Hey guys.
UkendtKunst here! I'm a multiple legend player, that usually hit legend every month with various hunter decks. Today I'll bring you Mech Aggro Hunter, which I just got legend with.
I had a solid winrate at around 64%, but you can get a way better winrate, if you avoid tilting.
Proff:
But let's get into the guide!
Mulligan
Against fast decks: (Rouge, Token Druid, Hunter, Zoolock, Murloc Shaman)
Against slower decks: (Warrior, Priest, Mage, Control Shaman)
Important for the mulligan
- When you're agianst rouge or druid, you'll have to get a 1 of 2 drop. If you don't, you'll properly lose.
- Agianst Warrior, you can sometimes be greedy and keep Explodinator, Replicating Menace or Boommaster Flark.
Playstyle
This is an aggrodeck and should therefore also be played according to that. You really want to dominate the early board - but more importantly, you'll have to chip your opponent down with your Goblin Bombs. The most important question you have to ask yourself is: "Do I need to trade to keep board dominance or just hit face?"
Sometimes you'll have to just go face, because if you get your opponent low enough on health he won't be able to trade into your Goblin Bombs. Then you just magnetize the bombs and blow up his face! :D
Summary;
Earlygame: Get boardcontrol and control the board - build up tempo with your cheap minions.
Midgame: Begin to hit face and buff bombs.
Lategame: You should have won by now - but if you haven't then throw down Boommaster Flark or Leeroy Jenkins and blow him up!
Matchups:
Control: 80/20
Control warrior is a great matchup. You should win it most of the times. Your gameplay is as follows; you should just try to curve out and hit his face. You want to end the game fast. You should try to get Ursatron and Replicating Menace. If you can smash down Ursatron and magnetize it with minions, you usually win. It's very hard for warrior to remove big minions, if they can't get armor enough to Shield Slam. When he gets low on health - just get Goblin Bombs on board and finish him.
Bomb: 70/30
The same as above - but they have more tempo, which makes the matchup harder. You should still win though. But I would recommend to try to get more early minions. Ursatron is not as good in this matchup and should only be kept if you already have other low-drops.
Zoo 30/70
Zoo is a bad matchup. Try to get early minions in mulligan, try to clear his board. Your best chance to win is if you get Mecharoo and Fireworks Tech on curve and then just keep control of the game. You can also just slowly chip him down and then burst him with Leeroy Jenkins or Boommaster Flark.
Another way of winning is if you survive to get Venomizer magnetized to Missile Launcher. You basicly win if that happen, because they can't clean it. They usually don't play with Soulfire.
Khadgar control mage 90/10
This is properly your best matchup. They usually don't do anything between turn 1 - 3. Just get three minions down, hit his face and keep developing the board. Always keep Venomizer. If you can magnetize it and kill a Mountain Giant, they sometimes ragequit.
Tempo 40/60
This is just a very hard matchup. It's very depend on how good your or his start is. Try to out-tempo him and hit face ALOT. If you don't kill him fast, he will kill you. Try to get Mecharoo and Fireworks Tech. The best way to learn the matchup is by playing it - and if he gets the nuts, you just can't do anything.
Secret 70/30
Pretty easy matchup. They run out of gas way faster than you. Just control the board and you will eventually win. I would do a lot of trading in this matchup and don't leave minions on his board unless you're very close to lethal.
Secret mech 60/40
Same as above - but they have Kangor's Endless Army which might turn around the game. Therefore you should try to end them a bit faster - and I would recommend to go a bit more face in this matchup.
Immortal 85/15
Just go face. You win :)
Murloc 40/60
Just try to get your early minions in the mulligan. Control the board - and hope he don't get the nuts. It's a bit like zoo - but I don't think they're as consistent. You are though and therefore the matchup is more favored. If you survive to get Venomizer magnetized to Missile Launcher you instantly win this matchup.
Control 65/35
Just go face. Play around Hex.
Mech 65/35
This list smash other mech hunters. Get your early cards and just keep the board, go face and end the game. If it's a list with Mechanical Whelp try to end before he can combo with Nine Lives.
Midrange 50/50
Depends on the mulligan. But try to control the board, don't flood the board too hard and then try to hit him hard with magnetized minions or Goblin Bombs.
Secret 45/55
Rare matchup. You should do the same as above - but sometimes they just have the right secret / mulligan and there is nothing to do. Try to end them before they can Zul'jin.
Token 40/60
It's a lot about luck. Mulligan hard for Mecharoo and 2 drops. Always clean their board and try to end them fast. Also try to get get Venomizer magnetized to Missile Launcher. If it gets big enough they will never be able to clean it and you win. Another technique is by flooding the board with Goblin Bombs and Mossy Horror the bombs + his board. They don't really run any heal, so if you can get them low you might be able to kill them before they can combo you.
If you run into a lot of there consider to run two Mossy Horror.
Nomi 70/30
Just build a very strong lead. Only clear their Northshire Cleric, Wild Pyromancer, Acolyte of Pain and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Try to get a VERY large magnetic minions. Finish them before turn 7/8.
Resurrect 70/30
Same as above, just be even more agressive. Only clear if needed. And as before, try to get very big magnetic minions. They have a hard time dealing with that.
Card substitutions
I usual only use the standard list - but if you play late at night or at high legend, you might make some substitutions to counter a specific player. :)
I would not recommend to use the budget options, but if you're very tight on dust, they will properly work out alright. :)
Budget options:
Tech options:
When there is a lot of aggro
When there is a lot of control

Climbed to top 100 legend using an adjusted version of this deck :)
Did you just adjust it according to your own meta or did you make any final changes?

Just took out whirligliders cause I didn't like them much, cut nine lives cause I thought it was a bit too slow for a (mostly) aggro deck and we have enough removal already, also, its not teched against token druids because they are pretty rare at high legend
I will probably continue to edit the deck
Thanks for sharing your version.
Is it teched vs Rogues? Or am I wrong in my assumption?
climbed from rank 14 to rank 4 pretty easily but I don't think this deck goes past that,I mean you can reach legend with it but why bother? warrior, rogue, mage and priest can make you climb a lot faster
Happy to hear you got good result.
But I disagree. It depends on your region and the matchups you'll get. This deck nearly always win vs warrior and controldecks in general. So if you're able to just farm them, it's a pretty easy way to legend. But if the ladder got a lot of rouges / zoo, I would properly switch to control warrior.
But if you want to play the other classes - go ahead. :)
What bothers me is that the deck feels hopeless against rogue (especially if you don't get the coin) + a lot of rogues have Fan of Knives to counter token druid. Great work on the deck tho mate! I feel this is the strongest version of this archetype
Yeah. I know how that feels! It sucks :/
i started using this deck at rank 10, the first day i ended up with 8 wins and 1 lose.
Good to hear friend. Keep up the good work and you'll get legend! :)
