Eudora needs a nerf. Why must there always be a god tier hero?
Cannon is still obnoxious. But outside of that, I'm really digging it right now. Murlocs are king, but I've had a really nice top four stretch lately with everything from mechs to demons to menagerie. I feel like there's a viable hero in every offer pool and early game options are as diverse as ever (whereas in previous patches you may have had just one or two heroes total who didn't buy on T1 and upgrade on T2).
This, it is the most broken hero, i got killed from 28 health, because the dig gave him a shifter zeus, which then turned into into a golden zephyrs, i hate the rng of some deathrattle minions mainly pirate ship and the 7/7 beast.
Ok, so after playing BG solidly again for the last month or so, here's what I have basically noticed:
Murlocs - If you can get these going and stabilise mid-game, you will basically win barring madly bad RnG Pirates - very strong in the mid-game, and good in the late game assuming there are no poison Murlocs about Demons - yeah, no. Lol - they're fun and all, but unless you're Jarraxxus they aren't going to get you far. Menagerie - If you can survive the mid-game, you can often do pretty good. Top 3 at least. Beasts - Horrible. Just horrible. Even at 1-star, the nerf to Hyena killed the card. And you're not going to get to the late game very easily.
With the other builds, they seem to be hit and miss - for example, the parrot Deathrattle build is now much too slow and rarely works out. Just my thoughts and experience so far.
I just had a game where I played Eudora twice in three turns before we were on 10 gold and he dealt a total of 34 damage to me.
Hooktusk was powerful all game and Millhouse was impossible to outscale late, but never has there been a more cancerous mid-game hero than Eudora. Nerf him and the mode will be in a really good place, imo.
Edit: just had a nice post-salt bounce-back, beating a full DS/poisonous Fungalmancer Murloc comp with my Millificent DS mech build. I had a nice mid-game and felt pretty content with top 4, but then I just kept scaling and scaling. My T6 discover options were nuts: Foe Reapers, Kangors, and Amalgadons as far as the eye could see. That build doesn't go first overall often, but if feels awfully good when it does.

I take a part of this back. I'm getting rather sick of seeing 2-4 murloc players literally every game. :-(
Yup I enjoy battlegrounds 10x as much when there are no Murlocs in the game. I literally haven’t seen Murlocs not win 1st place every single time for weeks, and I play three round about everyday. Im only 6200 rating but that fact of the matter is board wide poison And divine shield negates 20 rounds of work from every other clan. hell just poison on 4-5 Murlocs locks out most other tribes. I feel like I can win any other lobby but 90% of lobbies with Murlocs are won by Murlocs and that’s bad design.

this. murlocs are so bad for the game right now, i just don't understand why blizzard doesn't change something. just remove megasaur and we're fine until there is a better solution
Worst design flaw about murlocs is that a 6 drop like maexna is clearly just weaker than any murloc with poison by that point. Making a 6 drop look like it's just useless.
And divine shield should also be harder to get than just pop 1 6 drop that you can remove afterwards and has a permanent effect (unlike the dragon deathrattle, which isn't even a dragon, so you'd rather also have a battlecry)
RNG when offered hero selection (give us $20 tog eat an extra random choice)
RNG what minions you are offered
RNG who attacks first
RNG attacks
RNG minions from shredders
It’s hearthstone you minimize rng by playing a lot of games cause that’s what they want,,..you to play a lot of games. Each individual game is just a series of coin flips.
When I can do this in a single turn late game and win after the single turn... it's pretty freakin' bad
Brann is, was and always will be the biggest problem in Battlegrounds and should have been removed a loooong time ago in my opinion.
I'd say yes and no. It's no doubt broken if you can get early Brann and then Megasaur. If you can't though, then without Brann you won't be able to build enough stats to keep up (especially if there are other murloc players and you have to compete with them to get better minions). It's hard to balance this i guess ;/. Maybe they should just cut them from Battlegrounds and replace them with something like Elementals or add more cards for tribe-less builds?

How did this win? They are abysmal. Yes, one murloc with poison guaranteed kills a minion - but there are only 5 murlocs. Two other minions are a miserable 2/4 and 5/4. And the opponent didn't have any Divine Shields, Deathrattles at all?
This would have no chance to compete in most lobbies.

On that note, I always thought Tyrion was a great addition to the game and was sad to see him get canned so quickly. Not enough heroes can do fun stuff with neutral tribe minions I think.
Tirion just exploited a niche. Since most neutral cards are just support or a throwaway fillers he had uncontested minion pool so he was pulling of his apex build very consistently.
And I personally didn't like his hero power, snowball buffing and never replacing tier 1 minions was honestly a bad design.

Yeah true - I suppose the alternative could be to add a couple more characters that contest the vanilla minions perhaps.

Murlocs need to be dealt with. The only time I ever have fun in this mode is when Murlocs aren’t in the minion pool.

Megasaur AND Toxfin need to go. There's no reason for murlocs to have access to poison in this mode at all.
Yes I just lost a game because my (VanCleef) 20 attack hydra ran directly into 2/5 poison murloc.

Great art can never be created without great suffering.
