After a few days, I gotta have to say that the meta "should" be slower now. I mean yesterday, I played around 10-20 minutes each game because of the matchups. I really enjoy playing control lock, reno control priest(, Jade Shaman and Pirate rogue but the last two only because I don't have them in golden yet lol). The let's say 2 things I don't really like is playing pirate warrior and jade druid just because of netdecking. I mean come on how can people actually enjoy this game by netdecking? I found love in the previously mentioned classes again and am doing even pretty well! Pirate warrior and jade druid are more meh than anything else. Like they are not even close to OP and there are 7 other classes to play that are even playable!
The Buffadin isn't getting the credit it deserves. Neither is the Midrange Beast Hunter version. Too many people playing Pirate Warrior because tons of other people are playing greedy Jade Druid/Rogue/Shaman decks. I'll admit I've run my fair share of Pirate antics. It's pretty addictive doing the brainless SMOrc for a while.
I think pirate warrior is throughly broken. As Reno Warlock I died several times even as Reno was in my starting hand because the game never even got to turn 6. They easily kill on turn 4 sometimes. It's insane. You would need stuff like 2 mana flamestrikes to even stand a chance.
Reno in your starting hand (6 mana), die on turn 4...see the problem? I don't really like the current "meta" either, but give it a few weeks, it will change considerably - judging by the previous expansions
This expansion showed a lot of promise for interesting control strategies. But it isnt the first time. Once again reality comes in to obscure the faint glimmer of hope. However I will say, this time, it isnt exactly the same song and dance. My attempts at Kazakus Reno (for all three classes) have been constantly decimated by Dragon Priest and Jade Druid time and time again. It isnt even aggro thats the problem. Pirate Warriors weakness is mulliging for Reno and heals, which isnt too bad unless of course they get an absolutely devestatingly perfect draw. Its managable.
This meta seems to be stabilizing more quickly than usual. Im seeing a large repitition of JD, PW and DP take about 50% of the games at least. Grimy Goons seem to be occupying mostly fringe decks. There are GG Hunters and GG-Anyfin hybrids that pop up every now and than, but, it doesnt seem like this mechanic is really going to take off. And Tempo Mage as usual isnèt going anywhere.
That being said Jade decks are obviously weak to aggro. Good. God help me but I want aggro to become even more dominant so it can kick this silly mechanic to the curb where it belongs.
As a Reno Tempo Mage I'm having a hard time against Jade Druid...even more than Pirate Warrior. While Jade Druid I must be fast to kill them, Pirate warrior I may be luck to have a lot of AOE and freeze and just let them out of steam. Jade is just a control crusher, that sucks.
Jade druids, more than any other deck for the moment, are based on a good card draw, that's why some matches are awesome for them, and others completely garbage. What's more, you really need to understand the mechanics of this deck, it's not as easy as it seems to be.
Im at level 11 now, 75% of the deck i see are either pirate warrior, Jade druid or dragon priest.
There is no mage/pally/hunter at level 11
I see a couple of rogue/shaman/lock (merely 25%)
So 1 aggro deck and 2 control take the majority of the meta. So if you wanna beat the meta you need a really fast deck to beat control but something to survive the aggro deck of pirate warrior.
Bad news because midrange shamn as a 30-40% winrate against druid and like 25% against dragon priest
So the best option is to have a much faster version of a midrange deck to have a chance to deal with both of them.....this is not an easy task
Im playing midrange Shaman, and its way too slow vs Jade druid and dragon priest, and those 2 deck are everywhere (im just at level 11 now, i can imagine it will be the same thing up to legend)
After playing further decks, I have to say that Demon Reno Lock is performing quiet well. Sure there are bad matchups such as super cancer decks including best hand pirate warrior or even aggro shaman (and zoolock) but in general, it performs riddiculously well against all these midrange and control decks. The warlock legendary is helpful to include demons you wouldn't usually play.
On the other hand, I was trying to play Control reno priest. This deck kind of has an ok matchup against every other deck. Sometimes, it performs okay and sometimes it struggles just because you don't get the right cards in the right time (not dragon reno priest I am talking about!).
Jade rogue tough has to slow down a bit. Sure the jade goöem cards are very good after a while but while playing jade shaman, I surprisingly understood the value of devolve. Jade rogue decks usually play N'Zoth and when you devolve the strong desthrattle minions, they won't really manage to get value out of it. This is also why I think that dirty rat is powerful. I won a game as priest just because I managed to get that N'Zoth out of hand before he managed to play it. The only sad thing tough is that I don't have the shaman legendary yet and so I can't really say if it is good or not nut as soon as I get it, I will definitely include it in my deck
The New Renolock is the answer to all this MSG shenanigans. They have: +Card Draws +Board Control +Heals +OTK burst +Board Presence in late game. and etc. What more can you ask for?

Doesnt matter how good all of this is when your dead on turn 5 :(

Good old face hunter actually works pretty well - everyone is expecting midrange or control hunter and people have made big dumb mistakes playing to a longer game.
Weird there can be a surprise factor from a positively retro deck archetype. You can put in some of the newer cards too.
I have surprising success with the camel!! Apparently mages aren't running mana worm and priests aren't running the little card drawer so much anymore!
The interesting thing is, that Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid are meta-defining in a very literal sense: they define the limits in which the meta will evolve.
Pirate Warrior sets the minimum survivability a successful deck has to deliver (not dying on turn 5-6 to the onslaught of weapons and charge). Jade Druid, on the other hand, rules out winning by fatigue.
Combining these limits i would predict a meta that favours solid mid-range and control decks with a tough early game (almost certanly running some low cost, high health taunts) and are able to close the game before jade get out of hand. good candidates should be mid-range Shaman and dragon priest, maybe taunt warrior, secret mage and secret hunter, or buffadin.
Should be pretty interesting what comes next.
You are totally wrong,
Midrange is dead as long as dragon priest is there. And let me tell you dragon priest is one of the best deck ou there. It can deal with almost anything (aggro/midrange/combo and some control) except jade druid (who is dying slowly because so many aggro deck out there)
I've played about 20 games with Pirate-Miracle Rogue (or Piracle) and I have a positive record against every class. Never would have imagined Rogue could be that strong at the moment. Thet thing is that it requires much more skill and experience than most of the decks due to having multiple options each turn, so I guess it's because of that that I don't see many rogues around while I do see so many Shamans, Warriors and Druids.

I've never been the type to play the top tier decks. For some reason it makes me feel dirty and cheap. The top decks being
'Jade Druid > Dragon Priest > Pirate warrior'
Ive been having success with prepatch Freezemage (haven't looked into new cards) and Miracle Rogue with Questing. Give them a shot.

Murloc Shaman > Pirate Warrior ;)

Tier 1 midrange shaman, aggro shaman, pirate warrior, rogue
Tier 2 Jade decks, Paladin, Hunter
OK here is my tought,
I Am a Midrange Shaman (No gadgetzan cards)

Can you share your Aggro Shaman,

As for me playing Reno Priest - Pirate Warriors' matches are quick, if u get couple early taunts he's usually dead, otherwise you are.
6 mana Reno and 5 mana AoE doesnt help when you are dead on turn 4 or 5.
It's allready happened to me many times - the death when i had coin+Reno in hand, assuming i played something previous turns too.
After some tuning the deck i dont mind matching with these type of warriors.
Good old face hunter actually works pretty well - everyone is expecting midrange or control hunter and people have made big dumb mistakes playing to a longer game.
