First, let me start by saying that I'm all for Priests which was my first Golden Hero (This was when you barely ever saw them on Ladder) finally getting some love from Blizzard and I don't think this card should be nerfed to the ground.
Having said that, I think most of us can agree, some changes are definitely necessary as in it's current state it's a little too strong, especially with how often it's discovered from Netherspite Historian (if anything, that discover rate needs to be tweaked).
I think a good compromise could be a 5 mana 4/5 that acts like Kabal Courier (Discover Mage, Priest or Warlock card) instead of discovering a card from the opponents deck.
I wouldn't change the body, 5/6 is fine but I would change it to discover from class cards instead of decks.
But at the same time we know than on the next rotation a lot of dragon themed cards are leaving and priest will be on an akward spot again, unless they get some good new cards. The new found vitality on priest class will be quite short lived.
In my opinion the problem with this card is that it doesn't follow the rule that other dragon synergy cards follow. The others are a bit weak for their mana cost alone, but when you hold a dragon they're a bit stronger than their mana cost. Operative doesn't do this. It's a strong card even if you don't hold a dragon, and when you do hold a dragon it's really strong. Lower its stats a point or two and it makes a bit more sense.
The card is fine. Nice to see a powerful effect attached to a vanilla minion that's not a one or two drop for once. So many cards need to be nerfed before this one. Please quit the pointless nerf threads for this card.
There isnt going to be any fucking change. They never nerfed Shamans Totem Golem and Trogg and Priest isnt even tier 1 right now. Accept it and move on.

This. This is a Game were class 1 mana Drops get 4 stat Points + upside. tunnel trogg / mana wyrm not rarely do like 9 -12 dmg of the Players 30 hp OR do like 3-6 and take a removal that costs around 2 mana. Dont get me started on Patches... Once you scale Cards with manacost in this game everything gets shit stats for huge amounts of mana. It needs to, to an extent, because they can increase the mana cost but not the Card cost, ( 1 drop or 8 drop both"cost" you one Card, but the 8 drop offers more stat value for the Card loss) but most of the time they fuck up and create unplayable bullshit. Dr. Boom, Azure Drake, Tirion, Rag for example... some call them broken / to good. I think they are some of the few correct balanced "big§ or "medium" Drops for their cost. Drakonid falls into the same boat. As Long as they keep the powerlevel of early game this huge, Cards like Drakonid are ok too.
Another non-sense thread. I will agree with the OP if they decide to nerf 4 mana 7/7 or Patches first, plus Priest ever becomes a Tier-1 class (which they are not even close).
This card does not lead to auto wins - it lead to hard decision making for the priest player and its slow... really slow already. Also, by the time you play this you already know what deck your opponent is playing and 90%+ of what cards to expect.
If you think this card is a game changer then you probably are not the greatest player around. Just no to nerfing this card.
DPriest is not the best deck right now. DPriest is not oppressive to play against. You seriously want to nerf the card that makes the archetype competitive? Why?!
Dragon priest is actually fairly competitive and can easily attain legendary with a good pilot. This card is not the reason for it's success though. Its just part of the greater synergy.
Why do low rank players think they have the right to make nerf threads? Get up to higher ranks and see what decks/classes dominate. Jade idol this, operative that. Lol, weaksauce in weak decks.
You can't nerf class cards in isolation without looking at the class itself and how it would affect overall deck balance. If a card is OP but the other cards in the deck are UP (relative to the competition), then the deck is balanced and the card shouldn't be nerfed without buffs elsewhere.
Another aspect is the design side of things, is the concept behind Operative solid? I'd argue not.
The stats are top-tier for the cost. The effect is relevant in almost every matchup and is without downsides (like how draw accelerates fatigue) to play around. The requirement is so easy it might as well not be there. On top of that it's a dragon itself. It fits in every type of deck except aggro. Overall it's too generally powerful, it doesn't offer opportunities for clever play on either part because it has no weaknesses to be considered.
That doesn't mean that there aren't more powerful cards around, just that this one happens to have few counters and creates pretty dull scenarios.
And...... another idiot makes and nerf Drakanoid Operative thread. Does this site even have mods? You could easily mop up this crap. This thread is basically worthless spam.
Hello,

I think it's fine.
It's extremely annoying to play against. But not really overpowered.
Ew man your change is quite horrendous.
I will admit that it is VERY strong, but there are other cards that should be merges before this one.
That being said, IF this one is to be changed simply making it a 4/5 or 4/4 maybe (azure drake stats) would be fair.
It would still be widely used and not too tough to remove, will retaining the strong battlecry.
It should probably be a 5/5. There's no real reason why it has to be not only good but strictly better than the vanilla 5/6.
Like. Why?
They are so bad at their job. They fail every time at the simplest tasks lol

OP is so brave to use an alternate, secondary account with all of two posts to bring up this matter.
Sorry, there are much more urgent concerns with this expansion than this minion.
Drakonid is fine as-is.

It's the best card in the game because it's a 5 mana 5/6 with: Discover one of the best cards in the game.
And you can get more than 2 in a deck with Netherspite Historian.
Card is completely fine.
