I voted for the Vigor cycle, but I assume they would be balanced slightly before release :P
The treant from Nature's Vigor shouldn't have taunt and Light's Vigor should add 3 damage instead of 4, fully healing a minion is in itself not useless so adding on the effect of another card that also cost 1 mana if the condition is met seems good enough imo :)
I get that the condition is a pretty difficult one, but when it's met the heal is already pretty strong in itself so adding on another effect stronger than any other 1 mana card from that class seems a bit much.
However, if they weren't overpowered when the condition was met I guess no one would play them, so maybe they are okay after all :P
What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
This dosen't feel like a competition. Cogitos submission is way better than the remaining ones.
this. I felt like the other submissions were either worded in a clunky way (like the 3rd card in the frog cycle), overcomplicated (like the unstable cycle), or simply not that interesting.
I also really liked those at first, but when I thought some about it I feel those are way imbalanced and risky to add...they would most likely be abused in a way that would make some totally broken decks.
3 mana Gorehowl, a third Death's Bite for 3 mana in Wild, 3 mana Arcanite Reaper for Pirate Warrior or 2nd Sulfuras to use the rag hero power twice and ofc also get the 4/2 weapon (maybe the battlecry wouldn't trigger tho as you technically summoned the weapon instead of playing it).
The Shaman one let you so easily have the choice between AoE or more burst readily available, in the case of AoE you might even get Elemental Destruction without overload....pretty bonkers....might not seem overpowered at first glance, but the reliability of this spell getting you exactly what you need (AoE or removal for late game, more burst for the aggressive decks) would make it much stronger than Shadow Visions or even Primordial Glyph.
The Paladin one doesn't seem overpowered at all, I wonder why it's costed at 6 mana, was it just because Blessed Champion cost 5? The reason for that is because it can be applied to a minion already in play, meaning it can attack right away. I guess you could discover Leeroy Jenkins with this if you already played that earlier, but really...that would be very rare to happen and not even that good when it did. Maybe you cost it like this due to how good it can be for the Paladin legendaries, but still...6 mana....that's quite steep, I'd think 4 mana would be enough.

Well I'm not surprised about the number of final entries this week. Don't get me wrong it was a nice and unique idea, just wished I had time to remake a different entry for the week...

My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Most votes on page, didn't make finals. Feelsbadman.
Why is that? What was your submission?
Just number of entries. Since there were only ~80 entries, we took 8 finalists. The highest entry on page 5 was 9th in score.
Ah, so you take number of entries, round it to the nearest 10, and divide it by 10 in order to get the number of Final Poll submissions? Or is there some sort of complex function here that I'm missing?

pretty sure they just take the top 10% of valid submissions to finals ;)

We generally like to go in sets of 4, and tend to round up. So ~80 or 90 entries would be 8 finalists, and then from ~100 we'd probably take 12. It's not a hard and fast rule though, since entries tie sometimes and we sometimes have wild cards.
Also sometimes depends on the format. For this competition, for example, even if we had 200 entries we'd probably only take top 12 or so, just to keep the final poll less cluttered, since there were 3 cards per entry. Whereas in a regular WCDC we'd happily take 20 finalists.

OH GOD. I just realised that I'm going to be defeated by freaking frogs ON MY OWN THEME. This is going to be the most humiliating thing I will ever experience.

Partly my fault for submitting so late in the window. The weekend got a away from me. In a perfect world the timing of a submission would not matter but I get (from the pre-season comments thread) how difficult it is to put these competitions together and how hard it would be change the way things are run. So for now I'll just say thanks again for the continuing work and I guess I'll have be more diligent about submitting in the future.
Oh, and Frogs ftw.

My vote goes to the vigor cycle. It promotes getting the most out of your minions, and just seems fun to play.
"Science isn't about why! Its about why not!"
Have Sacred Form and Sniper Form any practical difference? Paladins rarely do damage to them self outside of attacking.
Voted for accelerated cycle because it feels like something we could see in the game.
