I put this card into my mech hunter deck and it has won me so many games in the brawliseum, but I don't see anyone else running it? The matchup against control warrior seems impossible without it, but Octosari gives you a fighting chance. Why isn't anyone else playing this card? For reference Octosari is the 8 mana 8/8 that draws you 8 cards on deathrattle.
I really wanted the card to be good when I first saw it announced, but it’s too awkward to fit where it seems to belong. It looks like a great refill for aggro but running an 8 drop can really mess with your curve, which is too important to aggressive decks. I’m thinking maybe it belongs in a fast midrange kind of deck. It being a beast interests me, but midrange Hunter doesn’t tend to run low on cards because of Master’s call. Could be very interesting to double dire frenzy a hound (or Timber Wolf with Rhino) and use this to draw a ton of them for lethal though. Maybe you are on the money with Mech Hunter, seems like a reasonable deck for it.
I think it's just a solid card not amazing but just solid in highlander and aggro decks for the refuel it provides. Lot of the time you're emptying your hand as fast as you can and an 8 mana 8/8 whilst slow has its upside of drawing 8 cards or your opponent not dealing with it because they don't want you to draw. Haven't really seen anyone running Silences in this meta (with the falloff of Mech Hunter) also has some meme potential in a Treachery Warlock kinda deck in Wild. I mean in theory practically any deck could run Nomi now with Octosari.
You don't see it too much because the meta atm is defined by control warrior and drawing cards is usually a downside in that matchup. That said I put it in a few aggro decks and its been pretty good - most of the times it's either you let me fill my hand or you die.
The card show truly real problems when you build the deck.
If you put him of course you don't use any other draw engine or many high cost cards because the huge risk of overdraw, the problem is, if you only run fast and cheap cards what happens when you don't draw him? Or when he is silenced or transformed? Put x2 or x3 less dramatic draw engine but without many problems is a much more reliable strategy.
I thing if was epic and you can run x2 of him will be much more easier to make work.

Really Good in aggressive deck. Maybe Nomi as well :)

Should had been a 8 mana 10/4 deathrattle: draw 5 cards.
sorry to necro this thread but since i've opened this it has been collecting dust in my collection.
I really wonder if anyone has found a non agro non OTK combo deck for this card.
possibilities might be infinite decks suchs as Jade druid or astral tiger druid.
Perhaps dead mans hand warrior?
Or maybe a shudderwock/quest shaman that plays a lot of low cost minions?
Then the ultimate troll: treachery warlock?
PSA: Octosari is really good in arena. Like, better than Deathwing levels of good.
Just because you don't see it played doesn't mean it's not in the deck.
Many strong, competitive decks use Octosari.

It's amazing in Singleton Paladin.
