I appreciate the courtesy and am happy to see that good sportsmanship still exists. WP and/or TY are polite. If you're not taking it that way the problem might just be of the pebkac variety.
If they've been spamming the whole game they should already be squelched so you never see the last one, anyway.
that they are thanking me for the game we just had, you know basic sportsmanship etiquette you guys would know if you actually had played any Physical card game at any Hobby shop?
what gets me triggered is the "Greetings", after they win the game because that word is full of sarcasm particularly if a Pirate warrior has been spamming it 3 turns ina dvance after getting a massiv elife advanage or every time they summon a minion with charge, if Blizzard nerfed charge then toxic players would have less opportunities to Bm, why don't they get that there are a Bunch of pros for nerfing charge that heavily outweight any con.
For me, iget upset when my opponent says "well played" when they are winning or have won. especially salty when they crush me in 5 turns or something and they 'well played". whats well played about getting crushed? IMO, the etiquete shpoould be the loser says well played and the winner says thank you.

How is "thank you" after a win polite?
Someone thanking you for a game . . . how is it NOT polite? Saying Thanks or GG is what people do when they've finished to acknowledge the opponent's time and effort. The outcome is irrelevant. It's good manners to say something like that, just as it is to line up and shake hands after a sports match (in any sport, ever) at most levels.
Normally I'd agree. But when you're options are "well played" and "thank you," "well played" is the polite one, the one that says GG.
"Thank you" is bad manners for "thanks for letting me beat you."

I agree with this. To me "Thank you" after the game sounds like "Thanks for sucking at this game and giving me an easy win", which always triggers me to the point I use the "Threaten" emote.

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
A BM doesn't bother me much, they are so vague at times, that I just assume they are being polite with either "Thank You" or "Well Played". The people that spam BMs, I just squelch. I rarely hit any of the BM options, I only react to the "Well Played" one, which to me feels like "Good Game".
Only thing that bothers me are the guys that barely win either by top deck or RNG, and send a friend request just to talk shit... That's really annoying. I typically talk back for a bit, and easily move on with my day. But, just the nerve of those ass munches...
I don't quite understand those saying don't respond back - it makes you equally childish. I can appreciate that that is the best route to take. But I mean if someone is intentionally trying to bother you and you simply respond back by making them feel bothered, how bad is that? For the record, I generally do try to take the high road but I mean, come on.

This is 100% subjective. Again, in most areas of life it's simply good manners to thank someone for their time. You can attach whatever meaning to it you want but that's entirely on you, not the opponent. This is why I generally don't use the emote system, though. It's completely subjective and people tend to take it in whatever way they choose.
Honestly I completely agree with AbusingKel because if one says "Thank you", the real meaning comes from the user saying it, not what the person perceiving it. If you chose to see it as salty or negative, the real problem lies with you. Clearly YOU have some issues you need to work on and stop seeing the world as such a negative place. This is the same concept has couples fighting over a text that seemed like "he or she was mad". HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU TELL SOMEONES EMOTION THROUGH A TEXT NVM AN EMOTE. You chose to see it how you chose to see it but whatever it ends up being in your mind, IT'S ON YOU.
I find it sort of bizarre that people get bent out of shape when they lose on ladder. Whatever my opponent emotes is fine, as long as they don't spam, in which case you just squelch them.
If you play 250 games in a month, you're going to lose about 100 times. Seems sort of silly to let some a-hole opponent get you all upset over something that's going to happen that often.
The more you play, the more this games messes with you. I've played HS for more than 3 years and about 30k games, and I had to stop playing for a couple months because all I did was raging after every single loss. I've never had these rage issues before in my life.
That's just because with time you find it less and less acceptable to lose, specially when you see your opponents make obvious mistakes. I know the developers like to add RNG and other elements that help new players get an advantage over experienced players when in theory, they should always be at a real disadvantage in experience. This kind of effort Blizzard makes will annoy you more and more as time passes and you see it happen over and over again. It feels really bad to play games when your opponent makes mistakes and you simply don't have the option to punish them for it.

I only get slightly triggered if it's against priest, because almost all control priest variants throughout history have relied on some rng bullshit steals as a win condition. Now with elise + shadow visions it's almost a minimum of 10 randomly generated cards but can go to upwards of 20, more than half the starting deck! And then they emote for some reason, thinking they're the special snowflake for playing against a class everyone hates. Even blizzard knows it's shitty to play against them (hint: mind control's flavor text).

I usually say "thank you" back to thank him for thanking me for losing

Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.
I think, "Oh, another bad human being trying to tilt me."

For me, it is a little reminder to instant squelch my next opponent. :)

They are lying and just trying to look nice.
Play
Gwent.
I THANK YOU
Don't really care to be honest
If you lack the emotional maturity to handle emotes, there are a lot of good PvE games out there you may find more enjoyable than HS.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Hey, I just auto squelch every single person.
