I've been playing quite a lot of standard ladder the last few months. But I've begun to play other games - because i'm simply so tired of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. The card was nice and all when the other hero cards was around - and was completely broken af when it was at 7 mana. I became so tired of it, that I nearly don't bother to go for legend. And I must say, this nerf have really not changed anything.
The decks still play the same way and the most common control warrior deck still have 57% winrate - and 60% winrate when Dr. Boom is played. Another incredible thing is that the card is STILL kept 81% of the time! Above 80% keeprate and the card is a 9 cost. It's simply incredible. When I saw the nerf, I actually thought it was a pretty good change - but now I just think the card should have been moved to HoF. The warriors simply have too much removal with EVERY mech getting rush - they basicly don't do anything else than removing EVERYTHING you play - and if you try to flood - they'll just play one of the mass removals they got: 2 Warpaths, 2 Brawls, 1 of the Plague of Wrath orSupercollider. Ohh and I forgot the charging 4/5 deal 10 dmg to a minion.
The deck really don't offer any fun. When you see the Dr. Boom dropped, you basicly know, that if you don't have a INSANE lead already - which you don't, cuz the decks that use it have a great earlygame - you basicly just lost the game.
I'm sorry for the rant, but the card is simply so frustrating - and I actually think that my arguments is pretty fair.
It's a hard control deck that doesn't lose to combo. If you play priest or shaman control you insta lose to wrath paly or maly druid. Warrior can lose to many decks, it just breaks the meta when it beats aggro and other control. The discovery nerf makes it pretty much tier 2.
Totally agree. Playing ladder and constantly losing to boom unless you're playing 1 of maybe 2/3 specific decks is just boring. The nerf was inconsiquential in regards to giving most decks any kind of an advantage. Blast Shield 3 out of 5 turns in a row? Just bullshit. I can see why all the warrior netdeckers are going to be like 'ma Boom' because it is a fun card to play, and when you draw it generally you win, and winning feels good (even if as a player you have no creativity and don't mind gaining hollow victories where you didn't actually have to use any kind of skill to win).

Holy Wrath Paladin is favoured against Warrior but very high skill ceiling. You have to make every point of face damage count while not deviating too much from cycling through the deck. Zephrys is often key to winning this one. But yeah too much value against other Control decks considering it does anti aggro better than anything else as well.

My brother and I both got legend - and he climbed to 316 with it. Check out our guide!
My only hope of beat warrior is make a very good build for Tess then shuffle a least 8 of her in the deck.

I agree that the mana cost nerf did almost nothing, but I think we should wait and see how the change to discover affects the deck.
If it's still the same, rotating early seems like a good solution. The card is not problematic in wild at all as far as I know.
mmmm i honesrtly seen things getting better after the nerf, but I agree this card is still OP.
The worst for me is not the rush (that is still a crazy buff) but 2 of the powers. the discover mech and the 3 minibots with rush are too much.
Just fix the power with do 1 dmg to all minions or add 3 armor, or switch these two every turn, something like that.
