probably a good time to cold blood. Building a board up for fungalmancer is very important, sometimes even if it isn't in your hand.
You want to put your opponent in a position where they want to put minions on the board, heal, and remove all at the same time but only have the mana for one and it just wont be enough.
The deck's real weakness is lack of draw, so you have to either go all in and realize an aoe means you lose (some matchups that is the correct play) or you need to try to force some AOE out while saving threats in your hand. You don't have the refill of a zoolock or odd pally but you can protect your super snowbally board with the dagger.
You protect your minions with your dagger. When possible you use minions to go face and face to kill opponent minions. You should have multiple 3-drops, which outnumber the removals the opponent has. Vicious Fledgeling is not even your strongest 3-drop, it's just a good way to bait out removal. Also, don't sacrifice your burst cards (like Leeroy, Cold Blood, etc.) early. The deck can easily do 16 burst damage around turn 7-8, which catches many opponents off-guard.
The fact you're 2 stupid 2 realize Odd Rogue has some decisions that u need 2 make during a game cumming from stupid aligner druid after u failed to realize that b4 crafting the deck instead of Even Shaman is a missplay that I'm glad u made and will 4 ever keep u in rank 20 where u belong.
why is this necessary?
to OP: some very good advice in this thread. As others have said the weapon is for the opponents minions so yours can reign free. After that it is not hard to play odd rogue.

Yeah, I suddenly started seeing this guy's posts/comments today, and I'm pretty sure my IQ has been reduced after just reading a few them. Fortunately, I just discovered that the ignore user function will prevent me from seeing any of his posts ever again. Extraordinarily useful.

you could be a little more polite in your post. sure i used to climb with a meta deck, i mean who doesnt? but that does not mean i am a idiot who only knows how to play auto pilot decks.
i know odd rogue is powerful, and i know i am playing it wrong, and the point of this thread is to get help playing it. not to complain about the fact that this deck uses brain power to play.
and btw, i have hit rank 10+ many times before star aligner and i have been playing for years.

You're trying 2 explain incredibly complicated concepts 2 him. He probably can't even tie his own shoes since the only deck on his level was star aligner druid.

Plenty of 1-drops, high-tempo turn 2 play garanteed, lots of great 3 drops, vilepine Slayer as a high tempo comeback
(and a lot of burn damage from hero power, chargers, fungalmancer, deadly poison, cold blood, SI-7 and so on)
Its a a good deck. It isnt aggro, you do need to keep board control and sometimes kill things that will take out the threats you have.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Yes, sure, it's control

I think its more of a tempo deck. You cant just go face and let your opponent kill off your threats. You have to keep the board.

It's definitely an aggro deck, but it leans more toward the top end, closer to the Mid-range category.

Keep board control with the weapon, pressure health and win turn 6-8. Imagine you are playing midrange hunter

Odd Rogue plays more like a burn deck, get some damage in, then quickly try to set up for a "big" finish, with charge, pump and direct damage tools.
Just face deathrattle hunters

I understand u have been looking 4 the stars 2 align for years 2 get 2 rank 10 and now that opportunity is gone.
U should have posted this in the salt thread.
U don't need 2 thanks me for the helpful advice.
