Dumb Brawl. Traditional Freeze Mage absolutely dominates this one.
Really thought Brawl was all about giving newer players more ways to play the game that wasn't Arena or getting pwned by Constructed Decks. Doesn't seem like Blizzard puts much thought into that. They just throw stuff at the wall and sees what sticks.
my opponent first turn flame imp, nothing happened. well, it says 'more than 3 health i guess.
on my turn i played two flame imps, then use sacrificial pact on opponent's flame imp to heal my self, end turn, nothing happened. does it mean it will look at the health between start and end of turn to determine whether you will get the free minion?
then on my next turn, i attacked with only one flame imp to deal 3 damage, he got a minion. i thought the rule is 'more than 3 health'?
At the start of your turn it will look to see if you have 4 or more less health than your opponent. If so, you get minion.
He did Flame Imp. Your turn started, you were ahead by 3, not down by 4+, so no minion. You did double flame imp to be losing 24-27 on health. Then you healed to be winning 29-27. His turn started, he was down only 2, not 4+, no minion. You attacked to go up 29-25. His turn started, he was down 4, minion.
The wording on this brawl is absolute trash like always.
Apparently:
* The health difference needs to be 4 or bigger. * Random minion only gets summoned at the start of your turn. * Can only summon 3-cost minions or lower (?) (needs confirmation)
Weapon Warrior is working really well for me in this brawl, because unlike a Warlock they can 'heal' with armor. I can hit any big minion with whatever weapon I have, using pirates for convenience, and usually take them out with a weapon/heroic strike combo. You guys should try it out.
My first instinct was priest (I neither have all the pieces for handlock, nor did I feel it is as strong as people first think), and it was right! I am unbeaten with my 9/4-style deck (with minor tweaks). Lightbomb, Zombie Chow, Mind Control Tech are all musts, but overall the deck really shines in this brawl. As priest you have a very fine control over not just your own but your opponent's HP too, and aggro decks that you would struggle against really suffer the advantage you get from the constant income in minions. You can stall into mid-game with them and then you will easily recover with Flash Heals, build up a board, and crush him.
I won a couple with taunt-ish druid, too, but felt less strong.
TBH I felt most of my opponents didn't really know how to play around these rules, many times I suffered early game face damage, handing me advantage, which I just kept until I had a monstrous board, plop down KT to clear all their board, and kill them in one or two turns. I take an easy win (or a dozen) anytime, though.
This brawl is one of the few times where classes with healing spells can outright win by focusing on maintaining board control while healing their opponent.
It's how I've managed to own the warlocks, and grind them all to fatigue, because they don't know how to play around the masochistic use of the druid ability + offensive Healing Touches.
Hey guys, i posted my deck here yesterday and it is really effective. If you are interested how to play it you can see me on Twitch. I guess i will play still another hour.
Anyone get a minion greater than 3 mana? Is it random or random 3 Mana and under?
EDIT:
Low cost and can't play attack right away, being the underdog rarely matters with a half decent AOE. Most regular control decks seem to do fairly well.
Strangely enough, I've noticed that with all that Warlocks messing around nobody plays with Hunters, which can overwhelm Warlock low life by gettin' all on their face in the right turn. Today I've played near 15 matches and seen lot of Warlocks, some Warriors and Mages, even one Priest, but no Hunter. It is obvious then, when I made some modified Face-Hunter deck and rushed it forward, I've got 5 wins to 1 lose (even that lose can be win play if Warlock didn't placed a damn Voidwalker and I wasn't so unlucky on draw - only last turn decided that).
I am probably the only person who uses Warrior in this brawl. The armor counts as hp so if you have 30hp+4armor your opponents will get a minion at 30hp. The idea of this deck is to armor up and fill your opponents board with as many minions as possible. If you're still alive at 8~10 mana you hopefully have drawn into the combo of Warsong Commander + Frothing Berserker + double Whirlwind or Warsong Commander + double Frothing Berserker + Whirlwind. Keep an attack of Fiery War Axe as well. 25 dmg in a turn isn't uncommon and given that many of your opponents will keep damaging themselves as Rogues or Warlocks this should be enough for lethal.
At the start of your turn, if your HP is less than enemy's HP minus 3, summon a random minion with cost 2 or 3.
The question is, did someone get legendary minions in the brawl? I'd like to see an opponent facing King Mukla from a random summon.
@vesperbot
Actually I faced a shaman who lost a significant amount of hp by stalling at waiting for me to run him down and lose most of my cards. He ended up first getting King Mukla T5, Nat Pagle T6, and Fjola Lightbane T7...
Obviously I lost but it definetly was that Shaman's lucky day lol

i dont get this rule at all.

4 or more wouldn't suffice?
Oh wait, this is Blizzard they have to complicate and convolute everything so nothing makes sense.
Yeah, on a serious note, one of the worst brawls they ever did, I'm actually now embarrassed for this company, that is how horrid this brawl is.
I don't like it. Shitty brawl.
The brawl only drops 2 or 3 mana minions. I never got 1 or below or 4 or above. Blitz should have probably reworded the description of the brawl.
Mysterious challenger nerf please
Got two Shade of Naxxramas in a row, lol.
Warlock seems to be dominating, Flame Imp and Wrathguard are a must.
Aggro decks fail hard, but Weapon specialist decks aren't bad when used to attack minions.

I managed this brawl on the first try with a priest deck with a Deathlord hooked up on Divine Spirit and Inner Fire and a Northshire Cleric buffed with Velen's Chosen.
I almost got stuck as the opponent had many taunt but never underestimate an Auchenai Soulpriest and those two damage from Anduin's hero power!
Favorite combo: Cabal Shadow Priest + Shrinkmeister = stolen Ysera
Current decks used - all low cost deck with very little craft required
Dragon Priest Patron Warrior Mech Mage Totem Shaman Pirate Rogue deck

Tavern Brawl sux.

My favorite colour is blue!

There is a lot of steak here...
Definitely a Warlock favoured brawl. Did end up going against a priest in my second match up and it was a fun match. check it out below

My opponents got the occasional Bloodmage Thalnos.
