I guess Hearthstone players are divided into groups?
Dear OP
Some wants a cheap game and will complain when the expansions are too strong because they/we will have to buy a lot of packs.
Some wants powerful expansions that switch up the meta all the time and they will therefore complain when the expansions are cheap because there aren’t many meta-changing cards.
In conclusion: You belong in the second category who wants to spend a lot of money on the game for a fresh experience three times each year.
Actually I think it is one of the best expacs so far. Regret not preordering. Hunter and Paladin mech looks insanely fun. The only class that got horribly shafted was priest.
Yeah, the expansion didn't change much yet. Control is still op and the combo versions got even stronger, aggro got nearly no new viable tools, the new mechs are meh and instead there is now a neutral Spreading Bullshit in form of Giggling Clown, so control can stall even longer against offensive decks.
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
Well, Zoolock came through really hard because a working deck was discovered very late into witchwood, while cards like Soul Infusion and Doubling Imp were cards obviously designed to empower a "struggling" archetype.
Then there's Giggling Inventor which buffed all the Odd decks, as well as combo decks.
Also, Witchwood was fucking awful as well until the nerfs came around. Just hold on to your extra copies of Gigglin Inventor, Doubling Imp and Soul Infusion, and all will be fine
I see words in OP but what I really see is just ooga-booga me chimp brain

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.

Yet, the decks with highest winrate are still aggro decks.
You know what's OP? If a deck is strong w/o a single one of new 135 cards, it is OP. It means the meta has been introduced new toys, and many decks are refined with one or more additions, but this deck doesn't require even a single one to be stronger.
Clown is used by aggro/token decks as much it is used by control. Odd paladin, odd rogue, zoo are all super strong. Control decks are decaying slowly, every class has an aggro deck (warrior and priest don't) and OTK decks are not always viable (except MalyDruid). Set didn't change much things for sure, aggro still prevails and control players can only play warlock. Some classes ,which were control classes once, like Priest sees no play outside of some wacky combo deck, Paladin is all about summoning a bunch of 1/1's and hitting your opponent like there is no tomorrow, and warrior is still not viable.
Yet, the decks with highest winrate are still aggro decks.
Yes, on the lower ranks aggro is always the best, because there the people don't know how to play against it. If you listen to what the pros say, Druid is by far the best class at the moment.
every class has an aggro deck
Druid had an aggro deck in Standard at the moment? Cool story bro!

OP already has the 50-response cup so I guess it isn't a troll thread, I guess. Obviously, MSoG was the most damaging for the game. TGT was lackluster considering the power level of Nax and GvG. At least we got our Belcher back! (Giggling Inventor)

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Much more cards maybe have a chance if Blizzard massively nerf druid and warlock.
...besides you seem to ignore op's point. He is mad there aren't any new archetypes being pushed in this expansion and to that effect he is right...
I don't ignore op's point, I bring the reason because the new cards don't see much play.
You can't go midrange with many classes because zoo is overpowered, you can't go control with many classes because druid combos is way too powerful, the 2 classes have everything.
You mean you don’t enjoy 48% warlocks in the ladder? Or double SP, double inventor Druids? What is wrong with you?
side note: we are in the most control meta ever. It’s cute that people call their combo decks combo, but let’s be honest, it’s just a control deck with a OTK win condition. I love spending 45 minutes a game fighting taunts just as much as the next guy but I really wish this game would get some sort of relevant competition. Maybe Artifact who knows... I’m tired of Mike Donais’ bullshit
I totally agree. This is the worst moment for Hearthstone since it launches... I really hope they make it better next exp...
I'm a Legeng player and now, the meta, the cards... Is so boring, bad design, bad sinergies... It seems like fast random cards chosen cause ALL HS TEAM LEFT and they have to find a solution to upcoming exp... and that's we get...
I just enter do quest and hope to have enought gold to play free next exp. I dont want to expend more money on a prossible future dead game.
The only thing that can really change the meta is taking cards out of it. Adding cards isnt going to overnight change the meta. Mechs are just getting their true potential. These cards have 2 more years in play, and with Ungoro and Frozen Throne about to rotate out alot is going to change. Those warlock zoo decks are gonna be terrible without prince Keleseth, and a few other cards.
Yet, the decks with highest winrate are still aggro decks.

Token Druid is hearthbroken rn.
I am not saying druid is not broken. It is. I am saying control isn't strong, aggro is still better. You can't drift away from what you said in your OP to look right.
FWIW - the fifth expansion of each Standard cycle increases the available card pool by less than 15%. If "Game-Balance Yoda" designed every card, and the HS community was perfectly rational, the expected outcome of Boomsday would be that the meta-game would change by about 15% - you'd get three entirely new decks among the twenty most-played, and you'd get a handful of new cards in every other deck. Yoda doesn't design the cards, and the HS community isn't perfectly rational - but you get the idea.
So far, there are four decks among the HSReplays Top 20 which didn't exist prior to the expansion. One of the grooviest is Deathrattle Rogue, which endured community derision prior to release, as yet another failed attempt by the design team to "make Deathrattle Rogue a thing." It currently has a win-rate of almost 52%. Of the 100 most-played cards in Standard, 14 are from Boomsday (WW = 6, K&C = 19, KFT = 13, Un'Goro = 7, Evergreen = 41.)
There are other metrics for analyzing the performance of a new set, but altogether, Boomsday appears to be performing as well as should have been reasonably expected. Folks that insist that every new release should completely transform the meta-game are ignoring the maths, and blaming the designers of the game for the consequences of their own unreasonable expectations. At the end of the day, a new set is a 15% change to the meta-game.

No, the worst expansion was MSoG. Yes it changed the meta a lot, but only for the worse.
Dibbity don't touch that!

Hey, a "Worst expansion ever" thread. You don't see those very often. O_o Very original!
Can I play too? The next expansion will be...THE WORST EXPANSION EVER.
If not, then the expansion after that will be...THE WORST EXPANSION EVER.
How am I doing? Am I winning? My parents always told me I was a 'winner' ; )

It is decent expansion, I see a lot of new cards see play in ladder top decks, which was not the case in Witchwood. I'd rate it 4 of 5.
No brain - no pain.

The usual, nothing to see here, you daily dose of negativity.
psst: the power level of this expansion is huge.

where is the gavel for this man
can't agree more, very boring and super "safe" expansion.
