It is by far the strongest comp now, but everyone tries to get them so it can be hard to get them - sometimes you are unlucky and don't get to offered any and then it only gets harder as more people take them from the pool.
Since the patch came live. I'm not sure why but every singe comp that I faced played murlocs.
In about 10 games not one beast comp. Maybe here and there a mech comp. And I'm talking about finishing 4th and above.
Thoughts?
I play them too now and then because if you get them right you're basically unbeatable.
The real problem is that they come often and easily in the early game then scale decently now with King Bagurgle, to say nothing of Gentle Megasaur. The fact that murlocs get every keyword that serves as a power spike (poison and divine shield) AND scale decently well now they are damn scary.
Mechs still function pretty well. Beasts have really fallen off. Tried a beast comp multiple times and the best I managed was 4th and that was just barely. Your power cards just get sniped too easily most times.
Demons are still just balls of stats that work well mid game but fall off sharply end game.
According to my experience most of the lobby either goes for murlocs or (if not sufficiently available) mechs, preferably Cobalt and Menace. The other tribes (demons, beasts) only see play if nothing else is being offered (or Lord J is around but he's not that powerful anyway).
IMHO they went too far regarding the murloc buffs, they're superior in the early-mid game and can completely snowball out of control due to the abundance of poison applications. Yea, they might remove Toxfin to fix that but then Amalgam becomes obsolete since a neutral poison buff is necessary to counter full mech/demon/beast compositions. It's a pretty difficult case and I don't how to fix it but currently murlocs are not much fun to play against.
Yep they definitely went overboard with their latest addition.
Now one can create an unbeatable deck, which is kinda boring. I had 6 divine shield windfury murlocs 5 of them poisonous and one with 48 attack on board last game. Needless to say I won. No composition of mechs demons or beasts will ever beat something like that.
With the murlocs I guess Elise should be considered Tier 1 since the possibility to grab gentle megasaur right after upgrade is huge. Closely followed by nefarian since his hp is the only counter to the divine shields.

Except maybe a Nefarian who aslo has a pretty insane board. King Bagurgle is really the issue here imo. Without him Murlocs don't scale, and when they don't scale they live and die on a Gentle Megasaur. Which I think is fine. It was a rare occurrence before King Bagurgle to see end game murlocs. Maybe nerfing Bagurgle would be enough?
Always considered murloc tribe as an early-game one where you can establish strong early with good buffs, then either swap off of it or cheese into tier rush 5 and doubles into Megasaur so poison/divine shield can carry.
But King upset this balance and now they can hold mid game as well and have smooth transition into t6.
Only thing they lacked was maybe a Murloc taunt? Always felt like they had to depend on buffed amalgam to hold mid game and cover warleaders
Gentle megasaur needs to be taken out it literally gives the person a board full of what every player's amalgam looks like. On top of that you give them king bagurgle where it does not matter if you have brann or baron because they get buffed from the battlecry and deathrattle. Since the patch if you are not running murlocs by tier 3 you may as well just concede.

example with brann and murlocs is basically top 3 always.
I just played a game where actually every single person went for murlocs.
if toxfin doesn't exist maybe other would have a chance. but with poison board full of murlocs no chance.
My last few games were mostly fights who has better murlocs for top 4-6 spots on rank 5k around.
This makes it super easy to go Mechs and get exactly what you want.
Murlocs are strong, but an easy Mech build can definitely stand up to a Murloc build your opponent had to scrounge for.

It's time for the fish people to shine.

Need to be removed from this game
