Hello!
My nick name is phobia. I love Warlock and experiments with new combo decks and cards.
After success with my homebrew Mecha'thun N'Zoth Event deck (It had highest winrate for Warlock on hsreplay - 58%) I tried to find something powerful for new warlock combo. Kanrethad Ebonlocke + Sathrovarr (10 mana one turn super combo)? Too slow, I thought. And not enough against Control Priest sometimes. Then I removed dragon pack and added board destruction cards with Expired Merchant for copy Sathrovarr. You will have 7 Primes, each summons 3 huge demons! It still good against aggro decks (many removals and heal)
Now I can say this is not fun deck, It competitive in ladder. When I started to record videos I was on D5 rank, now I am on D3 rank and continue to climb.
Tips and tricks
Play Conjured Mirage to survive one more turn or together with Doomsayer. Sometimes It helps to avoid fatigue damage before you shuffle Primes.
Mulligan
Always keep quest
Against Aggro - all your low cost removal cards
Against Control - Plot Twist, Questing Explorer
Popular matchups
Egg / Enrage Warrior - I never lost in this matchup. Warrior will stuck armor and try to create board, clear this every turn and make quest to EZ win. Don't forget about big charge damage so keep your health 20+.
Galakrond Warlock - just keep in mind 4 strong turns: Alexstrasza, Galakrond 4 demons, Zephrys, and Dragonqueen. Keep your removals and you will win.
Galakrond Priest - this guy will steal all your cards: Primes, Twisting Nether etc, so you need to discard Sathrovarr and kill Expired Merchant in the same turn! Then copy Kanrethad Ebonlocke. Don't play all your cards in one turn, remember about Soul Mirror and Plague of Death. Winrate 70-80%.
Mages and Rogues - always casino! So 50/50, keep heal for Alexstrasza turn
Hunters / Demon hunters - bad matchup, you need good start and luck to deal with It. 30% winrate.
Replacements
Novice Engineer, Twisted Knowledge, Overconfident Orc can be good replacement for missing cards
Some gameplay examples:
Tempo Demon Hunter
Gala Warlock
Gala Priest (I failed to copy Primes twice, but won)
Control Warrior
i'll admit i was very very skeptical. Not only have i had little success with other plot twist quest warlock decks, but the idea of Sath+Kanre combo was one that i hadn't ever thought of before, and i clearly very very much underestimated it. I've only played 1 game with it so far, so i'm still got a long way to go. But it was vs a priest, and the entire game he was taunting me thinking i was gonna be super screwed, as he still had 15 cards in deck when i was down to 0. Especially when he ended up playing nearly as many kanre as I did thanks to priests various bullshit. And after the first one or two, i was a bit frustrated, as the game had been going for so long, and all i had gotten from the first two primes was a couple 5/5s, only 2 with life steal. 'This deck is bullshit' I thought. Until i played the 3rd, then 4th, and 5th primes. So damn much value even priest can't remove it all. I ended up winning, obviously, taking the priest down from 30 hp, 5 armor, in 1 turn, AFTER removing their version of prime, i think the 8/11 taunt with life steal. I traded into it, and the rest went face. And thanks to twisted knowledge, i had played the 7 mana 4/7 taunt that gives demons +1. Very, very, very ,very satisfying win i have to say. I plan to continue to play around with the deck, and depending on my success, maybe make some more minor changes. But either way, I've +1 cause it is so much fun, i am still a bit unsure of how aggro match ups will go, but based on all the cards i had to basically throw away cause priest didn't play shit, i imagine it is definitely winnable
Yes, priest is annoying as always :D
But he is not so fast to draw Primes as you do, so usually 4-5 Primes enough to beat him
I'm glad you enjoyed this deck
