Midrange Hunter is my all time favorite deck, and I was wondering if it will make a comeback in standard. I feel like most of the cards recently announced for Hunter are pretty weak to okayish for constructed mode save for Princess Huhuran and Call of the Wild. And if not Midrange, what Hunter archetype decks will be viable in constructed?
From what I've seen Hunter received many great cards (Infested Wolf and Call of the Wild) to make a strong midrange deck with some nice late game value finishers. Now whether this deck will be focused around deathrattles or beasts, we'll see when we test the cards. In addition, Face Hunter has received a boost, not so much from the cards given (Fiery Bat and Twisted Worgen might make it in the deck) but because the control classes lost all their damage mitigation cards. Some crappy taunts where given but there's not enough healing to restore the damage (this could however push Reno decks even more in the meta, which is somewhat of a problem for the deck). Personally though, I think (and hope) that in standard Midrange will be Hunter's top deck.
As for Shredder and Dr. Balanced, everyone was running them, and everyone lost them. Hunter got a good replacement for shredder, in Infested Wolf (which is a beast that spawns two beasts, which might make it better than shredder in several situations). Infested can also be buffed by Houndmaster, making it awesome.
So, no, midrange hunter seems improved compared to other stereotypes in standard. At worst, it's the less impaired stereotype.
Midrange is going to be ridiculously strong. Hunter already has some amazing strong cards and now they don't even have to worry about replacing their shredders cause they can just put in infested wolves instead. Beast midrange I think will be very strong. Their new legendary is going to make highmane great and will probably have even more targets (can't remember all the rattles off the top of my head) but I do believe that midrange is going to be elevated into tier one (not entirely sure, but it seems pretty plausible)
Maybe even more amazing with N'Zoth as a win condition.
Midrange hunter with beasts will be really strong and to some extend i believe this kind of deck could potentially splash one nzoth and one huhuran and call it deathrattle but still pure beast will probably be better and faster.
Face hunter can happen but i doubt control hunter will be a viable deck except of some kind of reno deck perhaps.

Face hunter gets destroyed and people think that's the end of hunter... It's kinda sad really. It's like no one even noticed the amazing new cards that hunter got. Midrange and Deathrattle hunter are gonna be some very strong contenders. Not to mention, arguably the strongest card of the expansion is a hunter one. Call of the Wild is ridiculously powerful.
I feel like so many people just ignored a lot of the anti aggro tools introduced. Many people still think face hunter can be a thing. Sure a deck is possible, but if it becomes too popular everyone will just tech against aggro and shit on it. The aggro decks wont fair as well with so many new tools to mitigate the damage from little dudes, or just outright destroy them.
Midrange might be a thing, but there's still the problem that Hunter lacks card draw. And in the beginning Midrange will be pretty bad, since there will be many control-decks, where the joust-effect from elekk will be pretty ineffective. And it really lacks card draw. Still with Infest it will be pretty interresting. And even more Midrange becomes interresting in non-sissy-mode. In Wild Infest might become a stable together with Unleash the hounds. Since there are far more tokens, there are more hounds and more deathrattle. And then there's still fake death. So i'm really looking forward to midrange Hunter in wild mode.

Midrange beast hunter deathrattle will be the strongest hunter deck. Calling it right now.
I think Midrange Hunter will be better.
Face Hunter will still be alive.

'There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact'
Sherlock Holmes
Midrange hunter lost Loatheb, Piloted Shredder, Dr. Boom. Mad Scientist and Webspinner are out too, but they were not seen in every midrange hunter deck.
Freezing Trap, Savannah Highmane, Kill Command, Quick Shot, Animal Companion, Eaglethorn Bow, Houndmaster, Hunter's Mark, Unleash the Hounds (and its combo with Knife Juggler) are all there. Ironbeak Owl has been nerfed 1 mana more, which avoids the common combo of Owl + double Kill Command + Steady Shot.

Also, in my opinion, Call of the Wild is better than Dr. 7.

mid hunter is so weak to aggro shaman. Therefore i expect to see less mid hunter due to aggro shaman looking strong in new meta.
