I have played against the Shudderwock combo twice today. Both times, my opponent cast Shudderwock, but did not follow up, and the combo fizzled out after they cast it the first time.
Did my opponent make a mistake, or is it possible that the battlecries will order themselves in such a way that the combo doesn't work?
Yeah if Grumble, Worldshaker activates before Shudderwock gets duplicated, the combo fizzles UNLESS your opponent/you are smart enough to play a discounted Murmuring Elemental then Shudderwock, which unless you are playing board clear battlecries or things that sacrifice nearby creatures, then you will get back one back guaranteed.
This part is the nail in the coffin for the deck in my opinion since it either requires you to discount the elemental with grumble or to go and use Fire Plume Harbinger to discount the murmuring once, which adds more required draw rng and is often the last part to happen when assembling the combo.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
One additional question please: How does Zola the Gorgon work in this deck? I played the card a few times in different games before I played Shudderwock but Shudderwock didn't copy himself as a golden version in my hand. What am I doing wrong?
if there is only one shudderwock on battlefield and the battlecry of zola triggers the shudder (THAT CASTED THE BATTLECRY)can't add a copy of himself in the hand. Think of it as playing solely zola. she can't target herself. So in this case. Shudderwock tries to copy ANOTHER friendly minion other than himself and there is NO OTHER minion!
That's also why it's important to run two Saronites and play both before Shudderwock. It increases the odds that at least one will happen before grumble.

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
I started to play this deck recently... More to learn how it operates rather than for actual fun. I had a quick question... If you play all your battlecries and then you play shudderwock with plenty of room left in your hand... And grumble and zola battlecries go off before your saronites do... and your opponent clears your board of shudderwocks, is that just really bad luck and then it's GG, or am I missing something? Pretty sure it's GG but like I said i'm not really experienced with this deck and I'd appreciate insight.
First off, why did you necro a month old thread. Next time you have a question like this, just post it in a new thread.
As for the question, yeah it's just being unlucky. The deck used to run a Murmuring Elemental in order to go and guarantee you get some Shudderwocks back in your hand. The deck doesn't do that anymore since the chance is pretty small and running things like Zola alongside of Grumble helps make it rare.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That explains a lot. :)
Anyway, what do I know...
Yeah anytime.
