I usualy Emote Thank You when I finish a quest...I don't know why you get that angry when the opponent thanks you for the match...is realy something polite.
Don't really know. Usually at the start of the game, I always squelch my opponent. It's become a habit that I automatically squelch them. And I never emote at my opponent.
What triggers me are people who try to add me after they loose. I usually prepare a small sentence like "salty?", accept the request, paste it and then remove the guy from the friendlist before he can answer :) I am sure this triggers them hard XDXDXD
thats too bad, cuz when i lose a great game, i request so i can talk about the game. when u instantly prepare a rude comment like thst, you miss out on other opportunties. maybe a new HS friend, or a new insight into the game etc...
then you are the 1 out of 100 guys who do that. the other 99 will insult.

At the start of the game I usually do "Greetings" and at the end of the game "Well played" - no matter the outcome. If the opponent did the same - it's all good, if not - i dont really care what he says, so it's all good too. If he starts to emote-spam me during the game - I simply mute him. Can't get offended by something as trivial as this when I just want to have fun.

Amazes me how ppl that get triggered by emotes leave it on instead of squelching.
Having said it's crazy good when opponent thinks he is about to win and remotes a turn in advance Thanks or Well Played and u proceed to win the game. I always add them to say Karmas a bitch.
To moloch 519 - You know, still there are players like me who want only to calmly talk about the winning deck or have some questions about strategy after losing...

Sorry, I missed and clicked "Reply" instead of "Quote".
I squelch and I say 'Thank you' after winning some of my games. To make matters worse I hate it when my opponent does it if I forgot to squelch him/her.
Depends on the match, if I clearly misplayed or he played well then it seems justified. If he got really lucky and top-decked burn or something doesn't really bother me.
I've always found it interesting that people can get triggered by something as simple as the HS emotes, but that just gives you an idea of how frustrating it's to lose at card/video games I guess. Still, I find it funny that people auto squelch every single game or after a single emote from the opponent, it feels like a little overreacting to me.
I mean of course I get mad too after the guy that beats me gets all cocky and stuff but hey, hate the game not the player right? If you lose in HS it really is the fault of RNG or yourself most of the time so I find it not that important if I lose here and there. As for the people actively using or even spamming emotes, it can get a little bit obnoxious at times but for me it just makes the game more lively lol and if I end up winning all the more rewarding.
And I bet there it's also a certain "tactical" side to using/reading emotes so that is always a fun way to see it I think.
I assume he is thanking me for a well fought match. Opponents thank each other after every physical sport on the planet. They shake hands. The loser congratulates the winner. That is a normal healthy reaponse.
So when the guy who beats me emotes Thanks, I emote with Well Played.
What's the big deal?

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Indifferent. It used to bother me because 9x out of 10 you win/lose by RNG, so people who emote appear to think they won because they outplayed you by topdecking. Once you realize that HS is not meant to be a competitive game and instead based on memes it’s much more fun, win or lose.

Well, the last 4 who added me (Both after wins and losses) didnt insult at all, just wanted in-game friends i guess :)

It really depends on what you play and who you face. After conceding 50 games in a row, my Casual MMR was terrible, so I found quite a few memey opponents, who added me if they found my memeyness worthwhile.
Netdeckers vs memers very rarely end up in non-rage friend requests. Either the netdecker thinks he got robbed because his MLG top-tier pastefest got wrecked, or the memer feels robbed of the creative side Hearthstone allegedly should have.

Oh snap. I always say Hello and Thanks. But just to be polite, really. Like Hello, nice to meet you and thank you for the game.
Never thought it would be BM. Wen somebody says Greetings at the end, obviously they want to annoy you, but I want to believe and take Thanks as it is.
I think everyone has it backwards. You dont "Well Played" the loser. The loser should say "Well Played " to the winner. I always say "Thank you" if I win, and "Well Played" when I lose.
I always say well played if it was a close game, the people who say "thank you" at the end of the game are usually also the people who have been spamming all game, so they're already squelched.

I just squelch people when they exceed with the emotes, this means I never get to read the third one and I’m just fine with that.

Nothing. I play very little and always press dat squelch button before the actual game begins.

It bugs me a lot more when people emote "hello" after they win.
