I am sick of Gothik, I have tried and tried to beat his heroic yet I have found it to be quite difficult lol
Granted, it is heroic and so I don't want just a walk in the park, however, I have found that most all decks rely on just a few cards that I don't have and I honestly find that discouraging.
This post isn't to prove a point, it was just kind of venting. Don't be a dick, if you're going to say something obvious like "Well duhh it's hard." or "Sucks to suck.", please just don't. What's the point? I already know this and it's not funny. It's quite lame and childish as this is a computer screen and a virtual insult, it means absolutely nothing and you are just wasting your time being an ass. Like I said, I just wanted to vent.
Now, if you want to be encouraging and helpful then by all means, comment away please. The two cards I have found that most all decks I have seen have been using are Sunfury Protector and Coldlight Oracle - I have neither of them, nor the dust to make them..
I believe in you strawhatmdl, don't lose hope. You'll get through this and earn what is honestly one of the lamest card backs in the game, and then never use it...
Unfortunately if you don't have Alexstrasza you're kind of SOL, at least with this deck. I managed it without a Pyroblast because I'm too cheap to craft cards only to beat bosses.
Once I really had a plan for Heroic Gothik, he was really easy. I beat him decisively on my second try with this deck, but admittedly probably my 20th+ try overall. He was a pain. He probably does require certain cards/deck composition but I took that as part of the point of Heroic bosses.
Anyway keep trying, take a break if need be. Everyone will use that card back for a season and then it'll never come up again. The Icecrown back looks awesome, I can't wait.
I beat him with a control Paladin kind of deck. Just barely too as he died by fatigue on the turn where he just needed to do 2 damage to kill me (he had it on the board, too).
Take my advice: He's hard, maybe tied for the hardest one of the first 3 wings with Noth, but don't give up hope. Luck plays a big factor, but you also need to fine tune things on your end, trade always and not go to the face unless there's nothing to trade, make him attack the minions that he himself gives you (by means of buffing and taunting them), and don't surrender until you're sure it's over (you might be surprised how quickly you can turn around). You'll get him, just keep those in mind and keep trying.
i ended up beating him with a priest deck, it took me around 30 or 40 tries though. I used a couple lightwells to help keep healed up, and they were good targets for burning up some of his spells. a lot of times he would just use the crazed alchemist to kill them though. when I got stuck with the 0/6 spectral ghosts, I would use a silence on them, and an inner fire so I could use them to my benefit. dire wolf alphas helped to get rid of some of the smaller spirits he stuck me with too. the best cards by far I found to use against him were the sea giants. I would imagine molten giants might work good too, but I didn't have any to try. with how fast the board filled up, you can play sea giants almost free after round 5 or 6. I played one giant early and was able to kill a few of his minions with it, you may need to silence a corruption to keep it alive though. then I was lucky and drew my last sea giant when he was almost out of cards, and I buffed it with defender of argus. it killed the rest of his minions he had left on its own. I never attacked his face, just traded minions all day until he ran out of cards, then killed him. just keep at him, you'll get him down. GL!
I don't remember the exact deck I used, but it was a modified freeze mage. Doomsayer of course, and I substituted some of the usual minions with Raid Leader and Stormwind Champion to activate the ghosts. Abomination for taunt. Took a few tries, because I only have one Ice Barrier and no Ice Block.
I actually liked the ghost minion mechanic a lot, I wouldn't mind cards in regular play that put minions on the opponent's board.
Like Voynich, I used a Druid deck and used the same cards that he outlined. I also threw some Nerubian Eggs, the Dire Wolf Alpha, and the Defender of Argus.
Gothik might be the hardest so far for he ramparts and draws one more card every turn, steadily taking the lead.
The problem is to destroy those negative minions on your side while staying alive. Some uses Void Terror and other Warlock sets to consume those bad ghosts. But even though you manage to build up large minions, they may still be destroyed by Corruption. So it's just not easy.

Here's my somewhat el-cheapo gothik killer.
