I feel this way a lot. Sometimes I'm right and it's stupid luck. Other times I slowly realize over time I can draft and play better. I come in and out of playing Arena, and every time I come back I start off playing badly but it feels like bad luck. Not that there isn't bad luck, but if you draft and play as well as anyone, shouldn't you have your share of both bad AND good luck?
I struggle with Rogue too, I think I don't "get" it. Warlock crushes. I just had my first 12-win with a Paladin surprisingly. I don't play that much, and my average always seems higher in metas people complain about, sure sounds like that's right now.
It's a fair question -- if there wasn't one, would those thoughtless dolts just skip the reply vs. pointing to the salt thread?
On the other hand there are lots of times someone thinks they're starting a good discussion about something, but start it off with such a negative and non-constructive tone that I'm glad everyone is salt-threading them. It's kind of like a tech thread.
Pretty glib response from an actual moderator. I would guess this idea is inspired by arena, but it's different and deserves to be considered as different. Watching a new constructed meta unfold with each rotation would be really cool. I like this idea a lot.
I've been playing since Goblins vs. Gnomes and learned to not play rank almost immediately. When I tried to rank, this went from a fun game / hobby / diversion to a plague on my time and mood.
I imagine those playing ladder are a combination of a) those who thrive on that sort of thing, and b) those who have not yet reached your conclusion and are in some form of addiction.
So good for you, I've found plenty to like between Arena, Brawl, Casual, and solo to keep me happy for an average of a half hour to an hour per day, for many years now.
A Test Server is a great idea, but using it for releasing expansions early would be a massive waste. It's already depressing enough that the newness of meta is beaten to death within a week or two in wide release.
What they need it for is new game modes. If they can't test how new modes would play out, they'll always be to afraid to release any. And if they don't innovate in game modes they're going to wither away.
People are being dicks because, aside from being dicks, your title is misleading. It sounds like you won't open all the packs you bought/earned right away. I would agree that is pretty silly.
But after reading, sounds like you're not going to spend a lot of money to buy packs right away. Realizing that, your theory is right on the money. I broke the cycle of shelling out $50 a year ago and never looked back. I get excited for every 100 gold earned after release, it keeps me going, and it also keeps me from feeling like I have to compete on the bleeding edge of the meta all the time.
Yep, I'm afraid I'll use it as a measure of payback for something really over the top, like being a jerk with emotes or playing a perfectly tuned netdeck at rank 25 (my other account).
Didn't love it, but then I hated the old way too just because it was SO touchy. How many times I tapped to turn over a card and instead it swiped to the next card.
My favourite thing about this brawl is everyone on this forum complaining because its too difficult.
Never underestimate how bad people are at this game :)
Seriously. Why are people having so much trouble with this? It's not nearly as RNG-dependent as it's being made out.
It’s psychology. I actually came out here to shit on this brawl too after 0-3, but I read some replies first. Getting stomped with no hope while you learn the silly combo feels pretty bad. Question is whether the thrill of combo-ing the stupid head and a pack reverses that crappy feeling. I dunno, I’d rather play dual Arena.
Yeah, I mean you're both right. Yes it should be expected for reasons you mentioned. But those of us (me too) really enjoying the high-level of rewards are simply saying we like it as part of the reason we're playing MTGA right now. It's just that your tone seems to be trying to tell us we shouldn't enjoy it because it was expected, when that is beside our point.

Genius. So doing that next time. Ticked off I never thought of this. I only looked at each card once, still not the same though.

Ladder is, not all of Hearthstone. 90% of players don't make the distinction, but still.
