I've been playing nothing but quest mage for the past week since warlock struggles against ice block. It's not a deck I particularly enjoy playing but I feel it's that, warlock, or shadow priest at the moment until something changes.
mozaki mage works also. ofc, when oponent have strong highroll you probably lose but its still strong. cause they damage themself too much you often dont need "full" combo, just biscuit and few damage spells.
That will probably work good too. I don't usually play that deck because of how bad it feels to lose games simply because you never draw your one of card. Quest mage is at least more consistent feeling to me.
well, yes, when you dont draw mozaki its auto loss. but against warlock sometimes you have so much dmg with reduced cost it can be just enough.
i played it quite a lot, ive got 87% winrate with it, it felt too powerfull so i stopped and switched to renolock as always. its possible to have over 80dmg with it if everything goes as intended (one odd warrior was rlly sad i think..)
What's different than darkglare warlock ? You're gonna tell me before they printed the demon seed you could play trash control decks and try to outvalue your opponents and not die by turn 6 ? No you couldn't, cause you'd get killed by darkglare warlock, which kills the demon seed warlock by the way.
Come on now. Wild is fine an you are just a dirty standard player trying to push your anti-combo agenda. Control decks haven't existed in this format for many years. There's like rez priest in bronze, odd warrior in silver and that's pretty much it.
Also people stop complaining about the fatigue variant of the demon seed cause that deck is absolute garbage compared to zoo demon seed, I'm embarassed for you when I read stuff like "oh my god they backfire and then deal 10 damage from fatigue" like that match was over a long time ago my friend if you let the warlock get to fatigue LOL.
You could hysteria the giants. Also dark glare can be beat by many aggro decks mroe consistently than quest warlock. Also dark glare without quest has a way higher learning curve/difficulty level

I played Mozaki last season don't want to do it for another month so doing shadow priest for now until nerfs. Has been working good but only because there are no control or Reno decks to counter it anymore
Amazes me they didn't nerf the broken quest and instead nerfed the two cards that haven't been a problem for the six months prior but only became a problem with broken quest
Gonna be the bad guy here, and state what’s often stated and what’s always true.
It’s wild. It’s going to be an unbalanced mess, and it’s that way by design. It is the inevitability of a format that allows all cards to be played in a game that has thousands available.
YouTube any Vintage (MTGs version of wild) MTG crazy combo, and you’ll see another representation of what happens when you allow any and all cards in deck building.
Turn 6 deaths? In MTG vintage, there are decks that can easily win on the first or second turn.

Well yes, but the major difference between those two games is, that you can actaully nerf cards in hearthstone while in MTG you cant.
So there shouldnt be a reason for wild to be broken. And yes wild is meant to be wild but thats no excuse to let it be „a mess“. It should still be playable and enjoyable. Most of the time it actually is except d5-d1 of course
This quest is a mess in it’s current state. I anticipate ladder being like 35% warlock after balance changes. The only two counters the deck had, were nerfed even harder than this one was. People thought Tickatus was bad, well this is literally like a 10/90 matchup for any slower/control deck, which is way worse than Tickatus ever was.
There’s a reason why there’s like 4 or 5 different variations of quest warlock on ladder right now. And that’s because the quest is fucking busted. You can put pretty much any combination of cards in the deck & still win most matchups, as long as you’re running the quest. I would guess they’re gonna have to take a second look at this card in about a month or so.
Edit: If left alone, this single card will ruin wild forever. There’s no disruption card that can fix this issue. They would have to change the design of the quest altogether, which we all know they’re not gonna do. RIP wild. Might as well get used to Turn 3 flesh giants, Turn 4 quest completion, & Turn 5 OTK. That’s the new norm for wild.
Because of The Demon Seed, other Warlock archetypes are suffering indirect nerf....
- Darkglare Warlock without Quest
- Even Warlock (RIP Flesh Giant)
I wish Flesh Giant would have been nerfed to 10 mana, Evenlock had just started being playable again. As for Darkglare (non-quest) Warlock being nerfed, this is way overdue. The deck has been the best deck in wild for 5+ months now.
Rally/Tax Paladin worked for me to get to d5 vs. all the quest warlocs... making their shiz cost more with nerub and watchpost is a hilarious middle finger to them :D
Bumping my own thread because this garbage Quest is still the cancer killing wild. This deck can kill you by turn 6, beat any control deck, immune to fatigue, and has no hard counters. Even aggro priest is barely 50% against it and only if they draw poor. Mozaki got nerfed by Incanter's but this garbage Quest is still out there? Just amazed I wonder what the rationale of not nerfing this trash is.
Going to have to start playing this next season to even be competitive
I disagree with this. When I play aggro priest, questlock is like a free win. I have lost to it once because of an unexpected Defile (never seen it before in questlock), but my winrate is well above 90% against questlock with aggro priest.
Couldn't aggree more. I've been playing wild 3 years now and some casual standard, Couple of times Legend, but mostly played for the fun of it. 1 week into the expansions and gave up competely. Only battlegrounds at the moment. Nerfs didn't change anything.
For the first time I feel so strong, I threw my money away, and wished there was a way for Blizzard to refund us the pre order. Needless to say I won't be spending any money again on this game, unless drastic changes are made.
I've tried a bunch of homebrew unrefined aggro decks from various classes and they all work well against quest warlock. if you got a turn 1 tempo play and a good curve they are simply screwed and you will get lethal on board before their turn 5-6 tamsin play.
I must be really dumb or something but I really don't have that feeling that wild has gotten any worse and i'm enjoying it. It's just a new, different meta and that to me is a good thing for Wild.
Demon seed warlock is like another Rez priest / Odd paladin to me. Genuinely strong deck, extremely fun for the one playing it, extremely infuriating to play against with the wrong deck, extremely overplayed and overperforming in lower ranks, but also extremely susceptible to counter deck (just any aggro really) and ultimately not a problem at all in the grand scheme of things.
I do not mean to offend anyone with my opinion, I just don't see what you see guys and I guess I am lucky

A lot of them run defile, armor vendors, and hellfire now because of shadow priest. Otherwise I agree they get wrecked but the last like 10 I've run into are optimized vs. aggro and it's a 50/50 match

Only think I like about it, as a Reno Priest player, is that I can just concede turn 1 rather than wait 6 turns to loose
Very, very sad. And the announced nerfs really don't help at all.
Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.

Not nerfing this retarded broken quest was really imbecile..

Tax Paladin got me from D3 to Legend this month. Kept running into Questlocks and I locked them (excuse the pun) off the board each time. 🙌

Hey guys, do you have lists you could share?
Take a walk on the wild side...
