Arguably the best thing about Un'Goro was that it came right as three sets (Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers) left the standard meta. Players were forced to play with new cards and try new things in a dramatically different landscape. KFT, by contrast, has seen very little innovation in deck archetypes. Some decks, like Jade and Aggro Druid, have grown more powerful, but ultimately there are very few new decks; the meta is dominated by Druid decks we saw in Un'Goro and aggro decks like Pirate Warrior, Murloc Paladin, and Token Evo Shaman. (One could argue that Priest is seeing some new archetypes since Reno Priest was pretty weak before, and Big Priest is new, but that's only two decks.)
With that in mind, should Blizzard rotate sets (and send cards to the hall of fame) more often? Perhaps so often that they only ever have three sets in standard at a time. If they were to do that today, we'd have Old Gods and Karazan sent to wild. Such a rotation today could have a major impact:
There are two obvious criticisms to this idea. First, those removals don't dramatically decrease the power level of Jade Druid, and second, this would increase the cost of playing standard by quite a bit.
Regarding Jade Druid, rotations are an opportunity to send cards to the hall of fame, so this could be paired with the removal of other ramp cards that make Jade Druid so busted today. Moreover, the loss of enough Aggro Druid tools might make Jade Druid common enough that you can mulligan against it consistently.
Regarding cost, it's a fair complaint, but I actually believe that Blizzard did a good job with the KFT adventure by giving people Death Knight cards, and that along with the printing of powerful common and rare cards (Bonemare jumps to mind), they have already improved the landscape for F2P players in a big way.
What do you guys think? Do we need more frequent rotations?
more frequent rotations are not a bad idea. The pros are that meta reflexes more often. The cons, for designers are more dificult to control meta.
The option i like more is that when a new expansion comes in a old expasion comes out. So that we always have in standard 6 expansions and each expansion will have a standard live of 24 months. That the most fair rotation system i can think off.
If they are going to make major changes, the first change must be to ditch classic/basic, and introduce a balanced core set.
Rotation should take place on a rolling basis. Every new set should be accompanied by the rotation of an old set. This is simple and keeps the same number of cards in the primary format throughout the year.
Definitely no! If they do this, I am quitting Standard immediately. Rotating that often means that an expansion rotates out after merely a year. In that case, it is totally not worth spending any gold/dust on cards that would disappear after such a short period of time. Right now I have already stopped crafting any card from Old Gods, Karazhan or Mean Streets even if it fits well in a certain deck I play, because they will be rotating out soon. I only craft cards from Un'goro or KoFT. There are often suitable replacements for those missing cards. For example, since I don't have Ragnaros, Lightlord for my N'zoth Paladin deck, I just use a Primordial Drake instead. That's another drawback about frequent rotations -- if there are only three sets in Standard at a time, it greatly diminishes deck diversity. The net-decking phenomenon would be even more severe than now as there would only be so few good cards to choose from.
Keep in mind that your suggestion only affects Standard and has nothing to do with Wild. Think about it this way: if a card rotates after one year, obtaining the card is equivalent to renting the card for only one year; if a card rotates after 2 years, obtaining the card is equivalent to renting the card for 2 years. That's double the value! The very frequent rotations suggested will greatly depreciate the value of cards in Standard, and personally I will lose incentives to buy packs in upcoming expansions.
Of course, this comment applies only to F2P players and moderate money-spenders. For people who pour loads of cash into this game, they probably won't care, but please think about spending your money wisely, especially if you didn't earn them yourself.
As i said each expansion should have 2 years of standard "live". Rotating an old expasion when one new comes could be in a 2 year basis. For example. if implemented, in decembers expansion, no expansion shall come out as we donthave still 6 expansions in the base. in april a new expansion will be introduced. And in this moment "old gods" should left standard. in july 2018 with a new expansion Kazaran will go out. and in december mean streets and so on. This way each card should have the same time in standard.
We need more cards to have variety not less. Blizzard should stop with the idiotic pre-made decks like Jade, Cthun etc and just make more decent and interesting cards.
No. They need to start having public balance tests though. Get over the BS card reveals and worry about having a fun game. All of Blizzard's "playtesting" couldn't solve what was blatantly obvious to many before KFT even launched. There needs to be some change in the position of who okays the cards being printed and who is keeping cards changes behind red tape. Nothing should be sacred in this game! That is to say, card rotations should not be restricted to set rotations, nerfs should not be restricted around tournament play and problems should not be allowed to fester long enough to be problems. Stop worrying about your player's reaction to change when many of us stick around because the period when Hearthstone is changing is the best.
absolutelty not...there are games tht rotate by blocks (Pokemon comes to mind) and in my experience it's way easier and more economic to weigh spenditures and spend less if the rotation comes once a year rather than once an expansion is released.
in the former you get lot of value from your cards since you are allowed to play them for a hefty amount of time (remember that Hearthstone doesn't have kitchen tbale casual) in the later you are forced to either keep spending and are outrunned by the rotation way sooner than later anyways. as much as this hurts mtg fans: a Rotation every expansion is just a dick cashgrab move.

Do you know what Blizzard should do?
NERF THEIR FUCKING BROKEN SHIT MUCH FASTER

you should rotate to another game
splitting players in hearthstone will kill it after all
I didn't like the Hall of fame and cards like Conceal and Ice Lance counterd with Skulking Geist so no point in rotate them
