So if all this C'thun theme and late game plays fails we will be let down YET again with another bad expansion, and then aggro will regain again.. I don't understand why Blizzard keeps announcing bad filler cards instead of the good cards.. are those the ones that should shape the meta? C'thun cards so far have been underwhelming at best you can outtempo those cards with better effects.. so far it seems every class will get "if C'thun gets 10 attack do x" if that's it I doubt C'thun decks will take off since one powercard per deck isn't enough to justify playing vanilla minions and a "shredder"(actually a +1/+1 scarlet crusader).
The boogymonster is a JOKE.. seriously seems like Blizzard is going to do GVG all over again soe cards will be overpowered and yet release so much garbage so people feel bad oppening packs with yet another bad epic/legendary.
The epics are all terrible except Forbidden Shaping which seems decent but there are so many terrible designed cards.
2/2 weapon for 5.. even if endless seriously?
I am not saying the whole expansion is garbage but why even design cards that their ONLY purpose is to be dusted? I understand some cards need to be weak but at least make the concept of the card good..
I am also not saying it will be a failure just that if it is then it's another useless theme like inspire.
Why even make such cards? I don't understand.. DOOM! for example is a card that is questionable why it was made for warlock when Twisting Netherexists!
Yep, if they mess it up we're not only facing a new super aggro era, but also probably the death of HS.
If they fail to balance the standard mode, the game will be unplayable for 2 years, time enough for people who are already pretty tired of this game to quit once and for all.
Think about it. The current (in)balance was poor, but at least there is variety for people who just want to have fun and don't aim to play competitively. There is a ton of decks just4fun nowadays that will disappear in standard. And for those who say "well, you can still play that in wild", that's totally not true. Wild is gonna be a mess since they're not striving to fit every new standard expansion in wild. Let's face it, wild is gonna be abandoned, hence unfun to play and probably full of OP decks and lacking in variety.
Of course, this is a virtual CCG, so even if they mess it up now, it is always possible to fix the disaster. Just a matter of doing it in time.
30/130 cards spoilered and people complains and cry. Get a life until all cards are reveled plz.
I remember people saying the same thing when "The Garbage Tournament" cards were announced.Guess who was right?
The point is not that a fraction of the cards gives you a complete sight about the quality of the whole expansion, its that with standar coming and lot of good cards leaving each wasted opportunity to make a decent card hurts the game more.
Standar is going to have a reduced pool of cards so it is possible that each class ends with only 1 playable deck (and this would be a decent scenario) but it is also possible that some classes won't have even one playable deck (this has been the case for most of HS history) every bad card gets us closer to that.
Also you can't tell that you are going to be happy if you open the Boogie Monster instead of I don't know, N'zoth.
Really, I do not understand the complaints about aggro. I play control Priest, midrange Hunter, and occasionally face Hunter. They are all viable strategies that are perfectly reasonable...

I do feel like wispers, and standard format in particular, is the last chance I'm going to give the game to become fun again, but I don't feel they are doing a bad job yet. I'm not too excited by cards released so far, but I still feel they seem to be getting the balance aspect of it right, at least.
I have faith.
The fact that the epics are terrible doesn't impact the fun for me. It just means I'm not inclined to pre-purchase the expansion when I'm sitting on 3000 gold. I do wonder why though, isn't it a much better move from a business perspective to make the rarer cards, you know... good?

Nobody is saying that the new expansion will suck, we're just showing some concern about the delicate situation this game is going through.
Nobody is saying the expansion will suck? The OP pretty clearly says it's going to suck.
Nope, the OP is saying that what has been spoilered so far sucks, and I agree. If the rest of the expansion follows the same path, standard is not gonna be enjoyable to play, to say the very least.
But of course, there are a lot of new cards we still don't know anything about. The OP and I are just concerned and hope that they will be able to implement such a big change properly.

Nah, OP just says that most of the revealed cards are unnecessarily terrible (which is true)
I think people need to realize that with Naxx and GVG leaving, Hearthstone's power curve is going 'down'. We REALLY shouldn't expect cards as strong as Boom or Shredder were.
While yes, 'some' cards shown off so far have been meh, I am cautiously optimistic. I think C'thun decks will be fine, and N'Zoth will have a deck made around it, and will even be a very strong deck in Wild itself.
Threads like these are hilarious. Take a look at GvG and I bet you will find some pretty awful cards there too. Just because a couple of cards are bad, everyone seems to be panicking. N'zoth, N'zoths first mate, Undercity Huckster, Hogger 2.0, Forbidden Shaping, Forbidden Healing, C'thun and Company. These cards are all good and are only among the first 30 cards revealed and are only the cards that came to mind. I may have even missed a good card or two.
The fact of the matter is that this expansion already looks better than TGT (which is unfairly hated on btw), doesnt have to compete for deckspace against GvG and Nax, and is poised to create at least one viable new archetype while also pushing previously dead archetypes like control shaman and miracle rogue. This IS going to be a good set.
except a couple of let-downs, all the cards revealed so far have made my mind boggle with ideas for new decks to build and try out. But then again I play for the fun and not for the legend status. I understand if a player who's sole purpose in the game is to reach top 100 legend each season would be mad at the lack of insane competitive cards. I couldn't care less about that though
If all of the usuable cards are "weak", that means that the cards are just fine compared amongst each other. This is what they're trying to do to make a slower Standard.
WotOG looks to be on par with TGT power level wise so far. Its all up to if they can adjust the Classic cards correctly to match this power level.
I am a long time wh40k player, and each time GW releases something new we have the same shit storm like people crying "this is the end of this game" "we are tired" "the new minis are OP/suck" or my favorite "if they do this I will stop playing (like if somebody would actually care :)
Up to this time I thought that this was wh40k exclusive :) guess not

I complain about unplayable cards that you can detect from 2 lights years distance, and the fact that blizzard didn't think abit before making them bad and then again no buffing policy tentavle arms is an insult to intelligence..
If the rest of the WOTOG cards aren't 1-mana 15/15 charge minions that equip a 15/3 weapon with their battlecry that are exclusive to my account I'm cancelling my $15 Hearthstone sub
So far WoG has not shown anything that creates new decks. Pwople will soon realize 2 things about C'thun - it hurts to fill a deck with worse minions and C'thun will actually not win you the game.
Standard will, as far as we know now, be based on whichever classes has the strongest basic/classic sets after nerfs. I do not see every class having a tier 2 or better deck in the next meta.
+1000
That's pretty much it with the cards shown so far.

The end of the game? Seems a tad dramatic. Stop being such a Doomsayer.
Something witty.

Most of the cards have been a joke lol I understand some cards will suck but why waste it on legendary cards......
"Hello. Would you like to destroy some evil today?"

I completely disagree. Most of the card revealed so far have been MORE than just playable.
