Jade Druid is a problem in the game, it is impossible to win with a control deck like Control Warrior, the Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Jade Idol combo is ridiculous. The copies that you put on the deck only can summon jades is a way to nerf Jade Idol or putting Gadgetzan Auctioneerin wild is an option. BUT Skulking Geist IS NOT THE SOLUTION. This card only makes Hearthstone in a silly RNG game that only win the player who draw better instead of be skill-based game. what do you guys think?
What does skulking geist have to do with RNG? If you mean the fact you have to draw it in order to counter the jade druids, that's the same for all the tech cards and actually all the cards in a card game.
That makes no sence, what has RNG to do with Skulking Geist?
you depend TOTALLY of draw this card if you want to win with a control deck against jade druid. that's the rng. It's not the same RNG of yogg for example, but if depend only of one card out of 30 in your deck to win a match, it isn´t balanced
You would have to be very unlucky not to draw this before the druid's cycling gets out of control. Decent control decks have plenty of draw anyway so you'll get to it.
I do agree it's a fairly unsophisticated way of dealing with jade druid but hey... it's better than 'Jade Eating Crab'.
Skulking Geist kills jade, but actually the problem for control warrior is not jade, it is priest and mage. Jade druid is not good right now, and has never been all that powerful, Skulking geist is basically, hey jade druid, if I draw this you have a limited number of giant high stat minions. both sides of the warrior versus jade druid mathcup can still win at that point. plus the warrior needs to consider Shield Slam because he wants to use both before playing geist, and actually dead man's handing Shield Slam would be nice and allow you to kill all jades anyway as long as there aren't too many played per turn. essentially the warrior has to decide when to play the card correctly, so as to have the greatest chance to win. The card encourages skill. I do dislike that it does not encourage skill from the jade player. it just punishes them for playing the deck they play.
I do like skulking geist's interaction with other control decks though. Against other control warriors, if you have used more shield slam than them then you might want to play this card, against priest, thinning their deck toward fatigue by removing some one drops would be good, but if they run the new legendary, deciding when is best becomes a little more interesting, do you wait for them to copy, or do you thin their deck earlier on letting them draw somewhat better against you. Against big druid, the armor creation card is scary, if the run it you might want to geist them, but do they, and can you get away with killing your shield slams.
It creates cool interactions, and while I think only warrior will run it and only one copy, it creates skillful play for the warrior in deciding when.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Seriously though this topic makes no sense lol. Jade druid is strong because you draw through your entire deck and then play big jades.
skulking Geist literally just gets rid of the big jades, you will automatically draw it anyway. If you lose to jade idol before the jades hit like 7/7s you would have just lost to any normal deck anyway.
Just put more card draw in the deck, problem solved, you will need the card late in the game anyways when your opponent starts going infinite with the jade idols so you would probably be able to draw it by then

Then put 2 copies in?

People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
I woud have preferred a straight up Jade Idol nerf too...the card was obviously a mistake, most players could see that before it was even released. But I'll take whatever I can get to discourage people from playing it at this point.
Once your understanding of any givin card game (Poker too) reaches a certain point every match becomes a "silly rng game". Not sure if card games are for you. I also hate jade idol.

common sense here, Every card is reliant on being drawn... its a card game. you literally draw the cards you use to win, and I'm 1000% sure that you draw skulking geist like you would draw hungry crab, or flamestrike, or twisting nether...
That makes no sence, what has RNG to do with Skulking Geist?

it's not RNG at all, every card game - including poker or blackjack has "draw variance." So saying that Geist relies on RNG is completely false. Does this mean that Golakka Crawler is reliant on RNG? or Hungry Crab? No. If it read: "Destroy all copies of a random spell in your opponent's deck" fine, but it doesn't.
Jade Idol is fine, Auctioneer is not. If you want to keep Auctioneer in the game then steps must be taken to stop Jade Idol because in a slower meta it just dominates plus health gain from druid is crazy.
Sure, the Golakka Crawler method of hitting an archetype is lazy design, as stated by Kripparrian; but Jade Druid was effectively countered before this card by understanding the Jade Druid's win condition. If you are playing control, the way to beat jade druid is kill the druid's ability to draw cards and keep the jades under control.

Hello.
All traditional CCGs rely on drawing cards from your deck. What you've stated isn't news to anyone.

Exactly, but if you want to win against jade druid you depend TOTALLY on this card
If you want to win against Jade Druid, just play hunter or some other aggro deck.
P.S. Skulking Geist is great, love the card. Nothing RNG about it.

I like how, when cards are revealed, people feel the urge to create 16 new threads to discuss the card.

if you are not ready for unlucky/lucky draws - dont play card games at all. Andd this is not about CCG only, it is about cards in general.
