Hello I'm Shadow and this is my C'Thun Priest that I've been working on since the release of Whispers, feel free to leave an upvote if you want or a comment too!
Reasons for cards:
- Excavated Evil: Powerful board control, but it is a double-edged sword!
- Beckoner of Evil: Your typical early game play if going first, try to always get 1 in your starting hand.
- Northshire Cleric: It provides early game card draw and can give you good late game card draw also.
- Twilight Darkmender: A powerful heal that can heal for 20 Health if you combo it with Brann.
- Disciple of C'Thun: It deals 2 damage offering early game control and provides a buff to your C'Thun.
- C'Thun's Chosen: Divine Shield makes this minion more durable than most and with 4 Attack it can deal some good damage.
- Shadow Word: Death: The can easily deal with any larger minions your opponent might play.
- Twin Emperor Vek'lor: Providing 8/12 in stats and taunt is too good to pass up, offfering you a few more precious turns to get C'Thun or to protect your valuable minions.
- C'Thun: The finisher, you can expect to average about a 15/15. You can use it as an end game winning card or as a board clear.
- Brann Bronzebeard: He will trigger your battlecries twice that means more power for C'Thun along with interacting with some other minions in this deck.
- Entomb: That's a nice Tirion you got there... Be a shame if something happens to it.
- Twilight Elder: Another nice early game card, you can get an average of 2 ticks of his ability, but you can get more.
- Holy Fire: Nice removal tool that can give you a bit more time with the heal for 5 health.
- Power Word: Shield: Makes minions more durable along with drawing you a card.
- Shadow Word: Pain: Deals with almost all early game minions your opponent may use.
- Kabal Songstealer: Silences a minion while being a 5/5 body can be quite useful.
- Auchenai Soulpriest: Turn your hero power into a removal tool along with having amazing synergy with Circle of Healing.
- Circle of Healing: Mostly used as a combo card with Northshire Cleric and the above stated card, but can be used in other useful ways.
Possible cards to use when you got more dust:
Thank you for checking out the deck and don't forget about the Twilight Father! If you got any questions about the deck feel free to ask in the comment section!
I quit, but I'm back and have made a small change too with the cards I bought from the new expansion. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment below!
Needed a cheap and powerful deck for my priest to complete daily challenges. Gonna try this one, thanks mate!
Glad you like it!
I have done a big update to the deck with the testing I've been doing and with the changes I've done so far it's done better that it typically does. If you have any questions about the changes feel free to ask!
This deck is really quite bad, even for a priest. 2 Holy Fires are useless dead cards most of the time and don't even mention the mass dispel. Played like 6 games with it and not once was there even a theoretical place for that card to be useful for anything but drawing 1 card for 4 mana. Also it lacks removal and pretty much any deck that doesn't draw like crap will crush you.
You'd be surprised how surprised, how many times I've been saved by both those cards, while I do admit Mass Dispel is a terrible card and I have been thinking of changing it out for a while now. I haven't played Priest for a while now, but it has done fairly well for me on the ladder to get me to rank 12, it's not meant to be a highly competitive deck, but simply a cheaper deck for people to play around with. You can easily remove the cards you aren't happy with.
Once Karazhan has all the cards out, I will see if any will be of use to C'Thun Priest.
What do the "cards to put in" replace?
Whatever you feel like would be good to remove. The most expandable card is the Shifting Shade.
But Shifting Shade so good :/
I wanna entomb a C'thun and live the double C'thun dream, though...
Oh if it's a spell Shadow Madness ok to go.
Wonderful! Updated version will be here tomorrow.
Sorry for not replying sooner. Anyways I just don't currently own an Entomb but now that I've been able to do a bunch of testing today I will post my version and I will offer a win rate next season.
Deck has been updated for the future expansion! Also the name was changed from By The Light! to By The Light?
Thoughts on having Reno in here?
It was a terrible idea...
You are right about that and it would in here but this deck was made with cards I own and currently the blademaster is not on my craft list as I'm saving up for WoG and a sylvanus windrunner. Great Idea though!
Thanks for making the guide and showing us this deck. I like it (cheap, strong, standard), but how does it do on the ladder? What rank are you at currently? I will try to make a few tweaks and add a few things (cabal shadow priest, etc.) Thoughts?
I originally got from 23 to 16 with it then I started having troubles with Reno Jackson. Though many of the decks problems came from Naxx and GvG cards like Dr.Boom and Kel. For example I played a game against a shaman today he was at 5 health me 20 I was doing pretty good stole the dudes Arch-Thief Rafaam, Loatheb, Deathwing. But then he played Kel and I lost because his minions suddenly got sticky and he easily took out mine. My opinion is that this deck will become a lot stronger once standard hits as it's been doing well against most other decks that run mainly standard cards.
Definitely. One more month of the same stuff then (hopefully) things will change up a bit. Looking forward to priest in standard!
