WANTED: Straight forward deck to push for legend. Still learning the game so want to practice and use a straight forward deck. My collection is pretty full. Thanks!
I've tried zoo, and aggro pally and I'm not really enjoying them.
I would suggest malygos druid in wild. Very nice and I think tier 1 now.
He's posting this for standard and he's asking for a simple deck, what the hell.
OP I highly recommend Murloc Paladin. It's very strong right now and fairly straightforward to play. It's mostly just playing good murlocs on curve and killing them through your huge board buffs.
The salt levels have already started increasing exponentially. Calm yourselves please. He asked a simple question. No need to jump down each other's throats for messing up
Op, I'd recommend a secret/burn mage. Its pretty powerful right now and not too complex
What exactly is a straight forward deck? Something not complicated that requires thinking a lot of the turns, my to go deck when people wants to push legend is always Raza priest but the deck can be rather difficult so the most straight forward decks I can think of are Tempo rogue or Murloc pally, you can look for a streamer named Boarcontrol (or at least google his decks) I think both his builds on this 2 decks are the most proper ones for the current meta to push legend.
Spiteful Drago/Combo priest is a lot of fun to play but in the mid-tier ranks 15-5 I've run into a lot of aggro, raza, and control warlock so it's a bit hard to climb with it but there is definitely a positive win rate even if it's slight
midrange hunter is always a pretty good staring place, although tempo rogue has a lot more OP potential.
However, as you have stated that you are still learning the game, I would recommend midrange hunter. This is because it is more consistent, and is a great learning experience for any new-ish player. In my opinion, for most decks (minion based), the most important thing to learn is when to trade and when to face. The best decks out there for this are midrange decks. Also, you would probably have more success with hunter than zoo because playing zoo requires not only a strong knowledge of when to trade, it also requires knowing the value of a card. Hunter doesnt really bother with that.
Thats my take anyway, learn one thing at a time, and start with hunter. However, hunter is definitelly not the BEST deck in the meta, so if you really want to climb all the way to legend its going to take dedication.
Midrange Hunter decks are an aggressive Hunter list that have a higher curve and a bigger gameplan than so-called "face Hunter", traditionally topping off with Savannah Highmane but nowadays likely include Bonemare and Corridor Creeper. Sometimes there's a singleton huge threat like The Lich King or Call of the Wild.
The last time I ran Midrange Hunter in Standard (while I was shooting for the 500 wins), this was my list. It's a bit outdated now, but shows the general idea:
Oh, one other thing: if you're just starting out, don't push for Legend. Push for rank 5, which guarantees you the golden epic and two golden commons at the end of the month. The energy and time investment required to get from rank 5 to Legend is far, far more than you expect.
The first thing that you should ask yourself before you choose a 'straight forward deck' to legend is:
Are you mindless enough.
Are you dumbing down material.
Are you face is the place type a.k.a. 'Spiky'.
Do you have a low self-esteem.
So your attitude, mentality, look towards live determents if you are going to be successful with a ' straight forward' deck. If you past that exam, if your reach the bar, if you are that good being mindless, low esteemed, and dumbed down - and really it is very hard to accomplish that - then you are ready to handle the abundant of decks that Brode provided: tempo rogue, aggro, paladin, aggro druid, highlander priest, burn mage.....
The are a lot of people playing ' straight forward ' decks and never reach legend, because they simply don't qualify. If you think this is salt...I'm dead serious. So the first question is: do you qualify?
Before you take on advice from the quoted poster you should ask yourself a few questions:
Do you like the rantings of Donald Trump. If yes you'll be right at home reading Hooghouts messages they folliw the same formula.
Do you actually care what someone who used your post to push their own flawed agenda rather than provide input to a simple question thinks?
Do you know what "Are you dumbing down material" actually means?
Essentially this is a poster to treat with a real pinch of salt as they are the Trump of Hearthpwn.
To answer your question though, I'd probably suggest midrange Hunter it's not a top end super deck but pretty solid, the play principles don't change much between releases and it gives most opponents a run for their money.

My first suggestion would be aggro pally. If you'd rather play something else, you could try tempo rogue.
Woah woah woah

I'd say secret/burn Mage, no one really expects the ice blocks and then you burning them down

Good luck on your climb!
Thank you all for your input! Not sure where that salt came from, but "wow...that escalated quickly" ha
AHAHAHAHAHAA if you're new don't play hunter lol
Corywhat exactly does a midrange hunter list consist of?

Sometimes there's a singleton huge threat like The Lich King or Call of the Wild.
The rest of the deck is a mixture of beasts like Animal Companion, Jewelled Macaw, Webspinner (in Wild), Bearshark, Golakka Crawler.... the list can vary a lot from person to person. Nearly every deck runs a duo of Kill Command, Hountmaster and a small Eaglehorn Bow package with two bows and a handful of secrets; secrets used depend on the meta but Freezing Trap and Cat Trick are the most popular.
The last time I ran Midrange Hunter in Standard (while I was shooting for the 500 wins), this was my list. It's a bit outdated now, but shows the general idea:
What rank are you now?
Please don't tell my girlfriend about my card collection...

Probably face hunter
