Not one out of all the Mages I've faced have run Polymorph (or not drawn it) and some games I can see them just digging and digging to try find an answer to my 16/16 Humongous Razorleaf. It's great actually. Some Shamans still run Hex but, Shaman is trash now so...
Anyway the point of my post is I am no longer scared to buff the shit out of my minions when vsing mage, obviously more noticeable in a buff based deck (Purify Priest)
Why run it, it's just taking up a spot when you can just Pavel book it, or find a 2 mana poly or better, find a 4 mana do 16 dmg to your razorleaf. If all that fails then just discover a silence, siphon soul, mind control or whatever.
priests's 16/16+ is least concern to mage compared to their ridiculous healing with priest of the feast and greater healing potion and all insta removal, priest is the worst matchup for mage right after quest warrior
Shaman is far, far from "trash". Yes, most mage decks don't run poly and it's imo a big mistake.
Shaman is trash now, and polymorph got overtaken by better, more proactive cards. Only noobs have polymorph now.
I bet we see two shaman decks in Tier 2 by the end of the month.
We already saw it. Evolve shaman is a pretty good right now. It can beat aggro druid and midrange pally with devolve+maelstrom and deck has at least 2-3 win conditions

Yeah - that was one of the ones I was thinking of. Token Shaman and Midrange Jade Shaman have seen a big uptick in the last few weeks and are finally hitting a good place in refinement.
One very good reason to not run polymorph anymore is quest rogue, much better run another burn can remove minions if need and can go face for finishing, and you have a chance to discover poly with glyph.
Makes more sense to run burn or counterspell, not to mention if you really need it you can dig for an answer with primordial or one of the other hundred cards that generate random spells. Why carry one spell that you MIGHT need when you can carry two glyphs and find what you need then for 2 less mana. And Shaman is not trash. Evolution Shaman is at least T2

This statement right here pretty much sums up the problem with this game.

They run two primordial glyphs and often at least 1 meteor

You make an error, there is one polymorph in majority versions of mage burn

It's insane value, but too slow. Besides, the meta is filled with token decks or decks that rely on multiple small minions from hand.
Here's the thing - The Ungoro meta changes almost daily. One day, most mages run a copy of polymorph. The next day, they don't.
Who needs to run polymorph ?
Most of the time if you really need it and trust really hard on the heart of the card you will get it from a Babbling Book.
That's Incredible!

Why go sheep when you can go smorc?
