Overall super cool event. It deserves his own ladder with generals from teams fighting the last day and deciding who wins, otherwise the winner will always be the one with more plebs in it. Also, bring back the HS factions for next event.
Auto-ban the most used cards in Wild for certain amount of time - that's a format that stimulates deck building and has a constantly changing meta rewarding the players with big card collection.
I agree with you hillandder, quests starting in player's opening hand are very bad design decisions. Side quests (when done properly) are fine, however.
HS had very few periods where there was actually a higher skill cap and the game was fun. Sadly the developers haven't done anything during the years to raise the skill cap with well thought game mechanics. They also haven't done anything to reward the deck builders (not deck copy-pasters) and those players with big card collections, because that would hurt their income.
The problem however is not only the greedy Blizzard management and the obeying developers, it's also the player base that continues to support the game with their wallets. And as long as that cycle (fans giving money -> management wanting more money -> devs milking game -> fans giving money -> etc) don't change, the game won't change too.
HS is pretty much like the global warming. We are all responsible for it, and everyone has to adjust, but since almost no one does it, the climate doesn't improve.
True. To add to this, I am also noticing that since an year ago this is deck related. So, when you switch decks you might start encountering stronger/weaker opponents depending on your deck win rate, not only your ladder win rate this Season.
@OP: As a general rule: If you make more than 3 losses in a row (not due to bad rng during the game) with a single deck it's almost always better to switch to another deck since obviously you are out of meta atm with this deck.
If you are a F2P player you craft cards in HS only if you aim a top 200 place. In all other cases - save the gold and dust as much as you can. The power creep in the game is insane and crafting cards is never a good choice. You can make legend with a tier 2-3 deck if you are a good player.
Winrate and orange/legendary are interchangeable in [70% winrate] Wallet Mage since it contains exactly 21 legendary cards. Looking forward to the 100% one.

I like where they are going with the Horde vs. Alliance stuff. Maybe we'll see the return of factions again in the future?

Wild has always been great, especially if you can push the ladder with tier 2 decks - nothing more pleasant than winning as the underdog.

Questlines need to go. Side quests may remain.

The big problem is they aren't innovating the game at all. They only milk it. Sad story.

With or without this change Wild is beyond broken. The power creep killed this mode.

I like it. If they don't plan to introduce turn interruption mechanics it could be done.
HS badly needs blitz mode btw.

Rope people, rope, so they add blitz mode!

7.4 orange cards per deck on average if you wonder.
Or said otherwise - 25% of deck cards are legendary.
