Summon as many minions as possible before evolving them! Evolve minions that have already done work for you to maximize your value!
replacement for tunnel trogg and jeweled scarab?
nope
This mostly feels more like new cards demo, rather than robust deck. I know it's just a recipe, but Hunter recipe I tried before held its ground much better.
Recipe has few too many things going on for synergy to really click. You want to spam your (sucky) hero power for Things, and build board for Evolve, and destroy board for heal...
Elemental Destruction feels tacked on here. Probably just use Lightning Storm.
Most overload minions seem terrible in an Evolve deck because a random two-drop is almost always going to be a downgrade from Totem Golem. The ticket for an evolve deck seems to be cheaty minions whose normal cost in play is the same like Thing from Below and minions with powerful battlecries. Divine shield dudes like Argent Horserider also seem good - play them, pop the shield while killing something, and then shift into a stronger 3.
It gets +1 on the cost!
I don't think totem golem is that bad of a choice. He can secure the board early for your other drops (for a bigger evolve on turn 4 or something) and is a proper evolve target once he attacked (with 4 health he will most likely survive it in contrast to other 2 drops).
I'm easily going to remove Nerubian Prophet for Youthful Brewmasters. Simply enough, I fear that the Prophet is too slow and clunky. On paper it's a 6/4/4 with no abilities, while in game requires to be in hand for over 3 turns before it nets value, meaning if you didn't have it opening hand, then it's not that good. I think that Youthful Brewmasters can make for some particularly interesting plays after evolving your minions. Evolve a 3 drop into a 4 drop, you get Defender of Argus but you can't use him? Bounce him back and use his battlecry. Any random minion in standard could give us many valuable cards to find, and if any of them have a useful battlecry, then the pandas will save the day!
One argument for Nerubian Prophet is that if you do draw it early-game and get to play it, when you get to evolve him he'll turn into a 7 drop. Even late-game he'll still do that, and I've had a few games where I'll play him for 0 then shift him to something massive... He may feel weak, and wouldn't do much for you if you top-decked him with an empty hand, but his strength for me has been to forget about him until he gives value honestly.
.... And I've been running an aggro evolve mix that tends to murder people before he becomes dead weight...
I knew of the potential, but I questioned his consistency when drawn 2 or 3 turns later. He turned out to prove me wrong though.
why here is no 4mana 7\7 with 2 mana overload, he is too strong
Cause in a deck build for evolving minions, that minion is a shit. If you evolve him, he turns into a random 5-mana minion that is always worse than a 7/7.
I think in a deck with 2x of him, you'd still use 2x Master of Evolution (solid midrange minion and you can always evolve a totem or something), but you'd just skip out on 2x Evolve.
you can evolve when he isn't on board, or when he's low for a heal
i think elemental destruction is a little ambitious. i get the idea with volcanic drakes, but ele destruction wipes your own board, which is better for control shaman than midrange shaman
It also has the full heal combo with Hallazeal though, a combo like that can really bail you out against aggro decks, clear the board, play a 6/4 and heal to full seems pretty sweet.
Do you think you might run out of steam by turn 7 or 8. I'm curious on your thoughts about it. Since I'm a newish play.
Maybe more card draw such as the ancestral card draw from tgt?
It could run out of steam, but I'd rather like to see Azure Drake for card draw instead. The drakes improve spell damage for many of Shaman's utilities, and they're 5 mana 4/4s. Not the best stats. If they live to kill a 3 or less power minion, you can evolve a 4/1 Azure Drake into anything 6 cost, and that's really powerful. If you're thinking about running Ancestral Knowledge, then you might need to consider a second Eternal Sentinel or Lava Shock.
I'm definitely going to play this once Old God's is out!
Thing from below / drake post destruction are going to be completely busted with evolve.
Not sure about prophet though, it does need to sit in your hand to drop in cost.
This is actually a really solid Midrange deck.
It some cards that have incredible Evolution synergy, like Nerubian Prophet, Thing From Below, Volcanic Drake, and Tuskarr Totemic.
