Hello friends, 3e Anura here with my favorite list of odd shaman to date. I started trying to make the deck competitive back in May, and after many revisions and nearly 500 games, have come to a point where I can truly claim the deck is not a meme. I got a top 100 finish on NA and EU for August and broke into the top 10 for September.
You can follow me on twitter for new decklists and to see when I'm going live on twitch!
Mulligan: Always keep Tunnel Trogg, Surging Tempest, and Tour Guide. If you don't have one, throw everything back except Sludge Slurper on the play and Arcane Watcher or Speaker Gidra on the coin. With a 1-drop keep Storm's Wrath, and when on the coin with a Tour Guide keep Flametongue Totem and Totemic Reflection.
The goal is to get onto the board early and hold it until you can set up lethal with burn spells. The deck has very little card draw, but maximizing the value of your totems gives the deck a lot more reach than the mana curve suggests.

Budget substitutions: This deck still functions very well without the legendaries (other than Baku) that I have included. I replaced them with two Marshspawns and a single Mana Tide Totem for my F2P climb on Europe which got me a top 100 finish.
If you want to craft the legendaries, I would go in order of Speaker Gidra first, Instructor Fireheart second, and Electra Stormsurge third.
Cool deck. I just changed one Lava Burst for Electra Stormsurge. Electra is amolst always better than Lava Burst. It can even be a second Lava Burst!
I did try Electra Stormsurge in previous versions, and have been considering bringing it back. I've been considering going down to one Mana Tide Totem, I would probably cut that before Lava Burst.
What are you normally looking for from Instructor Fireheart and around what turn do you normally play her/ how many mana crystals do you make sure you have before you play her? I usually try waiting for turn 10, but I feel like this is the reason for my losses. Thanks! :D
Don't be afraid to play her with just 4 or 5 mana. If you need to just get some stats on the board and don't have anything else to play, just getting 1 or 2 spells from her is still solid. Think of her like a Marshspawn that can get you more value if you desperately need it.
Cool thanks! I managed to go from B10-D4 with almost no star bonus from the previous season (I only hit G3 last season). I swapped the Arcane Watcher for Lady Vashj and 1 Voltaic Burst. I personally don't enjoy playing Arcane Watcher and I really liked how Lady Vashj top deck can really swing the game. I'll be sure to tell you if I hit legend. This deck brought me to the highest rank I've ever been so thank you very much for that! Most fun aggro deck I've ever played!
Also, what do you think about adding Leeroy Jenkins and Loatheb? I feel as though he is another strong top deck. And any tips for climbing out of D4/5? I'm so stuck. Every match-up has become a 50/50 type of game, compared to when I started climbing, where every game felt so easy to just beat people without breaking a sweat. Thanks again!
Hey you can check out the updates I made above! If you don't like Arcane Watcher, swapping them for Leeroy Jenkins and Loatheb wouldn't be a bad idea, though I personally am not a fan of playing 5-drops in the deck. Bringing back the Mana Tide Totem and/or Earth Shock is another option.
Glad you've been enjoying the deck so much, I certainly think it breaks the norm of "brain-dead aggro". It has so many decisions! Keep your future turns in mind for mulligan, overloading, and totem choices, and try to give your opponent's as few outs as possible. Some games you'll draw the wrong half of the deck, but sometimes the opponent will do the same!
Would Fungalmancer work too? I see it's still used in Odd Paladin and Odd Rogue. Thanks for all your help. You answered all my questions on both this deck and your pre-Scholomance deck list and on stream. You easily became one of my favourite streamers. Playing meme decks and climbing are my 2 favourite things. Thanks for making Hearthstone fun again!
Fungalmancer could definitely work, though this deck has the advantage of being able to use burn spells for reach while odd rogue and paladin are pretty much always relying on the board (hence the Fungalmancer as a curve-topper there).
That really means a lot to me, thanks for the support :)
Now for my final question (sorry I'm asking so many XD), do you think Leeroy Jenkins or Electra Stormsurge? I'm low on dust and desperate to make the final push to Legend. That's it I'm not asking anymore questions XD, I've bothered you enough.
If you don't have either I would say just save your dust. If you have both I would lean towards Electra, as you can usually get damage at a better rate than Leeroy. Also Electra can give you damage that goes over taunt, and is less of a dead card in early turns than Leeroy.
And it's no bother at all, I'm happy to see the interest!
Hey Anura, I just hit Legend. Thanks for all your help! :D
Hello, excellent deck. What do you think about including Diligeant Notetaker ?
That card costs 2, this is an odd deck
Damn you're right, forgot about that.
