-Lower skill requirement(good if you would like to chill out)
To sum up aggro is good for casuals that likes to play during boring classes, while being in train or before going sleep. Moreover it requires less resources gathered during playing(so it`s good for casuals that plays few games per day).
My guess is,the majority of people who play aggro originally tried to play fun or more interesting decks, got crushed by aggro repeatedly and then started using it themselves out of spite for the meta. I hate aggro, but in a way I support people playing it because it does send a message to those retards over at Team 5 and that message is "fix your fucking game". Like when UT Hunter was exactly half of all matches. If there's an exploit, I say abuse the fuck out of it until Team 5 is forced to fix it. The problem is never going to go away by asking people to please not play an obviously broken deck, because they always will eventually.
Also: there are no "slow" decks. Only slow players. Even a Priest deck can be played fast if you make quick decisions.
Err.... "slow" decks are decks that rely on high mana costed cards and minions. That's why they're called slow, because the strenght of the deck only sees effect into the lategame a few cards a turn instead of right away with many cards a turn (aggro, fast decks).
there are wa too many players with different reasons to play aggro, i'll state a few, but players could have multiple reasons.
1. they are new or on a budget and need cheap decks, i mean Blizzard has been fixing the.."New players are pidgeonholed into playing aggro" problem with C'thun and Jades since they pretty much only need 1 craftable legendary each, but Aggro is far far cheaper than that, maybe not the current iterations that use patches, Southsea captain and leeroy but as a general rule of thumb, aggro decks are the cheaper decks.
2. They may like quick games where they don't have to think, like yhatzee
3. a player may need to complete a mission and the faster way, is aggro
4. Busy people with a lot of responsibilities and time constrains might only get to play a couple of games a day, one of them might even have to be during a work break
5. they need to poo
6. this goes more with the current meta but, there are players that play just for winning without caring what deck it is and use the deck to win, if the best deck is ana ggro deck then they'll playa ggro, if the best deck is a fatigue deck then they'll play it.
7. Hearthstone isn't like most mobas where even if you Lose, you get something, in Hearthstone for the most part you get nothing when you lose, and you stack gold when you win so that encourages people to play decks that win fast. I used to play a LOT and i mean a LOT of aggro myself when i started, the reason is that the only way to get gold in hearthstone was Winning, the quests to play X cards didn't exist, nor the play a friend quest, the vast majority of quests were Win X games with X class, it encouraged people, myself included to win and win fast in order to keep up with the players that had more adquisitive capabilities.
The same reason they play mid range and control decks. Any deck get's boring after a while, so you have to switch it up to keep things interesting.
Also, if you notice, at least half the decks in casual are aggro based, even if they aren't the same tier 1 decks everyone plays on the ladder. Some of them may blur the lines between aggro and mid range, but all of them are designed to close the game out before turn 7-8, and have the potential to kill you on turn 5 with a great hand.
Had to edit my post because I was afraid some whiny player might report me for it, but that says something about my ideas about possible motives for playing aggro, doesn't it?
People play aggro because they can't think on their own. It's that simple, they play aggro because their mind simply cannot function on a higher level. That's it, it's nothing fancy about this explanation, but it's the reality

how the hell cant someone think on their own but can start a pc or mobile device. if you shoot against aggro do it good and dont argue with some bullshit.
unless you are trolling. but even then its bullshit
Chambaign is right, there is nothing wrong with his post dude.
1) It's easier to play aggro on a mobile device. I can't stand playing aggro on my PC but if I'm out and about, it's easier to just 'go face'.
2) Aggro decks are the most powerful decks right now. Why the fuck that is I have no idea, ask Blizzard. The deck archetype that offers the fastest win condition should not also be the most powerful. People like winning.
3) Some people have the attention spans of goldfish, they literally get bored playing control match ups. Note this is not the same as being too dumb to do the maths, but it's still pathetic.
Aggro is a lot of fun to play. It's fast, it frustrates people, and it wins. Headed for a loss? No problem, concede and on to the next mark. Don't hate the player (killer), hate the play.

Call me stupid, but I really like playing aggro. At least sometimes. Even back to my old (and I do mean old, as in when the game actually came out) Magic the Gathering days, it was always great fun to toy around with varying deck strategies. Aggro, Control, combo, bounce, Burn, Mana Destruction, etc., were all acceptable strategies. None was "better or worse" than the other. And I certainly wouldn't classify someone who chooses to play an aggro deck as unskilled or taking an easy way out. The beauty of these games is we all get to try various things to see what works. As long as we are enjoying the process of doing so, then it's a worthwhile venture.

Here is an opinion from a specialist.

because they're bad at hearthstone but want to feel like they're good at hearthstone.
Kaladin's RoS Set Review
Join me at Out of Cards!
First of all, I find it fun to win
Second I find it fun to collect cards (F2p player)
Aggro fulfills winning while it take me to rank 10 or 5 which helps me expand my collection with either cards or dust (season reward)
So that's why.
I will admit that others deck fells more fun.to win with, for example reno Mage (just started playing), but the games takes much longer.
I play aggro because I like murlocs and I've found it's the easiest style to use with them. I haven't played a non-aggro murloc deck in a while.

Reason to play aggro:
-cheap(usually cost less than control)
-fast games(good if you don`t have much time)
-Lower skill requirement(good if you would like to chill out)

The reward system in Hearthstone is about efficiency. EVERYTHING about it advocates aggro.
The current reward system is bad.
Its speed and summon minion hit face is the simplest tactic.
