curious to hear how other people rank classes in arena based on their own performance, and my search didn't turn up any recent threads on the subject, so although I'm sure one exists somewhere, I figured a fresh one to reflect what people are experiencing lately could be interesting. so here's mine:
1. Shaman/ 2. Priest - My best recent runs have been with Shaman (including my first 10-win arena), but I've been playing less Priest arena lately, because I'm already level 60 and don't need the XP. So although its still one of my more played classes, and I formerly would have ranked it first, I'd currently give the nod to Shaman in arena.
3. Mage/ 4. Rogue - these two are pretty close behind the previous two. Mage tends to be more consistent, but my ceiling with Rogue has been higher (and my floor lower). I never get obscene amounts of the good spells like so many people tend to with Mage (I can't recall ever getting more than 2 Flamestrikes, for instance, and even that is a rarity), so my results tend to be just above average compared to other classes.
5. Warrior - I haven't played as much Warrior in arena as the above classes (or as much as Paladin), but limited results indicate that a larger sample would probably land it with Mage and Rogue in the above tier.
6. Paladin - I never seem to get the staple class cards, so although I've seen it ranked as one of the top arena classes, it tends to just be average for me.
7. Hunter - small sample size, but I've tended to do ok with Hunter. Might be able to rank with Paladin or Warrior given more runs.
8. Warlock - small sample size, results have been slightly below average. More runs may prove to be more equal to Hunter or Paladin, but since I've been keeping track, its been clearly my 2nd worst in arena.
9. Druid - small sample size, but I'm absolutely dreadful with this class in arena. Like Paladin (and most other classes, quite frankly), I don't tend to see the good cards like Swipe or Druid of the Claw, but the results suffer for it much more.
The bottom 3 are my least played in both arena and constructed. The other 6 I play at least occasionally in ranked. Shaman is probably the class I've struggled with the most in Ranked this month of those 6, but its probably been my best arena class as noted above. Otherwise, the rankings are pretty close to how I'd currently rank them for my constructed play as well.

1. Shaman : definitely the king of arena, much burst, much control.
2. Mage : with nice spells, you always do some good runs.
3. Paladin : If you can get your hand on good minions, heal and maybe 1-2 damage spell, you'll do fine.
4. Druid : tough minions to deal with, if you get swipe you'll do really good.
5. Priest : I tend to always get good runs but really hard to recover from a tempo lost.
6. Rogue : burn through cards quickly, hard to get staple cards since so many spells are good in different situations... Oh and hero power just kills you on the long run.
7-8-9 hunter warrior warlock, never played with them.
1. Shaman/Druid - Gone 12-2 with Shaman once and very consistently above 7 wins. I used to main Shaman, which definitely helps when drafting/playing. Consistently go 7 wins or above with Druid. It's a straightforward class to play (like Mage).
3. Mage/Hunter - Gone 12-0 once with Mage. The highlight of my Arena career. Solid but still not as consistent as the classes above for me. Hunter is a surprise cause I used to avoid it like the plague but I've been playing it recently and it's been doing okay for me. Having Beast/UtH synergy is quite important for success.
5. Warrior - Not the most consistent but better than the classes below. Need to draft value cards like Fiery Win Axe or Arathi Weaponsmith to do well.
6. Priest/Paladin - I enjoy playing Priest a lot but my runs have often been quite average. Used to be good at Paladin but for some strange reason, I just haven't been able to do it right with this class from the start of year 2014.
8. Warlock - Have only done decently once. The other runs were dreadful - lucky to get 3-4 wins. Quite hard to draft for me.
9. Rogue - I don't play rogue at all so never tried.
1. Shaman (avg. wins - 7.357): This is actually my fourth most played class in arena, behind Mage, Druid and Priest. I find it to be unstoppable with the right class cards like Fire Elemental, Stormforged Axe, Hex and Lightning Storm.
2. Mage (avg. wins - 7.337): Not suprisingly the class I play the most. Nothing special to say about Mage. Best hero ability in arena, great spells and very hard to counter if you draft a good burn deck.
3. Rogue (avg. wins - 7.192): Probably my favourite class to play with. Tempo works great in arena and the right opening with good cards (Backstab, Defias Ringleader, SI:7 Agent) plus a few others, coupled with the great hero ability equals good times.
4. Priest (avg. wins - 6.214): Used to be my favourite class to play with in arena, but seems to be too slow nowadays. Strong early game is the most important thing here. If you don't lose board presence in the early game, the win is pretty much in the bag.
5. Warlock (avg. wins - 6.125): Value hero power. Coupled with some good quality, cheap cards, Warlock is just too strong. On the other side, if you don't get good quality, cheap cards... You're pretty much done for. This is the only class with which I had 1 win runs... Due to poor draft choices, mostly.
6. Druid (avg. wins - 5.78): Either you get a good draft and manage to control things or you don't and end up being too slow. That's how my runs go. Also, no Swipe, no win.
7. Hunter (avg. wins - 5.5): Pretty simple. Starving Buzzard + Unleash the Hounds or gtfo. At least that's how it goes for me. An agro oriented deck without that combo can work too, but I've found it to be unreliable.
8. Warrior (avg. wins - 5): I've played only 2 games with this class, so I can't say anything about it. Will probably start playing more. I'm sorry.
9. Paladin (avg wins - 4.375): I don't know how to play Paladin. That must be it. I've tried and tried again, but it just relies too much on the staple 4 drops.
These are based on my stats since the 12 win patch (1100+ arena wins in total) and do not represent my opinion on which class is stronger than the other.

I think that it has more to do with the way you see things in the game than with the "raw class", such as it is. Oh, other than Warlock - it is pretty bad in Arena, unless you are a godly-good aggro drafter! Here are my personal rankings (I average around 7 wins):
1) Mage - the "OP" class, both because of the hero ability and the absurdity of Flamestrike. 2) Shaman - I main Shaman on Ranked (4, last I checked, but I spend more time in Arena), and that helps me understand the hero ability better. Just like in "constructed", Shamans are the ultimate all-rounder; they will never be "the nutz", but they are always solid. 3/4) Druid/Paladin - I find these two pretty comparable - they are both VERY CONSISTENT. They also both lean heavily on class cards, and lack the powerful removal that Mage (duh) and Shaman (Bolt /Hex) have. 5) Rogue - Really in the same tier as Druid and Paladin, to me, but a bit less consistent. Can be hard to draft right, and it is easy to kill yourself with your own weapons. 6) Hunter - It should be one of the best classes, but it is really hard to draft right. I find it really inconsistent - a lot of 4-win decks, and a lot of 10-12 win decks, but nothing really in-between. 7/8) Priest/Warrior - Priest is as inconsistent as Hunter, but setup as a control class rather than aggro. That makes it consistently weaker in long games, as dealing with big dudes (or 4-power dudes) is really hard. Warrior just lacks staying power - it has the least impressive class ability, 9) Warlock - CRAP. Basically, unless you manage to draft a decent "Zoo" deck, the hero ability will eat you alive. It also has pretty weak class-specifics compared to the top 4 - those additional costs (Hellfire) that don't matter as much in Ranked really bite you in Arena.
Side note: my preference in pick order is generally #1 Rogue, #2 Paladin, #3 Shaman, #4 Mage, #5 Druid, #6 Hunter - but my stats don't agree with me! -- also you can check out my all arena stream on Twitch at twitch.tv/thedarkimp
Top 3:
1. Druid (74.58%) (128 games played) (2x 12+ runs)
2. Rogue (71.74%) (138 games played) (2x 12+ runs)
I really like playing as Druid but it's my second worst class. Hunter and Warlock are highly susceptible to variance here as I've played them the least. Hunter only once actually. Still I found it quite interesting as I would put Mage, Paladin, Shaman, and Druid as the best. The results speak for themselves though.
I'll check my win rates later, but is something like this:
1- Mage (even if you get few spells, is solid)
2- Paladin (very good with truesilver draws, I can play w/o consecration, but when i dont get the sword u.u).
3- Priest (I'm really surprised, since most of the time i can't get holy nova at all... If I could draw 1 avg. I would rank it higher).
4- Hunter, Rogue, Warrior, Shaman (Shaman is great, but I only once had a decent draw, most of the time I don't get Fire Elementals, Hexes or Storms at all; thats why I find them inconsistent like the rest).
5- Warlock, then Druid (I could never managed to draw a zoo wanabe, when I tried; and well... Druid is sure loss when I play that hero).
Damn these forum Kel'Thuzads. Last post in this thread was almost a year ago, you know?
Well, whatever. It's Mage > Paladin > Warlock > Priest/Druid/Hunter, and i don't think that Warrior or Shaman are even worth mentioning. I can't figure the proper way to use totems, and i never get enough weapons with a Warrior so all runs with these classes were complete disaster, and i stopped picking them altogether (if you don't pick two classes you can always pick a third one, no matter what you're offered).
Idk, maybe i was just unlucky with Shaman, but i think all 3 tries ended with 1 win 3 losses, and i was steamrolled so hard it wasn't even a game most of the time. I kinda lost hope with that class. Even my very first arena game (on a Mage i think) was much better than a most recent game on Shaman. I even had a decent deck too, but i was steamrolled 1-3 anyway http://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/87ifmb
Heh, I was reading all these posts about how good shaman was in arena, and it was blowing my mind. And then I saw the post dates, and it all became clear.
I don't play a lot of arena, but here are my rankings:
1. Mage
2. Priest
3. Warrior
4. Rogue
5. Paladin
6. Hunter
7. Druid
8. Warlock
9. Shaman
I consistently do well with Mage (usually 5-8 wins). Warrior and Priest are hit-and-miss (anywhere from 3-7 wins). Rogue and paladin rarely get me more than 3-4 wins. (I know paladin is supposed to be easy street, and I do well with it in constructed, but I've never had much luck with it in arena.) The others, I haven't played much, and haven't gotten more than 3 wins with.
Well it may be a thread necromancy, but at least it still generates discussion ^^. And it's nice to compare and contrast what was "in" one year ago.
So here be my rankings :
(1) Priest I guess it fits my playstyle, since this class is usually not in the same league as Paladin and Mage. It may not be the class with which I got the most 12-win runs, but it is by far the most consistent one, rarely if ever going below 7 wins. Velen's Chosen and Shrinkmeister have helped cement this class as the king of trading, at least in my mind.
(2 / 3) Paladin & Mage There's not much to say about them that hasn't already been said. Efficient removal, common board clears, sticky minions. Not always consistent, especially with the enlarged card pool, but both classes have immense potential.
(4 / 5) Rogue & Hunter Here we have the high variance classes. I sometimes go all the way to 11-12 wins with them, and other times flounder around 0-3 wins. I also have trouble identifying what makes the good runs so good, making the draft portion a nightmare to me, since I find it hard to evaluate cards from a pure tempo perspective (the most effective, I believe, way to play rogue) or from a pure aggro perspective (the most effective hunter archetype).
(6) Druid An interesting class, with some interesting minions and spells. Most additions from GvG and BRM have not helped the class much, either giving it more of what it already had (big costly stupid minions) or okay-ish picks (Druid of the Flame or Anodized Robo Cub) that are not huge game changers. As a result, it still has the same problems it always had : slow, but powerful - and with the addition of sticky agressive minions, it has become less and less interesting to be in that place.
(7) Warlock Man, that hero power. The best power to push forward when you're ahead, one of the worsts when you're behind. Warlock has gotten more interesting lately, with Imp Gang Boss, better removal from GvG, and combotastic optons with Voidcaller. Not a top class for me, because it is still pretty inconsistent, but I have had some good runs.
(8 / 9) Shaman & Warrior How the mighty have fallen. Shaman used to be mys best class, averaging 6-7 wins every run. Nowadays, i just can't seem to make it work. The class depends too much on specific cards to succeed, and the prevalence of sticky minions have made their basic removal, as a whole, less effective. Warrior is somewhat in the same ballpark - weapons are great board control, but the cheap ones have gotten rarer, and the hordes of Piloted Shredder and the like are a problem to him as well.

1., 2., 3. doing that extra damage with your hero ability does a lot and all 3 classes have solid basics and commons
4. shaman fire elemental ~
5. paladin solid class cards
then rest
According to Hearthstats it is:
1. Mage
2. Rogue
3. Paladin
4 Shaman
5. Druid
6. Hunter
7. Warrior
8. Priest
9. Warlock

Should be more accurate then our personal preferences to be honest.
Personal:
1. Paladin: never less than 5 wins, even if crap cards
2. Rouge: so nice with some combos and removals
3. Mage: good removal
4. Warrior: if right cards
5. Hunter: with lucky cards
6. Shaman: played only one time and had bad cards
7. Druid: sometimes had good cards, but don't get that class...
Warlock and priest never played in arena
I consistently get high wins in arena. I am also a high level with every class.
Here is what I roughly think my performance is... give or take a rank or two.
I think that it has more to do with the way you see things in the game than with the "raw class", such as it is. Oh, other than Warlock - it is pretty bad in Arena, unless you are a godly-good aggro drafter! Here are my personal rankings (I average around 7 wins):

Disregarding daily quests, this is the order in which I pick them:
According to my arena spreadsheet (thanks Hafu!), which has records for 913 Arena games -- my stats look like the below:
Side note: my preference in pick order is generally #1 Rogue, #2 Paladin, #3 Shaman, #4 Mage, #5 Druid, #6 Hunter - but my stats don't agree with me! -- also you can check out my all arena stream on Twitch at twitch.tv/thedarkimp
Top 3:

2. Rogue (71.74%) (138 games played) (2x 12+ runs)
3. Hunter (70.69%) (58 games played) (1x 12+run)
See below chart for the rest!
I'm actually surprised by the results after tracking my arena runs since february.
1. Warrior

It may not be the class with which I got the most 12-win runs, but it is by far the most consistent one, rarely if ever going below 7 wins. (2 / 3) Paladin & Mage
There's not much to say about them that hasn't already been said. Efficient removal, common board clears, sticky minions. Not always consistent, especially with the enlarged card pool, but both classes have immense potential.
(4 / 5) Rogue & Hunter
Here we have the high variance classes.
(6) Druid
An interesting class, with some interesting minions and spells.
(7) Warlock
Man, that hero power.
(8 / 9) Shaman & Warrior
How the mighty have fallen.
