Hey Guys, TheCantelope here. (NEW** If we get this deck to 100 upvotes I'll write a more detailed guide)
I used this deck heavily while climbing to legend this season. It's effective, and gave me some of the most fun moments I've ever had in hearthstone. Opponents have almost no idea how to play against it, and when you make your swing turns, I guarantee you'll see more insta-concedes than you've ever seen in your life. One of the best parts of this deck are the multiple win conditions: Here is a video of me pulling off an insane game breaking Aviana turn to win a match - Aviana+Innervate=GG
1)High roll with Barnes.
I advise only playing Barnes on turn 4 if you have a coin, or an innervate in hand in case you high-roll an Aviana. This is important so you can play out your other big minions before the 1/1 Aviana gets killed off. If no coin or innervate, play Barnes on turn 5. You can high-roll a Deathwing Dragonlord and instantly get all your massive dragons in play, or get a Y'Shaarj copy and pull a huge minion out of your deck. Your chance of high-rolling a helpful minion are 11/14, and sometimes can outright win the game for you.
2)Ramp, Ramp, Ramp.
Your most likely win condition is to just hard mulligan for ramp at the beginning of the game, so you can create your game breaking swing turns.
3)Giant Dragons
Deathwing Dragonlord can pull out Ysera, Deathwing, and Chillmaw. Nuff' said.
4)Aviana is Bae
This deck can be very difficult to win with if you don't plan out your Aviana turns. Many times you have to play very patiently to get out a big burst of giant minions onto the board. See video linked in intro.
Mulligans: Ramp, innervates, and Barnes are your best friends. Aside from maybe keeping an occasional wrath against against an opponent you know is playing a very aggressive deck, hard mulligan for the above cards in all situations.
Special Points and Considerations: Make sure to plan your turns very well and exercise patience. Saving Wrath and Swipes to use with Thalanos(if possible) can be game saving. Soggoth is also an absolute game changer against spell heavy decks. Against control warrior, Nature's Idol out minions for extra threats. Shoutout to the man, the myth, the legend: MiniTitan87!!!!
Bad Matchups: Zoo can be very difficult without a lucky power turn, or heavy early ramp.
Contact for help: Feel free to come by my stream any weeknight and ask me questions directly about the deck/ how to play it. Twitch.tv/TheCantelope
Thanks for the deck, I'm having a blast with it! WR around 50%, but so much fun!
Btw what do you think of the newly introduced Madam Goya in this? Could be great, if targeting the 1/1 from Barnes, Barnes himself or even Mire Keeper. However bad if drawn from Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound..
Definitely sounds like she'll fit right in.
If your collection is so limited , then you should play another deck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There is several highly competitive low cost decks around
Fandral is the most important piece for this deck for sure. Without the dragons it is a different deck alltogether though. You can still make an effective minion based ramp deck though.
yikes you probably shouldnt have dusted your cards for this deck. It's fun but not viable on ladder
Not always hitting gold, but when you do it is a pleasure to play! :)
What is your winrate with this deck?
A fun game against a mage I played today (oh, and a 2nd versus Warlock, which was pretty close): VOD Dragon Aviana Jackpot Druid
YT-Player:
Nice games! I'd say my winrate is around 60% with this deck. Higher if there are less zoo decks when I'm playing it.
Thank you for sharing this. Deck is really good but what is more important, It's really fun. :)
Fun is the most important part of hearthstone!
I only need 10.000 more dust to craft everything. Almost there!
You have to play 1 or 2 threats at a time vs control. You don't want to dump minions on the board unless they've used both brawls, or you suspect he doesn't have one in hand.
Thanks for coming to check out my channel tonight Cantelope it was really fun. Loving the deck I'll definitely be streaming it a bit till I get druid Golden.
No problem man! Hope you're having as much of a blast playing it as I am!
Can you post more of a play guide? Maybe how to use some of the cards/main drivers for the deck and your favorite combos? It would be a great help!
This is my first Druid deck and I'm loving it so far :)
Update: it's been really frustrating to run this against hunter shaman and warlock ,in those matchups it's really slow and hard to keep up. anything you might tech in to make it faster or give it more control? I can't get above rank 18 with the deckids. you did mention the consistency can be an issue so I was wondering about maybe a dragon activator or acolyte of pain for early draw power?
Ya, I plan to revise the guide. I wrote it at 5 am. It could be better for sure.
Just loving this deck. I may do a deck review of it. Can you write out a mulligan guide? I sometimes wonder about whether to keep raven idol or hard mulligan for wild growth, also what to do with mire keeper if you don't already have wild growth.
I can do a write up soon. I would always keep keeper in your opening hand no matter what. Keep Barnes, innervates, and all ramp. Don't keep nourish against fast decks, unless you have obvious ramp into it, or an innervate into it.
Idol also isn't the worst thing to have on turn 1, but I'd hard mulligan for the ramp
Looks like an absolute blast to play but I thnk I'm missing too many of the cards like Dragonlord, Aviana, and Y'srajj. I can probably craft one of them but I doubt it would have the same impact.
Ya this deck costs alot =-(
