Thank you for reminding on why I've been avoiding this community for the most part.
Not my fault you can't handle differing opinions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I respect your opinion, though I am a bit curious to why you think this card is flaming garbage. I was under the impression that it was pretty good.
I understand why people think of it as a good card. But, you have to draw the pack, and if you don't, then it's just a 5 5/5.
Now I know that alone is not a good enough to consider a bad card, but I don't think the reward is that good. Sure, 5 cards with no draw from the deck is very good, but what I think most people are forgetting just how many sub-par and filler cards there are in an expansion.
Again, I see why people think it's great, but I see it as too rng to be anywhere near consistent. This really just strikes me as a fun card.
Hmm I see your point. However, I still think that even adding 5 garbage cards to your hand for free is at the very least good. Even Toshley was playable, and I would definitely say that a spare part is worse than an average card. That being said, Whalen did say that they increased the rarity chance, so at the very least you get an epic, though on average you get 1 legendary. I think that certainly elevates this card to very good. As for the fact that it gets shuffled into your deck, a reasonable control deck has a significant chance of completing that requirement, coming from someone who plays a Reincarnate shaman with White Eyes.
Of course you might be completely right on this, and maybe a 5 mana 10/10 taunt is better than 5 random Un'Goro cards, even with the rarity increase.
But this card is not good in a vacuum. Its a 5/5 body for 5 with no effect on the board. You need a deck capable of drawing 20+ cards before consistently pulling the pack out and getting value out of it. Even then there is potential to get a terrible pack (IE nothing but quest cards or bad epics). Consider that most decks that ran Elise relied on either mill (Not at all good) or it was used to counter other control decks. There is no need for this card as A) it doesn't counter control nearly as well as Elise did and B) If you want to counter control you run jade druid.
Your comparisons are also unfair, its much safer to compare it the original elise as the effects are mostly the same and the cost close enough. Elise even with the better statline, stronger effect and no hard counter(jade druid) required a deck centered around it to see use. Actually getting elises effect won you the control matchup by converting bad late game cards to good ones. Thus it served to beat other control decks which were popular at the time. It also got you a good late game body to dump on the board.
This won't win you matches against control as the cards you get a far more random and with way more late game "duds". Its a tech card at best a gimmick card at worst. Unless the meta shifts to heavy control (unlikely due to jades) this card is simply not good.
I still think EliseTT is a better comparison to Nefarian than to EliseS. I think the Ungoro pack is a lot more like a Nefarian pull, Raffam artifact, or Ysera dream than an EliseS transformation (the Moneky effect is really like nothing else), even if both Elise versions work after delays. However, I take the point that the control-vs-control value might be lower than I'm expecting.
Still, I think there's more hope for deckbuilding with EliseTT. Control isn't played just to fight control, but often to fight aggro. A strongly anti-aggro control deck, like a control warrior, might have room for this. You could perhaps run Second-Rate Bruiser, which is better against aggro, not particularly different against Jade, and worse against control. While technically you could run something like Cairne or Ysera, you wouldn't because they're so much worse against anything other than control decks. I think EliseTT may well fit into a sweet spot where it improves the control matchup, and a "5/5 for 5, do nothing" won't be that much worse than the marginal card against aggro and jade decks. As the marginal card, I think it may well be an overall statistical improvement to win rates.
This card is flat out bad against aggro, if you are playing this against aggro you are literally handing them a free turn which will likely cost you the game on turn 6/7. Do you really think aggro decks are going to attempt to kill a vanilla 5/5 on turn 6 when you are at ~10 health? Against aggro your turn 5 is likely going to be aoeing or trying to stabilze as they run out of steam. A 5/5 against aggro will kill only one minion and likely not even get the full value out of its attack. If you play it on turn 8 or more, you've likely already won anyway, so it didn't matter.
Against mid-range this card is weak, as this card only really fits control, you likely won't have board control on turn 5. This means the mid-range player will be able to solidify the board even more on turn 6 and likely snowball the game to a victory. For both mid-range and aggro the probability of drawing both elise and the card pack are very very low. If you do manage to draw it and make use of the cards, you've already won anyways. On average you aren't getting the card pack in till at least your 20th card, how many mid-range/aggro decks hope to kill you on turn 14?
This card is good, maybe even great for a control deck to tech against control, but an absolute dead card against aggro and mid-range and jade and tempo. What made Elise work was the fact it came early enough to help against aggro/mid-range so that it wasn't a dead card. If this was a 4 mana 4/4 it would be much more appealing. I mean look at the cards you mentioned, why are they not used if they are such powerhouse effects? It's because they are dead against fast decks. A card like Second-rate Bruiser works because it can still be played against control, a 5 mana 4/5 is bad value, but at some point you will have 5 mana left over to play it.
I will note thought, if a control meta occurs where there is an abundance of control decks that play close to fatigue, this card will be very popular. I don't think this will occur in till a nerf or counter card is created for jade golems.
Yeah the stats are nice actually ,not a huge drawback . The downside is that you have to survive to get real value out of the pack ,but thank god its delayed otherwise it would be a autoinclude for aggro decks . :)
Should see play in control decks.. It can easily generate a win condition.. Think about the cabalist tome effect.. Generally speaking mage spells are mostly decent, and there will surely be some terrible ungoro cards.. But you get 5 of them.. You're going to at least get value in a control matchup..
Not great against aggro/midrange.. But control decks often have cards like that.. And a 5 mana 5/5 is pretty good if you be already stabilized..
EDIT: Also going to be fun playing in wild with both Elise's
I don't see this card for controls, how often do you have room to draw 5 cards when playing control? Are you going to dump the removal in your hand to be able to draw 5 RNG cards? Seems like a fun card more than anything.
That is another aleatory card and I don't like it honestly. Maybe we can have a better drop 5 instead of Elise, so I think we should wait for other cards
This is similar to her other card in the sense that it will only be beneficial to decks that expect to draw most of their cards before the game is over. The randomness of the cards generated is a downside, but the fact that you get 5 of them for 2 mana is a huge upside. I think this will probably be included in most control/fatigue decks.

I think a lot of those posts were made before people understood how the card works.
As a 5-mana 5/5 that gives you massive card draw on a later turn, this is actually excellent for midrange.

I was unaware of this. That certainly changes my opinion a bit.

Why so many people vote "Very Good"? This card is bad. I like Elise Starseeker which wins control machups. But this card doesn't bring legendaries, just random cads. This card is playable but not cool. Don't wanna get fatigue too soon? Play shit jade druid LUL

The pack does bring at least one epic and usually a legendary if I remember correctly, it's better than your average pack. This card is obviously good for control decks looking for value, also pretty fucking nuts with the Mage quest if you don't want to run the new cards (this card alone completes the quest).
The mage quest requires spells and the pack can give you minions, so it won't be like that most of the time. But can help you out if you're missing 2 or 3.
The word "sealed" has no business on this card. Why are they so bad at that?

It's gonna be good in Rogue if the quests reward is lowering other classes' cards cost to 0 (as it probably will be).

Insane card (for me). Automatic golden craft. Automatically added to Randuin Wrynn. Absolutely gonna be in the first deck I play on release.
the''pack'' is set to have higher chances to contain rarer cards, if it didnt, it probably would have its own timer
