UPDATE 3
Good news everyone! I've perfected the deck! (this wasn't a professor putricide pun but i just read it after i typed it and it was amazing)
This deck is now amazing and craftable. Insane value becomes more insane if you add some tempo too!!!
I think in last 2 days i just pefected the control shaman archetype in this expansion. I've worked hard and it paid off. When i first started this deck my win rate was at %26. Now it's %63 and i count the old games too! Which is incredible.
I explained all the changes except one in the video below and that one is -1 Rain of Toads , +1 Barista Lynchen
Rain of Toads is a good card but it avoids getting my Hagatha's Scheme 's early with Storm Chaser 's and it's terrible. I lost games just because of that.
Barista Lynchen is not a must have card but helps alot. I've had some amazing combos with it. If you are lucky enough she can win you more games!
I'll upload some insane games i've had while i was streaming so go check them out below when they are ready!
Thanks for all the kindness and support! And suggestions! You guys are amazing.
So, after all those likes and good comments, why havent i done a proper guide yet, So here it is!
THEORYCRAFTING PHASE AND MAIN IDEA OF THE DECK:
Some of you may know that there is a really good professional Hearthstone player named Viper. In Rastakhan's Rumble expansion, he joined a HGC tour with a unique and unheard of Control Shaman deck named Peanut Shaman. The deck was so fun and difficult to play and I loved it. Played it alot. So before Rise of Shadows came out, I saw cards like Hagatha's Scheme, Archivist Elysiana and I thought that I can continue Viper's amazing legacy even better! So here it is, the heavy Control Fatigue Value Shaman is here!
Main idea of this deck is stall the game to lategame, then take advantage of late game value from the cards like Swampqueen Hagatha, Archivist Elysiana, Krag'wa, the Frog, Shudderwock and stuff like that.
If the game goes into the Fatigue phase, No one can keep up with your value game and you win.
CARD EXPLANATIONS:
Earth Shock: Who doesn't like a cheap silence? And the infamous Twilight Drake killer!
Omega Mind: Cheaper and more powerful Reno Jackson basically. Use this with Hagatha's Scheme in lategame and see the concede screen from your opponent.
Haunting Visions: It's basically a free spell. You just choose according to the state you are in which is cool. Also a nice combo with Krag'wa, the Frog
Lightning Storm: Nice AoE against aggro decks. Also a good combo with Bloodmage Thalnos
Hex: Classic Removal, Fantastic with Krag'wa, the Frog
Storm Chaser: The most important key card to this deck. It prevents late game dead Hagatha's Scheme draws, and enables Sunreaver Warmage
Hagatha's Scheme: The reason this deck happened
Krag'wa, the Frog: Insane value card. Just one more Hex sometimes means winning instantly. Good combo with Haunting Visions
Swampqueen Hagatha: Insane value card. Good combo with Barista Lynchen [/card]and [card]Shudderwock
Hagatha the Witch: Perfect value generator and good board clear, The heart of the deck.
Walking Fountain: Amazing powehouse, minion remover and survivability.
Shudderwock: This is not a shudderwock deck so i hate when people label this as Shudderwock Shaman. Shudderwock is here to support in every scenario. Good combo with all other battlecry cards. Especially Krag'wa, the Frog
Acidic Swamp Ooze: There are tons of weapons in this meta, it's a must! Good combo with Barista Lynchen and Shudderwock
Bloodmage Thalnos: Cheap draw, Cheap removal support. Amazing.
Doomsayer : Good stall option, amazing against aggro. Fits well with other stall cards.
Proud Defender: Tar Creeper on Steroids. Helps with the board early.
Barista Lynchen: Win condition and almost a tech card against Tesspionage Rogues with Acidic Swamp Ooze value. Otherwise good with Swampqueen Hagatha and all battlecry minions.
Sunreaver Warmage: Great tempo swing in early-mid game and has perfect synergy with our deck.
Zilliax: Necessary card in every control deck.
Archivist Elysiana: Amazing fatigue preventer, bomb removal. Also you can basically rebuild your deck against OTK decks. Brain of the deck.
Saving incase of power outage, I'm continuing this right now
Current state of the deck and the future plans video:
GAME VIDEO FOOTAGE!!!
INSANE EMERISS COULDN'T SAVE HIM FROM MAX VALUE
BARISTA IS INSANE WITH COIN!
ELYSIANA IS NOW ANTI OTK TECH!
FIGHTING AGGRO IS LIKE FIGHTING A MOSQUITO!!!!
0 MANA PYROBLAST TO FACE IN 2019???
Thanks for all the likes and comments, suggestions. This is not the final change, i will update it again and again.
Thanks for everyone who made a video about it, here's the spotlight videos people have done.
how do you think this deck will hold up after the nerfs? Obviously the nerf to Elysiana will not hurt the deck much, I was mainly referring to how the meta will shift, and if you think the deck will get better, or worse matchups.
I will experimenter some, but I would like to hear what you have to say about how good you think the deck is after the nerfs.
So... which legendaries are key? I'm missing 4 of them (Elysana, Barista, The Frog and Swampqueen Hagatha) and only have dust for 2.
I've been running without Barista and Elysana and it works just fine. Maybe swap the frog for Barista, but the bonus Hex etc are nice. (and repeated by Shudderwock). Elysana is there for the Long Res priests and Bomb/control warrior match ups, i dont run it and hgave lost a few games that this would have won for me, when we are both drawing dead.
I've been running a similar version to this at around rank 15, and have been having a lot of success! I'm having to play a slightly budget version, but I used this as a jumping off point and it's become my favorite deck. A few suggestions I have for people at lower ranks:
I run a second Acidic Swamp Ooze, which I find saves me a lot of headaches. Weapons are everywhere right now, and having many answers is great. I also run a Baleful Banker. We're a fatigue deck, and he lets us go super deep with double Archivist Elysiana, and can be used to double up on a big minion like Swampqueen Hagatha or Walking Fountain if we're against a more midrange opponent. I also run 2 Hecklebots, but I'm planning on cutting one once I get my own Shudderwock. Also, just because I hate control and combo decks, I've got a single Sinister Saboteur.
As for cuts, I don't run Krag'wa, the Frog or Barista Lynchen. I just don't think they fit the deck well enough. I also don't run Shudderwock (and with the harmful battlecries I could see an argument not to) and Zilliax (for budget reasons, sadly). All in all, you get something like this:
And it's working well for me!
Confused why no one is running Beakered Lightning, feels like an auto-include for me over Earth Shock right now
I hope you understand that these two you mentioned are two absolutely different cards and with all due respect, your change is moronic.
I've played about 30 games on EU rank 4-5. I can say this... It is weak against token druid unless you're extremely lucky. MechWar will beat you in fatigue battle. Semi-Fair against mage unless RNG gets crazy. Strong versus warlock and rogue but not much of these in current meta.
Zentimo and second Rain of Toads helps against token druid but pointless vs. mechwar. I've kicked out Shudderwock as it is often deadcard for the entire game. Replaced by Baleful Banker as it gives more control over card generation from Archivist Elysiana. Bonus is that it adds her to the deck instead of hand extending the fatigue run by one round and not blocking cardslot in hand (Bewitch is tricky enough)
Overall the deck is fun at the begining but it gets more and more frustrating with each lost 40min fatig game against Warrior or 3min zergswarm from druid...
"It is weak against token druid unless you're extremely lucky."
I just won 4 matches in a row vs only token. Changed a few cards tho.
Wow.. A deck thats powerful AND fun??. Just wow
Lol thanks for the list!
Is this deck good in Wild?
Ha, nice timing!
I spent my gold and got a few packs right before I aimed to make this deck and wouldn't you just know it, good ol' Swampqueen Hagatha was in my fourth and final pack.
This deck looks as if it'll be fun to play.
I don't have Barista yet but have been using Ysera in her place in the mean time. Works quite well.
Guys, I’ve put all my dust and hope in this deck. I kept trying to find the best version of it and those are my findings!
The version on this page is good, it can beat almost anything if played right, but pretty bad vs token Druid and the big mage or the random legendaries that warlock gets.
That’s why there are some must cards you need:
For token Druid -> mossy horror, you can replace the toads spell with it
For the ‘big boys’ -> replace barista with zentimo, being able to triple hex is a must have; triple earth shock can help you lots too vs token Druid
Barista, as most of you said in the comments, is dead most of the matches.
And keep that new healing card for 20 health - can easly save you vs bomb warrior if you’re unlucky with the other healings
(Sorry for not using the exact names and making a fancy comment, I suck at remembering names and I’m on my phone)
Great revision of the deck! 75% win rate in rank 5 so far!
I prefer your version. I usually play control decks, cause can't stand the aggro pest. Didn't play shaman for a while now....but boy this deck is so worth it the 7k dust I was missing to complete it! So much fun!
This deck is unbearably shit against token druid, which is coincidentally the highest winrate and most-commonly used deck.
Edit: You can never get the right cards when you need them because there are so few duplicates. This deck is unplayable in 90% of the common matchups. Do not play this list.
So I guess you just can't adapt.
I faced the same problem as you did losing to I think 4 straight token druids then I thought what I could change to push me over the edge because the losses where not that one sided.
I made 2 simple changes and now I'm 9-1 vs token druids.
Took out the thalnos and a storm chaser and put in a sludge slurper and most importantly a mossy horror!
So many possible combos it's really rough to lose anymore.
To name some
Mossy + barista storm next turn
Storm then kragwa next turn
And btw the slurper is not too shabby.. it gives you something to do in the first turns and almost all of the lackeys where useful.
Hope I helped
( All of these game are around rank 8-6)
Phenomenal deck. I’ve made a couple of substitutions, which seem to work well for me. I’ve removed the Proud Defenders, Doomsayers, Barista Lynchen and 1x Haunting Visions for Zentimo, 1x Likkim, 2x Far Sight, 1x Witch’s Brew and 1x Mossy Horror. Feels unstoppable!
I +++++ that mossy horror. It's much needed for the druid deck.
It's not even the same deck list smh
