Aggro paladin, Secret Mage, Quest mage, Aggro hunter there is many counter to the highlander priest.
Nah, Raz priest has a 60-65% winrate vs aggro paladin. also favourite against aggro hunter. And I don't want to play a counter to Raza priest, I want to be free to play any decks without running into 60% raza priests, which is a favourite against almost all decks and against all competitive decks.
Don't say that. Hearthpwn community will be hearthbroken. For most of them, only thing good about this game is highlander priest. Any other deck is just uninteractive, and boring to play against. And if you have any problems with that precous little deck, leave playing this game altogether.
I've never seen a cancer deck defended by a large group of people before.
People are dumb, biased pricks. They are incapable of judging a deck they enjoy playing as broken, when it clearly is. I actually enjoy playing the deck myself, and I'll be the first to say that it should be first in line for the next balance patch.
Listen, nobody is forcing you to get into competitive play. This is what you get for trying to climb ladder. Seriously if you don't want to match up against certain decks don't play ranked.
Dude, I'm in Legend rank for at least a week and I'm somewhere between rank 1000-3000 and I just play fun decks for entertainment. People around that dumpster rank shouldn't play tri-hard decks like Raza Priest, you can play that to reach legend or to reach top 100 legend, but not ins the dumpster legend ranks! And you can't really argue with someone playing the game, that it's his fault if it's broken, because he could just stop playing it.

Highlander Priest is not broken. Being able to do 58 damage in one turn is totally normal und every class can do it.

...they often wiff on the combo (raza on 5, dk on 8, velen on 9-10)... and then only a good player can still win... it's a high skill deck to pilot... and it is a bit strong, I agree... ( if raza would only make hero power cost 0 once and you have to play it after dk, I think it would be tot fine)... but this is hearthstone... there will be always some deck (or two) that will be top tier... and if ladder is so boring and annoying, go play dungeon run, wild, challenge a friend...

Highlander priest is hard to play. Except it really isn't.
Yes, the deck's skillcap is incredibly high, and there's a lot of room for good players to optimize their win rate by playing better. That doesn't change the fact that any scrub can pick up the deck and get 55%+ with it by playing like a complete moron.
You know, there's a reason why so many people on these forums defend HP, even though nobody defended patron warrior before the nerf. Both decks were broken(PW a bit more so, admittedly) and had a high skill cap. The main difference is that PW was actually hard to even achieve "acceptable" results with if you didn't know your way around the deck. So people who weren't good enough at the game to play it became sore and came on these forums to complain about it. Now those same people have a deck that allows them to reach a high rank with little effort, and since they keep hearing stories about it being "hard to play well" they pick up on it and assume they are good.
I've seen a couple people mention mill and I've started seeing a new mill/control deck with warlock. They play that 3/6 lion that discards one of your own cards whenever it takes damage. They then play a card called traitor I think that gives the card to the other player. They they just use aoe or mortal coils and boom you went from having a mostly full hand to an empty hand.

Source? If that's confirmed for Legend ranks, it just shows the high skillcap of the deck (compared to the <50% winrate over all ranks @vS and @HSR).
That's based on my own experience. And that's also the reason, why Aggro Paladin sin't played competitive anymore. It might still be played at lower ranks, but any Paladins I face this season were Murloc Paladins.

News flash: you aren't.
:P just stating the facts... never said I was good... but by your attitude I guess u think u r... :D ...and fyi, expert... deck does NOT have 55% win rate on lower ladder levels...
17 games is a small sample size, but I don't disagree that there are a lot of Priest on ladder... though certainly not all Highlander, I've faced a hell of a lot of Spiteful Summoner Priest. But between Priest and Warlock it's half the entire meta.
243 tracked games in Standard Ranked this season: 27% vs Priest, 24% vs Warlock, 14% vs Mage, 12% vs Druid, 12% vs Rogue, 5% vs Hunter, 4% vs Paladin, 2% vs Shaman, 1% vs Warrior
Yeah, I agree, it's a small sample size. If I had just looked at the stats of the whole season, I probably wouldn't rant on the forums...but Those 17 games are probably around 2-3 hours of gameplay...2-3 hours facing mostly the same deck...not fun and interactive.
I played a good amount of Razakus Priest myself, when going for Legend...just pisses me off when people play it in a Legend Rank area, where you are supposed to play fun decks. xD
Your stats seem to be about right and are close to what my total season stats are. I am totally looking forward to Raza cycling into Wild.

I didn't say that directed at you specifically, but rather at the people who defend the deck because they play it and don't want it to get nerfed, supposedly because they are only getting good results with it due to being good at the game.
I rate myself as pretty average at Hearthstone, which actually says a lot about the fact that I can skim from rank 12 to rank 5 using razakkus, with about 2 or 3 losses while spending half the time chatting with my girlfriend on facebook and watching funny videos on youtube.

haha... cool... :)
...I agree with need to nerf it... even thou it's rotating out (need some love for wild... ) ...
firebat suggested one cool way to deal with it: make it change the cost of ONLY current hero power... so you can't play raza first and than dk... as it will be back to 2 mana cost... it won't be totally unplayable that way...
Nah man, Highlander Priest is totally balanced. Just ask the rest o the people on these forums. It is perfectly normal to face the same deck over 30% of the time in the competitive ranks of a 9 class game.
That is not about highlander you know it is about weird matchmaking system if you take too much rank at once it starts to match you with counter decks
Tinfoil hat looks good on you.
Really stop being a Blizzard Knight it is the fact. If they wouldn't do that people would reach to the legend ranks in one day.
Pros still become legend the first day of the season LUL
Play mill rogue, it's a 90-10 vs Raza priest, they can only win if NONE of the important cards get burned, including smite and mind blast. Their tears are so delicious too.
as much as I hate the deck, this is a statement that I agree with.
I would love to fight 59% meta of any deck. Everyone playing the same thing makes for an easy climb with a soft counter
i honestly never climb as much. If I get tilted on Hearthstone, I go to Destiny. If Destiny pisses me off, I take a nap. But not only that, I always try to reach rank 20 day 1 and then I'm done with ranked for the season. It really cools me down a ton.
Clearly a sample of 17 games is full representation of the Meta game as well as a suitable size. I don't know why sites like HSReplay bother to collect data from thousands of games of sample size, when clearly you can do all the analysis you need from a simple 17 game sample size.
Now without being sarcastic, you matched up with a bunch of Priests, it's annoying, but keep playing more games and you'll find more classes. Come back after 200 or 300 games and let us know your statistics then..

I never claimed that it is a suitable sample size. I only said, that it pisses me off, to have been facing ~60% highlander priests in x games today. I did xxx games this season and it still pisses me off. I would never complain about seeing them on rank 5-1, but it's annoying as hell to see them in ranks where no tri-hards should be at (rank 3000-1000 legend).
