Herald Volazj is underrated by so many people that don't play priest that it's hilarious. It's a gimmick, but priest is the class that turns gimmicks into competitive strategies. Think of Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing. One of the strongest board clears on turn 4 that works so well that everyone forgot it was even a gimmick.
Volazj is pretty much the most fitting legendary that priest could get. Think of all the synergies. Silence on a 1/1 Injured Blademaster turns it into a 4/7, or any other card with good stats like Eerie Statue. It's a shame that Wailing Soul is rotating out, because it was so close to seeing play.
I don't know man, Amaz gave Volazj a pretty terrible rating. And you can't argue about his knowledge of the class, so...
Amaz literally said that Undercity Huckster would be good in Tempo Mage. That, and Amaz' reviews on WoG were extremely and consistently pessimistic across most cards seen so far, so Herald doesn't stand out among that. Amaz doesn't think about what the meta will be like after Wog comes out, and instead reviews each card independently of each other based on the current meta where face is the place. And if we're playing the celebrity game, Noxious thought the card would be amazing, while Kripp and Trump disagreed with so many other cards in comparison to Amaz' ideas.

Never assume my tone is anger. I honestly don't know what that emotion feels like, and at this point I don't want to.
I really like all the Forbidden spells, but my favorite is Renounce Darkness -- not because I'm 100 percent sure it will work, but because it will be so fun to try.

It's no "celebrity game", those guys play more than we do. That's a fact. It's fair to admit that maybe they know a lot more than we do. And I personally know jack sht about Priest, I was just saying what a Priest player said.
But if you really disregard his opinion, I guess it's up to you then. You do have good points for it, I guess.

Amaz, just like all the other reviewers has been wrong plenty of times before. Because he likes Priest so much he wants the obviously broken priest cards. Herald Volazj looks underrated to me, it's one of those cards that is hard to figure out the power of before you can use it.
Herald Volazj is probably the most interesting card so far for me.
I've been pretty underwhelmed so far, because most of the good cards pigeonhole you into playing a deck built around one of the Old Gods (so far C'Thun). that's cool as far as it goes, but it could get old quick. i'm also afraid that it means the meta will not be anything like fresh, which is supposedly the reason we're getting formats in the first place, because everyone will still be playing the same decks with the same set of cards. the fact that standard won't make the meta fresh isn't a surprise to me, but I expected it to be because they'd refuse to nerf broken cards with the excuse that they'd cycle out in JUST TWO YEARS /sarcasm, not because they're pushing cookie cutter decks (though I suppose that too shouldn't be a surprise with the release of deck recipes...)
given that, Giant Sand Worm is probably my favorite card so far, although I don't play hunter. I also really like the mechanic of Hogger, Doom of Elwynn. I don't know if either can end up being remotely competitive, but they're the most interesting to me so far. and Hallazeal the Ascended could be absolutely busted, but that's both a mark for and against it as far as me liking it

But every card has the power to be overpowered if given and used by somebody who has an idea of how to make the card work. Also with N'Zoth and the Herald we may see more deathrattle decks in the upcoming meta and even a board of 1/1 is not bad, unless your opponent has a board clear there going to have trouble taking them out most times.
Definately Tentacle of N'Zoth. It's very hard to come up with good 1 drops that are balanced, so I'm happy to see that Blizzard still has some good ideas.

If you're looking for a 2-drop, why not Mad Bomber? Trigger them Northshire draws.

There is no way to make cards like Warsong Commander or Headcrack OP, not even if you really want it. Even if you somehow manage to make it not so bad, there will always be better options. So this argument is kinda invalid. I see what you're thinking though, "everything has the same potential", and when I started I used to believe in that too. Well, that's not true.
Well Ragnoros was a surprise. He was the last I would expect in the set since he works for the old gods. Well one thing is for sure is that we can all agree Ragnoros has shone a new light on controladin.

I see what you mean but I've played card games for 10 years and Hearthstone for 1. And I can tell you every card can be pretty powerful if used correctly.

12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
Maybe a strange gimmick card for Priest? Maybe a 2-drop that buffs C'Thun and gives you an Unstable Portal battlecry?
Oooh! Mage getting a Boulderfist Ogre with a Frost Nova attached?
But wait, there's more! Just imagine... Earth Elemental... with no Overload if C'Thun has enough attack!
OH! DOOMGUARD!

N'Zoth the Corruptor because its a dream to my Feign Death hunter! and Forbidden Healing oh man that card will help me to stall a lot more with my Anyfin Pally.

Fine. Show me a way to make Headcrack a prime win condition, way more solid than old Miracle Rogue.
