I just played a game where i found Zerus as a triple reward on turn three, on four he was Kalecgos.
Then i bought some tier 2 dragons and proceeded to buy and cycle every possible battlecry minion.
I stomped the game completely, even though I didn't get a triple of any of my dragons. I replaced one of them with Razorgore later on, but other than that, i just spammed whatever battlecries i could find... mostly murlocs.
My point is, i stomped the game from the beginning because of one lucky find off Zerus.
Nobody had any kind of chance to beat me.
How is that fair? Why is Zerus even in battlegrounds?!
sounds like you lost and are bitter about it.....blud
Actually, he won and feels guilty about it.
I'd say it was just a lucky highroll and should enjoy it! That's not exactly something that will happen every game.
I don't know about guilty, but it definitely had nothing to do with skill, so it didn't feel very rewarding.
I guess I just can't see the point of having a minion that is mostly useless but sometimes sweeps the entire game on pure luck.
Its because SZ can sometimes 'sweep the entire game on pure luck' that you picked him from the T3 discover though, right??
I mean, i dont know what the other 2 minions were you couldve had, but you chose SZ, and then hit the jackpot with him. Ive had the absolute turd on countless occasions and never got much better than a Selfless Hero from him.
But, as said - you picked him - then get salty because you swept the lobby because of him. If his highroll offends you that much - dont pick him going forward? Just a thought. :)
Zerus is a high risk, high reward type of thing. Such things are ok - no/low risk, high reward cards are dumb. So what you got lucky one time? Next 5 games you will pick him, he will be useless or you just throw it on the field tired of waiting for something better.

Oh, I'm not salty at all - I won!
I just wanted to hear an argument for why he should be in the game, because cheap high roll wins don't really do it for me.
That can be said, by your rationale, for any minion that spawns another.....see previous example of Sneeds into a SZ.
Some you win....mostly you lose, especially with him. As has also been said, he is the ultimate high risk/reward minion....and as BG's is primarily an RNG game, theres no reason why he shouldnt be part of the card set.
All that said though, you did pick him for the very reason you ultimately won with him...out of curiosity, what were your other 2 options for your T3 discover, and if picking SZ leads to your OP, why pick him at all?
Zerus is fine in that he can whiff really badly, sitting on a zerus cycle for 2 or 3 turns can result in tanking the game quite easily. In fact, it is the likely result. RNG cards with manipulable or minimal downsides are the bane of hearthstone but zerus isn't one of those. Djinn is the current RNG card in battlegrounds that fits this bill.

I think the other rewards were a coldlight seer and the 2/1 divine shield dragon, neither of which i had any use for.
Maybe Zerus would be more balanced if he was limited to your tavern tier +1 or something.
I never buy him from Bob.

He literally said he won and nobody could get close to beating him

My magic will tear you......oh.

He exists solely to spawn off of every god damn Sneed's Old Shredder I play.
