I haven't seen anyone take advantage of the Echoing Ooze/Spikeridged Steed interaction yet, so I crafted Sunkeeper Tarim and gave Control Paladin a shot. It seems pretty legit.
UPDATE: Winrate dropped hard at rank 5, so I started iterating. The list I'm currently running is 8-1 (from rank 5 to rank 3), but I'm still tweaking a bit. It's definitely good enough to hit legend with :)
UPDATE 2: Rank 1 now after some more tweaking. The winrate from rank 5 has been ~64% (38-21).
UPDATE 3: Legend 47 reached. The stats from rank 1 to legend were 6-1 (damn Quest Rogues). Might write a proper deck guide in a while, but until then I think this thread has run its course :) I've updated the stats table above.
8 mana for 10/28 (kinda...) in stats is quite hard to deal with. especially since the stats are spread out in a way that resists both AoE and single target removal. The Oozes also have some good synergy with Sunkeeper Tarim, so you don't always have to wait for the combo. The downside is that they're not amazing on curve, but I think it's worth it for the flexibility. From playing a ton of Jade Shaman I've really come to appreciate low cost cards that are still really good in slower matchups.
Has anyone else tried this out? What have your results been, and are there any other synergies I'm missing out on?
Personally, I would cut both zombie Chows and Solemn Vigil for Golakka Crawlers and the Curator. You already run 2 drakes.
The deck is far from optimized, just wanted to share some early thoughts on Ooze interactions :) I'm personally not a fan of Golakka Crawler since it's so weak against non-Pirate Warrior, it hasn't worked out well in any deck I've tried it in. Plus Pirate Warrior is already quite easy to beat, since you can usually chain like 5 taunt minions in a row after turn 5.
Wait a second, Dinosize plus Echoing Ooze? 10 mana 20/20.
I tried that initially, many times, but it was too bad against aggro. Plus many control decks had an answer to it, like Lightbomb, Twisting Nether, Brawl, Devolve, etc. I wanted it to work too...
Yeah, but sadly neither work well with Spikeridged Steed and other spells necessary to Control Paladin, nor is it very good with minions like Tirion and Sunkeeper Tarim :P Ooze + handbuffs would probably be great in a more proactive deck.
How often do you find Elise being important to winning? I haven't crafted her yet but I see her in a fair number of lists like this. In actual play, however, I almost never see my opponent draw the pack before the game ends.

In every game against Reno Priest, Reno Warlock, Reno Mage and Control Warrior (non quest), because these decks will all outvalue you otherwise (and often will anyway if you get poor Stonehill Defenders or a shitty pack). There are of course alternatives (or additions) worth trying out, which I'm in the process of doing right now. I can share what I've tried to far. (didn't want to make this a thread about the actual deck, but whatever :P)
N'Zoth is not a good win condition at the moment, so going harder on that seems pointless. In fact I'd like to find a way to cut N'Zoth entirely since both N'Zoth itself and the individual big deathrattle cards are so easily countered. It's not like in Warrior or Priest where even id they neutralize your Sylvanas or whatever, you still have smaller deathrattle minions that are great in control matchups. To make N'Zoth a win condition you'd probably need to run something like Deathlord, but that feels too risky in Paladin.
Going heavy with bigger minions like Ragnaros, Lightlord and The Curator does help a bit, but not enough, and it gives you more dead draws against aggro.
Another problem is that OTK decks like Freeze Mage and Malygos Shaman are pretty much impossible to beat. I'm currently testing Dirty Rats instead of Zombie Chows to help with that.
Any ideas for lategame alternatives against these slow value decks would be welcome. I don't usually play Paladin so I'm not too familiar with different combos, etc. outside of what's used in the meta decks.
Prince Malchezaar is actually good in wild. You may claim NOOB! I've consistently hit top 100 legend in wild for several months. Prince is good in wild due to so many threats from GvG and Naxx. Try it, trust me.

Hmm... I don't doubt that it adds a ton of value, but I'm worried about consistency. A pretty key reason why this deck doesn't die to aggro is that almost every expensive card has taunt :P
Probably putting this thread to rest soon, but here is a little update. After some iteration and practice I'm now at rank 3 from playing exclusively this deck. The combo is still performing great against almost every control deck, very happy with it in general. I've updated the list in my opening post with what I'm running at the moment.
I also tried out a dragon build. It was good when it worked, but too inconsistent.
OTK decks still faceroll you, Dirty Rat didn't work out. You do have a small chance against Freeze Mage if you can stall with healing for long enough to pop the Ice Block, and grab an Eye for an Eye from Hydrologist. I may end up switching to double Hydrologist because it's more consistent thanGolakka Crawler, and because the secrets are great with Wild Pyromancer. That would improve the Freeze Mage matchup even more. Malygos Shaman is still unwinnable though.

I almost always see my opponents draw the pack the turn after they played Elise.
I've pulled this combination off quite a few times (same with Dinosize) with my quest Paladin deck.
I know it's not optimized (card draw being my biggest issue), but it's a lot of fun when it works even with just moderate success.
I've thought about taking Wickerflame Burnbristle out for Divine Favor, but it feels like I never draw it when I need it, or I have it and it's a dead card in my hand.

OH so this is the deck that i faced i'll give this a shot thanks
Very nice idea. I'll have to give this a try! :)

can do this with voraxx in standard.
"Let me change your mind..."
Where is Dr.Boom? You can't play Wild with out Dr.Boom! it is a heresy!

Why am I sticky?

Just test it. :p

Now even more budget friendly! *cough*
I went with the tip to run The Curator instead of Solemn Vigil, and replaced the Zombie Chows with one Golakka Crawler and one Hydrologist. N'Zoth, the Corruptor was replaced with Ragnaros, Lightlord, and to make up for the value loss I replaced one Aldor Peacekeeper with Brann Bronzebeard. Brann does not have very many targets so you often need to hold him for a long time, but that's what you would typically do with N'Zoth anyway.
I also tried out a dragon build. It was good when it worked, but too inconsistent.
