when did they make it, 'clear,' that they didnt' want effects that mess with your opponents' deck? They have certainly printed deck hate cards in the past, lol. ya sound pretty salty for a card that hasn't even been released yet.
Next up = Control oriented Warlock DK hero power will be "Discover a card that was discarded this game." and you can play the card from your opponent's deck yourself and really tilt them.
This is not actually real (yet), but it's what i am expecting at this point.

I wish the card was "Shuffle the topmost card of your opponent's deck to the bottom." That would be better, since many decks rely on specific cards. I have a Dragon Paladin who solely relies on buffing up his hand, which should be full of dragons, then playing Deathwing, Dragonlord, and following that up with getting him killed, summoning countless dragons from the weakest 4/5 to the strongest 7/11. If that deck lost Deathwing, it'd be game over.
People crying because one card that just discard 1 card ... you should take a look in MTG guys, there is decks made it just around this mechanic they control you and discard things from your hand and deck, seriously don't even complain about this card when Milling rogue does exactly the same thing to you.... burn = discard from your deck and its is how they kill you. just a good card and I hope at some point lock can builds decks around discard mechanic from your opponent instead of discard your things.
so this card is actually quite good. it is a 2 drop that can get value later in the game and it has an effect that is actually pretty complex. Most people are just looking at what this does to control and combo, if it gets lucky it destroys their endgame strategy, but more interesting to me is the ability to destroy the on curve card the enemy hope to draw, or a board clear. Most decks chose to put cards in because they are good, and ensuring the opponent does not draw a good card is useful. The stats are vanilla so I think that their might be a deck willing to run this, if warlock gets back on it's feet. BloomDoom I don't think would run this but it might, maybe discolock in a more controlling style will but I am still unsure of that deck. I don't really get peoples reactions to this card though. When you are playing a deck this is like having the card put on the bottom unless the warlock takes you to fatigue, in which case you probably either win because warlock draws so much, or lose because of jarraxus anyway so really this cards effect is more of an inconvenience if you are control, and it's power comes in against decks that don't go that long, because it more deeply limits their gameplan.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Your point is partially wrong: Dirty Rat pulls a minion from hand, not the last card of the deck. It is, however, equivalent to Deathlord's effect (minus the Minion tag), which is also only relevant if the entire deck is drawn.
But that's the thing: It's all a "Schrödinger's cat" situation.
In my perspective, they may or may not have the combo pieces in hand. The only way of knowing is by "opening the box". And the only ways to make this happen is playing specific cards, or the opponent revealing the combo.
That way, both Dirty Rat and Deathlord operates as means to open this box, just like this new card.
Of course the mechanic is different, and this new card is the worst in terms of probabilities, but they have the same pourpose for this experiment.

Shuffling the card to the bottom of the deck is literally 2 mana 2/3 do nothing. It might as well have been there anyway since Hearthstone doesn't utilize deck manipulation tools. As is right now, the effect isn't all that strong. The likelihood of burning your deathwing are really low and are the same exact chances of you have deathwing on the bottom of your deck and ruining the combo anyway.
Against Exodia mage It's is definitely better to use Dirty Rat. I've played a good bit of the deck and can tell you that by the mid-game you are almost guaranteed to have a combo minion in your hand. In my opinion, Dirty Rat is objectively better vs that deck. Against spell combo decks like combo priest Dirty Rat obviously isnt as good as it cant get rid of spells. In that case Gnomish Vampire would be better, but therein lies the issue. Spell focused Deck. The are no legendary spells atm (Unless you count quests which you will never burn with this as they start in your hand) which means even if you do burn a combo piece instead of getting them closer to one, they still have another copy of it in their deck.

Fair enough. We'll see, maybe I'm just overthinking it.
I don't actually think it's good. I just hate it because it is uninteractive bullshit that goes against previously stated design philosophy and will sometimes be absurdly annoying to have played against you. And don't bring up dirty rat or that naxx taunt, I am marginally OK with them but this is a large skid further down the slippery slope.
The card is horrible against combo, it'll more often than not put your opponent one card deeper towards their pieces.
I wouldn't say that it is horrible against combo (it's ok against combo decks like quest mage), but it certainly isn't good enough to justify as your only tech card against the archetype.
I knew myself from the start this card is great....against combo or even control sometime. But clearly against decks like agro its effect is not that impact-full. Tho honestly for such ability I at least think the card should be stated 2/2 at most. And I'm REALLY GLAD IT'S NOT A DEMON. Getting that from random effects and added to hand would be....disgusting.
This card seems to be stirring up a lot of discussion today. In order to avoid several threads discussing the same card, the additional threads have all been merged with this one. Let's keep all the opinions and information in a central place for now, until the massive reveal hype dies down. Thanks :)

There's already a discussion thread for this card. Lets not make another so soon after it's reveal.
New Warlock Card Revealed - Gnomish Vampire
Locked.
So glad I quit. Came by today to see the state of the game, oh look, a card that validates agro.

What possible other interpretation is there for the text?

this card is so evil.
I know it's not going to be practical, yet I know i'm going to be pissed off by it.
This is insane! Will likely be in every Warlock deck if Warlock is a thing
