Discard Strategy

Mulligan is important because it defines our Discard strategy. These are some tips, that I use to start the game properly.

Mulligan variations and strategies:

1.Malchezaar's Imp + The Soularium - On the turn 2 we discard 3 cards and then try to discard 3 remaining cards with Lakkari Felhound or Doomguard. You can use Cataclysm but in this situation it often discards more cards than you need, so we are losing potential Renounce/Rafaam value.

2. Cataclysm - Just have 7 cards in your hands on turn 4 and then use Cataclysm for tempo Nether Portal.

Optional mulligan:

• Vs Aggro: Defile, Drain Soul.
• Expired Merchant + Silverware Golem/Fist of Jaraxxus.

Never mulligan: Renounce Darkness, Arch-Villain Rafaam.

Renounce time

So Nether Portal is on the board. What's next? It's time swap our useless discard for Unlimited Random Value.

We can do this with Renounce Darkness Or Arch-Villain Rafaam.
I think that Renounce Darkness is best when you need a miracle. With 1 mana discount and your remaining mana after 2 mana speel you can easily turn around game situation.
And Arch-Villain Rafaam is good when the board is under your control or empty.

Before Renouncing or Rafaaming always try to get as many card as possible, using The Soularium (To draw cards) or Expired Merchant/High Priestess Jeklik/Soulwarden to create cards.

Also we have a backup plan - Bloodreaver Gul'dan. Use it if you can't renounce.

Tech Cards

Bloodmage Thalnos - can improve Defile, Drain Soul. Also it can combine with some Renounce cards. It fits nicely in the deck, but you can swap it for silence or other thing.

Gluttonous Ooze - our way to deal with weapons. It also gives us armor. Can be swapped for silence etc.

I really like this deck. It's very fun and random. Try it!
