i love control decks, i am sitting on dust for a while now waiting for the meta to settle , already crafted elise day 1 and never regretted it for a second, do i craft umbra ? if not what any recommendations ?
i have the warrior/priest/warlock quests , elise , lyra, and kalimos as legendaries
I personally dislike the card and think it's not nearly as good as people think even in Wild... That being said I'm someone who's seriously thinking to spend 3200 dust on a golden Lord Jaraxxus just cause I love Handlock.. I recently crafted Tortollan Primalist just to play him in troll Decks and my list of "unusual" crafts could go on,but I've never regretted crafting any of these cards simply cause I have fun playing them.... So I think you should just ask yourself "Would I enjoy playing this card?" If the answer is yes than the card is worth your dust...
No. Everyone thought it's as good as Brann, but it's not. It's costlier than Brann, which makes it less useful, and to actually get good value out of it, you need to combo it with another good card, so that's like a 4 + 6 mana combo, which makes it a "late game" card. If it was a 3-mana card, it would've seen much more play.
I've got a different opinion than the others on this card, I think Umbra is really good. Typically for their mana cost a deathrattle will be stronger than a battlecry, because a deathrattle is delayed and your opponent can interact with it whereas a battlecry is immediate and not influenced by your opponent, so Umbra's effect is actually more valuable than Brann's in the right scenario. Does this mean Umbra is a better card than Brann? Definitely not, but the effect at times can be more valuable so the 1 extra mana isn't a big deal.
Anyone who says this card isn't batshit crazy in Wild clearly doesn't play Wild seriously, and it's certainly worth a slot in several standard decks with deathrattle-themed lists. I opened mine in a pack on day 1 but knowing what I know now I would craft it for sure.
It's a hard card to have it survive for more than 1 turn and to pull off the Combo unless you want to wait for turn 6-7 at least to Combo with a Deathrattle card right away... that'd be too slow, even in Wild.
The closest deck that this card might fit in is Deathrattle Priest in Wild, but again, even Priest hesitates to run it.
i played reno quest priest in wild up to rank 7, but had to cut umbra from my list. it's just not good enough... there is only one very strong synergy (sylvanas) and a few ones that are okay. but it's also very slow, rarely lives more than 1 turn and takes a slot you could use for a stronger card. not good enough tbh... i'd rather run a talonpriest for the same stats and a battlecry that immidiately affects the board

I disagree that deathrattles are tipically better than battlecries. Most playable deathrattles are solid sized minions with a small deathrattle (shredder/belcher/haunted creeper) and there's almost no playable small minions with great deathrattles (think Twilight Summoner, Nerubian Egg) and only a few decent sized minions with great deathrattles (Sylvanas, Voidcaller...). You don't really want to put sub-par deathrattles in the deck just because they combo well with Umbra. You also have to take into account that battlecries have a much wider spectrum of effects than deathrattles, which are mostly limited to adding cards to your hand or summoning minions. Battlecries on the other hand can deal targeted damage, instant aoe damage, Discover, buff/debuff, destroy minions ...
The real reason why deathrattles are so coveted in wild is because of the shredder/belcher/n'zoth trio but other than that, I don't see any insane Umbra combos, especially not in standard.
Umbra is great on paper, but not as much as it appears.
The problem is you can't reliably play her out of combo, because she'll be obliterated the next turn in most cases, unless the opponent is already out of steam.
And she's more expensive than Brann, so combo is not that easy, it can happen mostly in late turns.
You might want to craft it if you want to run a n'zoth priest to combo her with the 1-drops or concede/control shaman to combo her with white eyes. That's the only use I can find for her right now.
Atm i am a bit dissapointed in Umbra, it's not the impact Bran has. I would have loved the interraction with Sylvanas stayed in standard, then this baby would be a no brainer.
I really like the card and its design. I still keep it in my Wild Quest N'zoth Priest deck, but I agree with the most it is not as powerful as I thought it would be. It is not worth to craft.
Very bad card, over priced and there isn't any big dr you want to activate in standard most of the time, you need to gain at least 3/3 worth of stats for this to matter, or activate 2 things which is very hard and also doesn't win you the gane, her stats are weak fir cost aswell.

"この 先は 暗い 夜道 だけが も 知らない それでも信じて 進むんだ 星が その道 を 少し でも 照らしてくをるのを"
I crafted it only to open a dupe a week later or so. Overall, can't say its being very good.

Not yet. Maybe next expansion.

I crafted him on day 1... he is a lot of fun in egg druid and in deathrattle priest!
Btw i play wild!
Umbra is my only legendary craft so far in Un'goro. Combos very well with living mana :)
I also believe that this card is versatile enough to find spots in many decktypes to come

Dead but dreaming
For standard it a very, very slow card.
As a Priest Main i played about 150 games with her and i can say: NO
I made a mistake to craft her at the start of ungoro.....golden Version ofc ;(
3200 Dust to.....Dust

Do you like fun? Then yes. Do you like winning? Then no.
