Any sort of quest mage/freeze crap is boring and un-fun. Do not popularise it. Highlander hunter is Fierce and fun. Modify and make it work. Have fun in wild!
It's all personal preference, if you like secret mage just give it a go of you have the cards (Ice block is not required for this one). Highlander hunter and quest mage are both good decks at the moment and more than capable of reaching rank 5 and beyond.
If you're worried about spending dust on cards that will last longer. Reno has always been viable in warlock and other decks managed to make it work before that. Rexxar sort of went in and out of different meta's but hasn't always been too popular. Ice Block will also be a secure craft as different types of mage decks can run it. The Mage quest is pretty secure too imo. You can run OTK/TTK decks as well as tempo decks with it. Primordial Glyph can work in any mage deck as well. I'd say the giants are the less secure craft in terms of long term viability. Craft Reno and Ice block together and you could play Reno mage too. It's not too popular at the moment but still a pretty good deck that can get you a high rank.
The fun thing about Rexxar though, is that every game is different which is a huge bonus for me as the mage decks are usually not too diverse. So again, it's what you are looking for in a deck. Is it viability in the current meta? getting high value crafted cards that will last longer than the current meta?
Quick reference, I got rank 5 with an alternate mech based Reno Hunter, just so you know it's capable of getting at least that sweet golden epic card at the end of the season. This is again a deck that offers different situations every game. But secret mage is really good and I suppose I would find itt "cancerous" too. But if you like it... don't let anyone disencourage you form playing it!
Hope this helps you! good luck and have fun! Welcome to the wild crew!
Another thing to consider: do you prefer combo (quest mage) or control (Reno Hunter)?
As stated above: Reno is a safe craft. If you like playing control, like me, you'll almost only be left with Reno decks (at least in higher ranks).
Another advice from my personal experience: if you go for Reno Hunter, avoid basing your deck on secrets, since everybody is running tech cards because of secret mages... secret hunter is really fun, but the current meta is unfavorable.
I would probably say Reno hunter. Mage decks can get awfully boring in wild tbh. Unless it’s reno mage or casino mage.(in which case you’re gonna want to craft reno anyway :p) Personally, I love Reno Mage :) but I was lucky enough to pull basically all the legendaries for it so eh
Don't play Quest Mage bro. It is annoying and not fun. For WIld mode, don't call it Highlander Hunter. You can start calling it Reno Hunter from now. Cheers that another player is playing a superior mode.
Hey everyone!
So I finally decided to give wild a chance and found two decks that looks fun and good: Highlander Hunter and Quest Mage.
For highlander I have to craft Rexxar and Reno.
For Quest Mage I have to craft the Quest and the Giants/ice block/primordial glyph.
It's almost the same dust needed in both. So what is your pick?
(I saw secret mage too but everyone is complaining how cancer is it, so I guess it's not a good option :P)
I'm sorry for my bad english :D
