Dragon Paladin Decksperiment
The Hypothesis: Paladin may not have gotten new Dragon synergy cards in Un'Goro, but they did get dragons which synergize with Paladin!
So far, I'm 4-0 with this deck!
Great to see a Standard Paladin deck that isn't running the usual murloc openers. I appreciate the experimentation.
agree with this. This deck is bad but its cool people are trying new decks
With nightbane templar and midnight drake in there, I want to see steward of darkshire. Maybe go more midrange.
What about Wrathion ?
Not enough dragons to run Wrathion and even when BRM was around I did not run Wrathion due to inconsistency. 6-mana for a 4/5 and draw a card is not enough value to justify cutting something else for it. If Wrathion was a Dragon itself, it would probably find its place in the deck.
It cant be good as it was before with BRM :(
Just not the same without some core cards from Blackrock Mountain like Dragon Consort, Blackwing Corruptor. The loss of Brann Bronzebeard Chillmaw and Twilight Gaurdian makes matters worse. You are left to scramble for replacements like Nesting Roc, Hydrologist, and (i was honestly surprised to see this) Faerie Dragon. Yes, some substitutions may be for the better, but the deck simply doesn't live up to what it used to, and it frankly never used to amount to anything notably amazing like Dragon Priest.
Edit: Regarding that whole "they did get dragons which synergize with Paladin!" statement: Bullshit. There is literally only one card from the entire expansion that is a dragon, and that is Primordial Drake. This makes me feel like this was less than a "Hey, let's see what new dragon deck we can make up with all these CRAZY dragons Blizzard printed" idea and more of a "Let me make up an excuse to try and revive Dragon Paladin since nothing else is getting views".
To be fair, Equality+Primordial Drake is a great combo.
It's a good deck in theory but in this meta it's just too slow. The only chance I had with this deck was when my opponent wasn't playing a meta deck which wasn't very often. I'm sorry but there has to be more low cost cards or this just doesn't work.
Sorry, but it's terrible. You get completely overrun by opponents minions, and unless you happen to draw consecration and equality early, you're dead by turn 7. Tried 3 gamess. Was brutalized by turn 7 each game. Even with forbidden healing.
Is tarim a good sub for elise?
It might not be. Minions in this deck are either high impact or have a high health total that makes the deck lean much more towards the control spectrum of decks. With all of the aggro in Hearthstone lately, adding a Sunkeeper Tarim to the deck might not be for the better. Even in a control vs control matchup, unless you already have a well-established board control you wouldn't have many minions to create into 3/3's, and if you DID have many minions to create into 3/3's, the chances are they were better in their original state.
Since I'm not going to spell out every situation, try to imagine likely scenarios of when you would play Sunkeeper Tarim and the effect of each one. It is not good to only look at the best and the worst cases.
The best way to know for sure: Try it out in casual or even against the innkeeper and see how it works for you. If you find that it is not having the impact and effect that you desired, then maybe it just isn't a good sub for your playstyle, or at all.
...... need I say more. xD
if you go around calling people stupid you'd better know what you're talking about
