Hi guys, just a thought that occurred to me whilst browsing through newly released Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards : Does this expansion seem Aggro oriented ? And I know...It is too soon to tell,we don't even have 50 Cards yet, still ~twice that much to go....But..From what I've seen : Paladin seems to be taking the Aggro-ish road...Warrior Midrange-ish... How do you feel about that ? And about the expansion overall ? Please let me know. Appreciate the comments,Thank you. :)
If priest is going to be cancer, it's zoo/dragon/resurrect/purify/n'zoth priest + any decks that beat it. If priest isn't going to be cancer, then yes, it will be a zoo meta.
I'm kind of scared of aggro pala. Other than that, unless they give shaman even more strong cards, the meta will propably control-heaviER, but aggro decks will still be pretty good.
It looks like it will have good aggro cards. And good control cards. And good midrange cards. Those coin cards could enable interesting combos as well. Really, it seems like everything will get some love, which is how it should be.
How I see it : Mage/Warlock will remain good, where they are currently. Priest will be Control(I'd joke and call it OP,now) As some of you have pointed out. Really glad about rogue, with those coins,Miracle may become a thing, viable thing again...Not that it wasn't..but It was hard to sustain it. Shaman...honestly Dunno....Druid,Druid has always been a good class,no ? But hey,it's just my humble opinion :D
I'm not sure we will have anything in future meta other then Dragon Priest and Pirate Warrior counterstand.
Why? Dragon Priest got anything to dominate, it's curved deck, so it's impossible to counter with slower decks. Only chance will have Pirate Warrior due to snowbally start and constant pressure.
Miracle is too weak vs Aggro. Warlock have some chance with Reno/Kazakus tricks and good draws. Any Mage is too slow. Druid gonna be ok, just because you can draw incredible ramp sometimes. Paladin still Tier 4. Hunter is still too slow to survive vs aggro and too slow to kill vs Priest. So my thoughts about future meta is pretty pessimistic.

Aggro paladin will push Paladin into Tier-2 at least.
I think they are trying to break the curvestone issue.
The game is NOT aggro oriented, at least past the lower ranks. Instead, the game is focused on playing on curve from early to late game. Note how normal it was for a 10 mana card, a TEN MANA *#)*# CARD to be a removal tool. I remember metas when brawl was too slow and Yogg is effective enough to be a reliable tempo recovery tool. The fastest deck, 'face hunter' typically played pass turn/ 1/1 for 2 mana/ spam secrets. And traded regularly.
And that's the problem. The game has moved to constnatly playing whatever mana cards you have and just filling your board over and over and over and over until someone runs out of cards.
The new expansion (MSoG? Gadget? MSG?) seems to be breaknig from that to remake new archetypes. Druid is being encouraged to go aggro. Paladin is going full smorc. Priest is going Tempo. Meanwhile, we're getting anti-aggro cards again with good taunt minions. There's also a lot of johnny cards, cards that look 'bad' but make you wonder if you could make a deck around them.
Though really you should NOT take any analysis seriously right now. At this point during Old Gods, all we saw was C'thun, 2 followers, and validated doom. We didn't have a CLUE what what going to hit us until just about all of the cards were brought out. And Blizzard has regularly put the more meta defining cards in the later parts of the release. The ONLY thing we know now is the theme and the mechanics introduced. As far as what the meta will bring, this is NOT a good time to tell anything.
Except that Priest is back in the game, and 1 card from being secret paladin levels of broken. If we see a 2 drop given out-a good one- cry. Cry for your futures.

I'm curious. Try listing out all the cards revealed so far and group them into aggro and not aggro. I think you'll end up answering your own question.
If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
I think Blizzard is trying to revive and form new archetypes for classes like there might be a Kazakus Reno Priest or something like that
One Priest to Rule them all, one Priest to find them, one Priest to bring them all and in the darkness Dragonfire Potion them...
RIP Aggro :P
It think it seems like we are getting more control tools if anything.
If you think about it, a card like Meanstreet Marshal isn't nearly as aggressive as Mana Wyrm or Tunnel Trogg, or even Fiery Bat.
If anything, I think Blizz is doing a good job of balancing the stuff revealed so far for most deck types (aggro, control, midrange).
Looking at the new cards so far,
Paladin, Druid are taking the Aggro path.
Warrior, Rogue are more mid-range
Priest is control.
Not sure about Warlock, Shaman, Mage, Hunter path yet.
The first set of cards they revealed were pretty anti-aggro, actually.
Second-Rate Bruiser Punishes early board flood.
Mistress of Mixtures = new Zombie Chow.
Dragonfire Potion = new Lightbomb.
So far it looks like all archetypes are getting some love in MSG.
Hearthstone is aggro oriented. So, of course!
