It is much, much cheaper to be a HS player in 2018 than it were before they gave us weekly free packs etc.
No, it is not. Reasons already stated in the thread. To maintain same win rate as before you need to invest a lot more than you acquire as F2P.
You ignorere what I wrote and decided to pin-point my words. You took half of my sentence here and there to make sure the talk was going in your direction. You lack serious skills when it comes to debating.
Please go back and read it, quote me properly and then our talk can continue. Otherwise you’re gonna have to agree with 90 % of this thread.
I had a near complete Spiteful Priest deck in about 3 days after starting a F2P account.
Good for you - you had luck with the packs. And your deck dust cost is around 3.5k, not 1.4k. And yes, a F2P player can hit rank 5 each month. But, does the majority of the F2P players perform like that? Most maybe even don't have a clue meta decks exist and just make their own.
Now, since you wanna discuss this further - start new F2P account and make a deck with 1.4k dust without using help from other sources. Then play until you farm the daily 100 gold and post here how much time it took you. Back in the days I made 30 wins with a 700 dust deck for 3 hours.
Good luck!
And does he automatically fail your test if he does not want to spend his time on a new account instead of grinding his already existing account?
I think it is time for you see realize you are not only semi-alone in your opinion but you have also been mathematically proven wrong. It is much, much cheaper to be a HS player in 2018 than it were before they gave us weekly free packs etc.
He was not proven wrong. We are getting some free things, but deck costs are higher and there are things called "rotations" :)
He was proven wrong and you can read the whole thread if you want to read it again.
And then he started ignoring the facts presented to him and only pin-point the topics he wanted to talk about.
1. There is no rotation in Wild. No cards will suddenly rotate from Wild. If you choose to ONLY play Standard then that decision is on you.
2. Decks did grow a little more expensive but not a lot. It is nothing compared to a free pack each week, better quests, soon better quests again, free pack during each Championship, free packs and cards each expansion, end of each month free golden cards etc. etc.
"Little more expensive" Plz, check cubelock / big priest / murloc paladin / spiteful priest. Then check old face hunter, patrons or handlock and say it again.
I read everything you wrote. You are wrong. By a large margin. And by declaring you won't take part in the 2 researches I suggested, you simply showed you know the real situation, but you just talk nonsense. This makes you a troll in my eyes.

I agree if you decide to pair the most expensive decks with the cheapest of decks.
However in an academic discussion you cannot twist the facts like that.
Please compare Pirate Warrior with Face Hunter if you want a serious comparison. Or Handlock with Cubelock for example. Then imagine your gold and packs income are almost doubled since early 2014.

Okay, do it... New decks are still incredibly expensive when compared to old decks :) And no, new gold income can't balance it...

You are once again making assumptions again you cannot prove. I am not a troll just because I disagree with you. Control your temper or learn how to.
I have now compared the cheap Pirate Warrior with the cheap Face Hunter and they almost cost the same amount of dust. It is about 10 or 12 % more expensive to play Pirates. However this was before they gave us free dust from Patches. Something they didn’t do back then. If you take everything into consideration then it is much, much cheaper to construct decks today. However if you want to own golden cards or full collections, then you are either fucked. Or no longer F2P.
Now. In all seriousness. Do you really want Blizzard to give you/us more free stuff? And I am not talking about a card or a pack here and there but a permanent upgrade in income like a raise? Coming up next is an upgrade to all quests. They will either be easier to complete or give you more gold = Win for the players. And the decks will not get more expensive to craft unless something drastic changes.
Isn’t the pity timer, the no-duplicate and the upgraded quests enough for you to stay in the game and keep playing it for years to come?
I have now compared the cheap Pirate Warrior with the cheap Face Hunter
You still don't get it, do you? We compare meta decks of similar win rate, not the cheapest version of each deck. Pirate warrior with pre-nerf Patches costed 5-6 times the Face hunter deck.
If we wanted to construct low win rate decks, yes, now is the better time for a F2P/new player. That was not the discussion however. You forgot completely where it started, namely: Comparison between dust acquirement, investment and time put to grind that 100 daily gold now and before. Now is a lot more harder for a new player thus OP suggestion makes total sense since it lowers the time needed for a new player to collect that 100 gold.

Blizzard would earn less money is enough con for Blizzard not to do it unfortunately
