Give up? - perhaps players could give up the notion of trying other, newer games and remain HS players. It's really the game maker's call, but it isn't like this game is getting any newer.

Why does this come up so often? Blizzard is a company not a charity. They made this game to make money. Even if your request goes through, just a month later another person will come and say "Oh hey why wouldn't we be getting 10 gold per win" and so on.
Because it hasn't been changed since start/beta. And now you have more cards to craft meaning the game is harder for new players. By raising the gold from 3.33 to 5 per win you are making it less time consuming for new players. The cap of 100 gold per day stays in place - you just reach it by winning 20 games, not 30. And this is super motivating for new players since each win for them is a lot harder to achieve.
A lot of pros for us. (pros as in ‘pros and cons’)
What do you want to give up in order to pursuade Blizzard to give us more free stuff?
2018 will see the end of adventures and the addition of 3 expansions per year. When the sets of the year of the Raven are fully released, Standard will have the most amount of Legendaries and Epics in circulation ever.
This will increase the cost of the game even for people who regularly spend money on the game.
A substantial pro for Blizzard. So by the same measure, what do you think Blizzard should "give up" to make up for the increasing cost of the game?
So OP's suggestion seems pretty fair. And Blizzard seems already of that with the recent changes they made to some quests and intent to do to more.
I do also wish there was some way to even up that 5 gold haha. So frustrating. Sell me a 3 pack bundle for 295 gold and I'd be happy haha. Even 305 gold!
Honestly though, this would be great. It barely affects anyone's income really. Casuals might get like 10 extra gold a day, and even then maybe not haha. I feel like this would change next to nothing, which is why it is a good change. A lot of elitist p2w players might fail to see what I'm talking about, but whatever, they can suck it lol.
But please, anything to fix my gold collection haha.

....just win 3 more games if you're 5 gold short of another pack/arena entry.
Yeahhh that's not the issue though haha. I'm getting the vibe that this thread is more for OCD people, and especially for the OCD people who don't enjoy arena lol. I don't know if OP necessarily wanted it to turn out that way, but that's what it's turned into.

The gain for the typical player in this fashion would be quite phenomenal, and would indeed help out the new players and the F2P players, might draw back some players who felt a disparaging gap in the time vs cost aspect of the game as well.
The counter to this however, is as stated above as well, Blizzard is in the market to make $$$ so this change would also give a break to the players who have no problem putting money into the game and would take from blizzards profits. They would find a new way to have players sink money into the game.
Blizzard does indeed make a very sizable profit as a game industry, but for those who say "it wouldn't hurt them, they make obscene profits", please take a moment to reflect. If you have never run a business yourself then you wouldn't know how their profit margins look. I ran a gaming store (table top games and such) for 11yrs had 2 store fronts and had a lot of fun with it. The last tournament I ran for MTG hosted 120 people in 2 days, at $25 per person. That's $3000, a nice pull, the catch here is it cost me $2700 to run it for 2 days. The same concept goes for blizzard, they may pull in $200 mil, but I can guarantee most of it went to expenses. So please, as you so eloquently put it, don't be one of the ("my god people on this site are so fucking stupid") crowd.

This is true but we now also get 1 free pack each week from Tavern Brawl, get free packs and cards every expansion simply by logging in, get rewarded for our highest ranks each season with golden cards, have better quests on average and soon we will have a lot better quests, get free packs when voting on Championship winners and get a lot free events such as the Fire Festival and Frost Festival. Also we are now guarenteed a legendary in the first 10 packs each expansion and can now never open duplicate legendaries.

Well sure, anything sounds good when you say it that way.

Yeah facts can be very pursuading. The counter argument is obviously the ‘3 expansions/year’ argument which is also a good argument but I believe we are not getting the bad deal here.
I would love 4 expansions/year and this change (5 gold/win)
I feel like it's largely being ignored that this is just gonna make people who play a lot richer, and sort of punish casuals. I like the added gold for some quests better as a solution.

The reasons are:
- More gold per game making it easier and less time consuming for new players
- An ability to make your total gold an even number without playing Arena

One thousand times yes. A little piece of me dies every time I look at my gold count and it ends in a 5.
Once I had to play six arena runs to finally get back to an even number.
Six!!

Cute, ineffective, but cute.
5 extra gold wont ruin Hearthstone revenue.
