As much as I would love for Blizzard to be more generous with gold and rewards in general, I think people are missing the entire business argument.
1. You can say it’d benefit all new players just getting started, but it would also benefit everyone else at Blizzard’s dollar. So they’d have to set it so “new players in their first 6 months get extra gold.”
2. Brand new players are oblivious to the amount of cards they need in their collection to compete in ladder. These players are more likely to spend a little money (like $5 starter bundle and $10 here or there). And the best way to get any player to keep playing is by making them feel invested via their wallet.
I want this to happen specifically because of the "no longer stuck with 5-gold" reasoning. The extra income is nice; placating my anal need to keep it even is better lol.

Because it hasn't been changed since start/beta. And now you have more cards to craft meaning the game is harder for new players. By raising the gold from 3.33 to 5 per win you are making it less time consuming for new players. The cap of 100 gold per day stays in place - you just reach it by winning 20 games, not 30. And this is super motivating for new players since each win for them is a lot harder to achieve.
This is true but we now also get 1 free pack each week from Tavern Brawl, get free packs and cards every expansion simply by logging in, get rewarded for our highest ranks each season with golden cards, have better quests on average and soon we will have a lot better quests, get free packs when voting on Championship winners and get a lot free events such as the Fire Festival and Frost Festival. Also we are now guarenteed a legendary in the first 10 packs each expansion and can now never open duplicate legendaries.
Tavern brawl and season rewards already exist for long time, they are by no means a new addition. We got some amout of free packs every single expansion released, and the actual amout was pretty low for new expansion launches. On catacombs launch we got 3 packs for log in and 3 packs for dungeon run quests total 6 packs, on old gods launch you could get 13 packs from special quests. On other hand, this is going to be first rotation without any adventure which increases the cost A LOT. You could get whole adventure for 2800gold, compare that to expansion launch and 28packs gets you almost nothing. Also don't forget that there are now 2 class legendaries and we don't have any staple neutral legendaries like ragnaros, sylnavas and dr.boom back in the day, so building multiple decks is much harder(in standard). Getting legendary in first 10 packs is nice, but no duplicate change doesn't really affect free to play players much, because you open only few legendaries per expansion anyway. Fire and frost festival were really nice preparation for expansion launch, but we haven't got any significant events since. Hearthstone needs some permanent change to economy, and increasing minimal amout of gold from quests by 10 gold doesn't really do much.
TL;DR: there are some positive changes to hearthstone economy, but when we consider all the datails hearthstone is still getting more expensive and harder to keep up as f2p player.
....just win 3 more games if you're 5 gold short of another pack/arena entry.
Yeahhh that's not the issue though haha. I'm getting the vibe that this thread is more for OCD people, and especially for the OCD people who don't enjoy arena lol. I don't know if OP necessarily wanted it to turn out that way, but that's what it's turned into.
I hate when people throw out the term OCD as a blanket term to include all types of anal retention. That’s nowhere close to what OCD is.

Haha. Ah I'm sorry I offended you. I know that real OCD is a lot more intense and all that. I'll try to watch my words later =P
I'm not trying to sound sarcastic. I'm just trying to stay light hearted in a light hearted topic lol.

- More gold per game making it easier and less time consuming for new players
- An ability to make your total gold an even number without playing Arena
NO.
Bots would ruin HS 24/7/365 and get insane amounts of gold.
There's a limit on gold that can be earned through wins in Play mode per day. If there wasn't, that problem would exist anyway and this change wouldn't affect it.

It’s cool, man. Just raising some awareness. I have had OCD for the past 20 years, and it was a long, agonizing process conditioning my mind to not let it control me.
But more related to the topic on hand, I think they should give you more than one chance to change your daily quest. You wouldn’t believe how frustrating it is when you get multiple quests that require you to win multiple times for a class you don’t play. I can only afford to play 3, sometimes 4 classes, and it sucks wasting my daily re-roll of my quest just to get yet another Hunter quest (when I just clicked one away to get a new one). This often makes it so I can’t complete quests for a good 2-3 days until I finally get ones I can complete .

+1. Also, the average skill of the players raised by a lot since start/beta, which in the end means longer games and even less gold per hour than before. Another way to solve this would be a mode with short turn time, but that won't come for sure. So, raising the gold per win is really needed and won't do any harm at all because of the 100 gold daily cap.

You misunderstand the debate.
Skelos_bg argues that the 10gold/3wins hasn’t changed since beta.
I reveal to him what HAS changed since beta.
You say they are not new additions but that is not what we discuss. We only discuss what Blizzard has given us since beta
Why does this come up so often? Blizzard is a company not a charity. They made this game to make money. Even if your request goes through, just a month later another person will come and say "Oh hey why wouldn't we be getting 10 gold per win" and so on.
they make over 200 mln annualy, do you really think they barely break even to be so greedy, my god people on this site are so fucking stupid
It's not greedy, do you not understand what i meant? People will never be satisfied no matter how much they increase the earning per win as long as the game is not completly free to play people will complain. You obviously don't understand how buisness work. You see a big number of 200 million and you are woah they are doing great. You do realise that those 200 million are not raw cash, right? For you it may seem that 2 gold increase per quest in nothing but when you take in account 70 million players and ridicolous amount of hours people put into this game you end up with pretty big unncessary losses. But than again you saw that they are making 200 million dollars a year and you are not stupid so what do i know?
No, he did not. The point he made is simple and on spot - game requires more gold investment now than when it started/was in beta.
No no. This is what he said:
”Because it hasn't been changed since start/beta.”
I hope you get it now.
And there is always the option to quit. No one is forcing you to receive all the free stuff from Blizzard and/or paying. Maybe Blizzard should removal all gold from the game and make it 100 % pay real money.

I don't want to quit the game because I still like it, I am just sad that blizzard is constantly making it more expensive. Also making hearthstone pay to play would simply kill it, and it doesn't make any sense bacause free to play model is still most profitable.
