UPDATE 3
Good news everyone! I've perfected the deck! (this wasn't a professor putricide pun but i just read it after i typed it and it was amazing)
This deck is now amazing and craftable. Insane value becomes more insane if you add some tempo too!!!
I think in last 2 days i just pefected the control shaman archetype in this expansion. I've worked hard and it paid off. When i first started this deck my win rate was at %26. Now it's %63 and i count the old games too! Which is incredible.
I explained all the changes except one in the video below and that one is -1 Rain of Toads , +1 Barista Lynchen
Rain of Toads is a good card but it avoids getting my Hagatha's Scheme 's early with Storm Chaser 's and it's terrible. I lost games just because of that.
Barista Lynchen is not a must have card but helps alot. I've had some amazing combos with it. If you are lucky enough she can win you more games!
I'll upload some insane games i've had while i was streaming so go check them out below when they are ready!
Thanks for all the kindness and support! And suggestions! You guys are amazing.
So, after all those likes and good comments, why havent i done a proper guide yet, So here it is!
THEORYCRAFTING PHASE AND MAIN IDEA OF THE DECK:
Some of you may know that there is a really good professional Hearthstone player named Viper. In Rastakhan's Rumble expansion, he joined a HGC tour with a unique and unheard of Control Shaman deck named Peanut Shaman. The deck was so fun and difficult to play and I loved it. Played it alot. So before Rise of Shadows came out, I saw cards like Hagatha's Scheme, Archivist Elysiana and I thought that I can continue Viper's amazing legacy even better! So here it is, the heavy Control Fatigue Value Shaman is here!
Main idea of this deck is stall the game to lategame, then take advantage of late game value from the cards like Swampqueen Hagatha, Archivist Elysiana, Krag'wa, the Frog, Shudderwock and stuff like that.
If the game goes into the Fatigue phase, No one can keep up with your value game and you win.
CARD EXPLANATIONS:
Earth Shock: Who doesn't like a cheap silence? And the infamous Twilight Drake killer!
Omega Mind: Cheaper and more powerful Reno Jackson basically. Use this with Hagatha's Scheme in lategame and see the concede screen from your opponent.
Haunting Visions: It's basically a free spell. You just choose according to the state you are in which is cool. Also a nice combo with Krag'wa, the Frog
Lightning Storm: Nice AoE against aggro decks. Also a good combo with Bloodmage Thalnos
Hex: Classic Removal, Fantastic with Krag'wa, the Frog
Storm Chaser: The most important key card to this deck. It prevents late game dead Hagatha's Scheme draws, and enables Sunreaver Warmage
Hagatha's Scheme: The reason this deck happened
Krag'wa, the Frog: Insane value card. Just one more Hex sometimes means winning instantly. Good combo with Haunting Visions
Swampqueen Hagatha: Insane value card. Good combo with Barista Lynchen [/card]and [card]Shudderwock
Hagatha the Witch: Perfect value generator and good board clear, The heart of the deck.
Walking Fountain: Amazing powehouse, minion remover and survivability.
Shudderwock: This is not a shudderwock deck so i hate when people label this as Shudderwock Shaman. Shudderwock is here to support in every scenario. Good combo with all other battlecry cards. Especially Krag'wa, the Frog
Acidic Swamp Ooze: There are tons of weapons in this meta, it's a must! Good combo with Barista Lynchen and Shudderwock
Bloodmage Thalnos: Cheap draw, Cheap removal support. Amazing.
Doomsayer : Good stall option, amazing against aggro. Fits well with other stall cards.
Proud Defender: Tar Creeper on Steroids. Helps with the board early.
Barista Lynchen: Win condition and almost a tech card against Tesspionage Rogues with Acidic Swamp Ooze value. Otherwise good with Swampqueen Hagatha and all battlecry minions.
Sunreaver Warmage: Great tempo swing in early-mid game and has perfect synergy with our deck.
Zilliax: Necessary card in every control deck.
Archivist Elysiana: Amazing fatigue preventer, bomb removal. Also you can basically rebuild your deck against OTK decks. Brain of the deck.
Saving incase of power outage, I'm continuing this right now
Current state of the deck and the future plans video:
GAME VIDEO FOOTAGE!!!
INSANE EMERISS COULDN'T SAVE HIM FROM MAX VALUE
BARISTA IS INSANE WITH COIN!
ELYSIANA IS NOW ANTI OTK TECH!
FIGHTING AGGRO IS LIKE FIGHTING A MOSQUITO!!!!
0 MANA PYROBLAST TO FACE IN 2019???
Thanks for all the likes and comments, suggestions. This is not the final change, i will update it again and again.
Thanks for everyone who made a video about it, here's the spotlight videos people have done.
Absolutely fantastic deck! Need 150 more wins with shaman for the golden icon and this will help with that quest!
I've been trying out this deck list and haven't had much success with it at all. It seems like its way too easy for my opponent to cheat out a massive board with something like cairne into khadgar and suddenly I lose because my opponent has a full board of midrange minions for 7 mana. Hagatha's scheme can work, but only at that point if I've had it in my hand since turn one. Same thing happens with a resurrect priest, where they get a full board of minions with 12+ health each using a single card, and then play something like divine spirit/inner fire the next turn for an OTK if I can't deal with everything right away.
Have you considered adding more card draw methods to try and get to these cards faster? Maybe adding in spirit of the frog and some more lower cost spells in order to help cycle into answers like hex and hagatha's scheme more easily.
As a side note, Proud Defender seems kind of anti-synergetic with the shaman class, considering how likely it is that we will have one of our totems still alive on the board when its played out. Sunreaver warmage also feels underwhelming, since it's so reliant on getting either hagatha's scheme or a rain of toads to be useful. And even then it just doesn't feel quite good enough.
love it. but, i always overdraw in lategame :D
Love the deck, really fun to play, yet i don't see a good use for shudderwock in this deck, you can get some bad rng with him. also as you want it to be a control deck, against aggro its really weak at the start i always get pressured really fast, most of the times i can recover tho.
Rogues and mages are really tough to beat. against locks you just need to get those taunts and LS to wreck their 1 and 2 drop spam.
So its not in a bad spot at the moment, but i think it can need some more work. we need to see what the meta will bring tho.
Shudderwock is there because there are not enough legendaries in the deck
I'm seeing Mind Control Tech being a good fit in here with the current meta being very aggro oriented. Also what happens with Shudderwock and Archivist Elysiana? Does it just put copies of the same picked cards in your deck and could it target your opponents deck? Very curious about those two combined.
Friend, can you give me some advice vs bomb warrior?
I play everything properly, but even if i survive his bombs he plays archivist and wins because his 50 armor advantage
Wait for a bunch of bombs to be in your deck, and then play Archivist Elysiana
That's not the point. The point is you can't kill them
Against bomb warrior, unless your deck is really full of bombs and you feel that you will die for sure if your opponent drops a dr.7, or if the bomb-to-deck ratio has reached an unreasonable number (about 1:3 and up), you do not play your archivist until your deck is empty. Take your time when it comes to spending your resources: you're playing a fatigue deck, so you will only win if you out-fatigue the other guy (unless it's aggro, in which case the goal is to survive the many waves of minions that your opponent will throw at you).
First question to ask at each turn: can my opponent kill me? yes---> prevent that in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. no---> you're fine, don't throw away your precious heals/board clears or any of your win conditions. Think ahead: think about the plays you can make in the next 2 or 3 turns while always considering what is most cost-effective.
Also, don't worry about armor. Fatigue shaman has 2x more sustain than bomb warrior. As long as you make them take enough fatigue damage, you're good. Just play your cards well to last in fatigue. Don't hesitate to tech in a second Acidic Swamp Ooze if you encounter a lot of warriors or rogues.
Sucks vrs agro decks. Died to rogue and warlock like 1 turn before I could turn it around...
Druid is hard because it doesnt matter how many times you clear the board they just spam the board with tokens. Aggro/Tepo rogue is one of the easiest match ups, tesspionage rogue is a bad matchup.
Warlock is the eaasiest match up after secret paladin i dont undersand how you are losing. You should save your schemes and hexes, its just it. in late game your heal is amazing.
This is not a deck to pick up and just play. It's really dificult. It was originally Viper's deck which is famous for being hardest deck in Rastakhan expansion.
I hope you understand the mechanics and decision makings soon and get a better win rate
*if you get unlucky and don't draw any AOE
Hello, thanks for the great tips and deck. I'm building a very similar deck, and would like to know your opinion about these cards:
Menacing Nimbus, Sludge Slurper and Unseen Saboteur.
There are other decks similar to mine running those cards, but they are more tempo oriantated, I'm actually playing a deck like odd warrior which I can't afford to put stuff like that. Thanks for the suggestions
I have very little experience with control Shaman decks, but I bellieve a Mojomaster Zihi would be a very good tech card in this deck if the presence of OTK decks such as Mechatun becomes stronger on ladder. Any thoughts on that?
There are not enough OTK decks on ladder right now, at least they are not threats like others. When that time comes Of course i will add stuff according to it.
Also Elysiana can easily get at least one of the combo breaker cards.
Still crushed by warrior:(
Warrior match up is almost even, but i think my shammy is a little bit favoured especially after i put Barista Lynchen
