It's a cool card, but i have to wonder about its usefulness, since it doesn't have taunt itself one could just leave it on the board forever rendering it useless, hence you'd have to taunt it up for any sort of usefulness at all, and with all mec going away and therefore Rusty Horn as well i'm not sure this card will see any play, i rate 2/10.
Don't forget that you'll be able to attack your opponent's minions with him, thus triggering his ability.
For the most part, it is a stat and mana copy of Troggzor, yet its effect is much weaker. However, I can still see this being tried in some Mage decks, as they can ping him every turn to keep up a constant Taunt wall, while pressuring the opponent with constant 6 damage a turn. Even when you finally do kill off Dark Hogger, they get one last 2/2 Taunt. Warriors that run Battle Rage might also like this card, since it puts more minions on the field, which increases card draw. Priests can constantly heal this guy back up, meaning they can reuse its effect more often. Probably won't see much play though.
Troggzor was never used because his ability is actually deceptively bad. You are really only playing a 7 mana 6/6 and then your opponent gets to decide if Troggzor will ever trigger. In any situation where the opponent has a board, he is just a 6/6. Only when you have the board anyway, or it is at least empty, can Troggzore hope to trigger.
Hogger's ability is more powerful as in most situations the opponent will have to trigger him at least once. Not to mention if they can't take him down in one hit, the taunt wall he creates will quickly make things a lot worse for the opponent.
in a meta where dr boom doesnt exist this card is pretty powerfull especially in priest. i think you underestimate what this card can do a lot. in priest for example it trades a small aggro minion spawns a taunt and then priest heals it. this card is above average good. i think in priest is like 8-9/10 good. if they dont introduce a splashable 7 mana 7 attack minion i can easily see hogger being used in constructed
Next few days... Dr Tentaclehave been annonced 14-14 for 11 mana ( same as before but costs more and double stats) with five tentacles with Deathrattle "split unto 1-4 new tentacles"

I hope this expansion has more original cards than 'corrupted cards'. I think this card may be good (in Taunt Warrior?) but I don't like the idea of reused card ideas.
I think is better that it seems. Not universal legend like Boom but will have his niche decks. Taunt warrior is an archetipe that blizzard wants to stablist. Also will be good in some mage, priest decks.
And if Cthun decks come the new "Cancer" deck is the best counter to damage we have now. One of the sleepers of the expansion. Rate in CURRENT standar card pool 6/10+
Now that I think about it, it would actually be a fantastic counter against C'Thun if that type of deck became popular.
Just drop it the turn before they drop C'Thun and it will soak a bunch of damage and spawn taunts for you to block the giant 16/16 with. I wonder if the spawned gnolls will be able to soak his battlecry too...
I dont know where this card fits in. It is way to expensive to deal with aggro maximising the value you get ouf of it is tricky as well since no aggro player will trade his minions into it. maybe warrior can do it with enrage or cruel taskmaster but that seems does not seem very reliable to me. Baron has a much more immidiate effect against aggro so i guess it will be better for the 7 mana slot. In control matchups it will be removed swiftly and the likelihoof of getting some value out of it is slim.
You do realise that it's currently impossible to predict these cards impact on the Standard meta? I understand calling them unoriginal (even though I disagree with the demand for originality) but calling them bad when the only meta you know is pre-nerfs Wild is ridiculus.
I really love this with the exception that it should be 6 mana :) . Then it'd be really worth it. I presume they added it in so that you have a turn 7 decent play but still....

Really Good Card, obviously better in Priest as in any other class. (Ever Cabaled a Imp Gang Boss/ Axe Flinger) BTW Trading with this card is disguesting, if your opponent lacks removal and has some midrange minions he has to Attack DoomHogger, then the taunt, then hogger and again a 2/2 Taunt, thats a lot of Attacks and at least 10 Damage. I like it, potential to Snowball out if Control.
That's an insightful observation. trading minions with this card will be very frustrating.

It seems pretty weak for a 7 mana minion. Imagine if Imp Gang Boss were a 2/2..
I'm hesitant to rate this one just yet since there's going to be a big opening in the 7-drop as far as we know right now.
Think of it this way; who would you rather have in a deck, Hogger, Doom of Elwynn or Obsidian Destroyer? Same cost, different mechanics.
