Some people already stated all the good reasons. I can say I enjoy playing aggro sometimes and playing against aggro even more often.
For me personally the reasons are simple - it's fast, it's funny in a way with it being proactive instead of reactive, it's cheap. Sometimes there's a goal I need to accomplish like right now with golden Hunter being 50 wins away - and believe me, even with fast decks it's a grind with Hunter nowadays. That being said, it seems like I always played less popular aggro. When Hunter was in its heyday I played Shaman, for example, but when playing Hunter I played a more control midrange variant of it. Right now when Shaman and Warrior are running rampant I'm trying with Hunter...
Another thing before I finish. It is surreal how many of you always talk about skill and brains and stuff. There is an element of skill involved, no question, but some of you act like aggro is an elementary school math whereas control and/or combo is a Ph.D in nuclear physics. My most played decks, on EU server at least, right now are Aggro Hunter and Freeze Mage (both in both Wild and in Standard). Frankly, it involves the same amount of decision making for me, and Freeze Mage actually gives me better results. If I talk about mindless I would rather talk about midrange where you simply play on curve, but it also has its nuances. When playing aggro you have to consider board clears, taunts, the amount of damage you can generate in a turn or few turns, you have to understand when to push face and when to trade etc. It's rather basic thinking, but so is a vast number of decks. Miracle Rogue, Freeze Mage and similar often mentioned high-skill decks are still a child's play when talking about the mental resources spent to play them. So, yes, I'm not saying Aggro Shaman is hard to play, but even hard-to-play isn't hard to play at all if you have at least an average IQ so stop with the bullsh#t.
Broken reward structure. People play the game, not for fun, but to be efficient -- I would say most people don't even enjoy the game, really; they are addicted. They want to amass resources in a not-so-fun way so they can keep playing a game in a not-so-fun way.
Yeah it's cheap and efficient...so if you're goal is to climb the ladder it can often your best bet. I'll admit I've played aggro at times just to grind, but I don't really enjoy it as much. Sometimes I look at it as a way to build resources so I can craft the decks I really want to play. But usually I get bored after a few games. Even though my win rate might be higher with aggro, I usually return pretty quickly to decks that I actually enjoy playing.
Transparent reads, generally high level of interaction, and fewer random effects play a role for me. I don't enjoy losing a half hour game to Pyroblast from Babbling Book, several Rag hero power flips going a certain way, or even a shorter game because Quest Rogue played solitaire. I'd rather go for early board control, play around known cards that a deck is likely to run, and lose because I mistimed when to push for lethal or my opponent responded to threats in a meaningful way and shut my game plan down, with the largest contributing random effect being draws within the deck that each player has chosen to play - when I lose a game because Un'Goro pack generated a second Elise which generated Lyra which generated a Mind Control to take my biggest minion, that's when I feel most like "this is horseshit" and decide I'm going to play a deck where the game is likely to be over before the first Pack could be opened.
Because I like fast, action packed matches more than slow and boring control mirrors.
It's also said that midrange decks are normally my favorite type of decks. I only prefer aggro over midrange decks, when I am not very motivated to play a lot of HS and I want to do my quests or climb the ladder with lesser time effort.
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
i played token druid to rank 5 because spending 30 minutes to lose 1 game sucks; spending 30 minutes to go 6-2 is a lot more enjoyable. And there's more decision making than I thought there would be.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I find aggro fun to play when the meta allows, usually I go for decks that involve fun minion combos. I look at it as a different way to play Hearthstone, a 3 year old game at this point. I switch decks a lot, for the most part any deck can get stale after 200+ games.
Does anyone that plays Pirate Warrior/Aggro Druid/Secret Mage or other face decks actually enjoy playing Hearthstone? Other than the feeling of "winning" I don't understand how playing this game just to mindlessly curve out in the hopes that your opponent doesn't draw into their removal is at all satisfying. I realize that there will be some people who completely disagree with this, and I would appreciate your opinion.
In the end Hearthstone is a game, and by definition should be fun.
Then again it IS 3 A.M. and I might have no idea what I'm talking about.
Some people (like me) enjoy winning so the Tier 1 decks are the best choice for most. I personally don't play any class past 500 wins so I'm trying to win as many games as fast as possible until I have 9 golden classes and I can play whatever I want.
I don't understand how anyone can enjoy the current Mage or Priest builds which are basically draw your removal or lose.
I play the decks I want to play. Sometimes I play non-quest control warrior, and sometimes I play Hunter or aggro rogue.
When I was rank 10 this season, I wanted to get rank 5. So I sat down, played secret mage to rank 5, and switched to arena. Play whatever you want to play.
b) Decks like token druid and hybrid/midrange hunter have great WR / dust cost ratio. Not everybody has the luxury of picking whatever deck they feel like.

Because it's the cheapest kind of deck you can make.

A better question is: why not?

Because they're quick and efficient and people are rewarded for winning, not for having fun
I'm trying to get my Golden Pally (90 wins to go!) so I need to play fast fast fast. Win or concede on turn 2. GOGOGOGO
After that I'm switching to Pirate Warrior.

some aggro decks are just fun, man.
egg druid, murloc paladin, hybrid hunter, flamewaker tempo mage, quest shaman... the list goes on.
my question is are there really people who only enjoy playing one kind of deck?
Vvreeeew.
Sometimes.
