- Ahoy mateys! -
- I welcome you to one of my all-time favourite decklists -
- This is a fresh and wild Even/Pirate-rogue I've been brewing on with some of the newer pirates and also Captain Hooktusk -
- It is quite effective if you aim for face and crippling your opponents attack by always keeping their minions down to atleast 1 less than you have -
- But generally this deck is pretty straight-forward, keeping your board-control up to get the most powerful Cannon Barrage possible and hammering your opponent down as fast as possible -
- Note that Cannon Barrage can hit stealthed targets, which means plays like Valeera the Hollow can be hit through the stealth -
Video of gameplay made by Tommy_Wave is found below:
- 71% winrate through 110 matches 78/32 so far at Rank 9 in Wild Play March 2019 -
- Who can tell how this competes in ranked after Rise of Shadows launch? -
- Feel free to discuss and comment below -
- :o)
- Ended up using Dread Corsair and Southsea Squidface in this final version instead of Fal'dorei Strider and Elven Minstrel and/or Phantom Freebooter -
- Did it to max out me pirates for Cannon Barrage and Ship's Cannon with the best results seen yet -
- Have fun!
- :o)
- So...
- I've taken this deck for quite a few spins now and have come to the conclusion that Elven Minstrel is the best card to go with instead of Phantom Freebooter which I've uploaded this deck containing -
- Elven Minstrel is a great utility in drawing cards but also has great synergy with Fal'dorei Strider and Cursed Castaway -
- Over 25 matches both ranked and friendly I've achieved a winrate of 80% so far with this build -
- I have yet to try some runs with Southsea Squidface which is my 2nd best choice since I think that more pirates would be better than Tinker's Sharpsword Oil even though it would implement more combo-cards because of the synergy with Cannon Barrage and Captain Hooktusk -
- Perhaps I should edit this deck to its final revision with Elven Minstrel or should I leave it as is with the comments and suggestions and let people decide themselves? -
- What do you guys think? -
- Elven Minstrel vs. Southsea Squidface -
- :o)
Very efficient deck. Ship's Cannon is the MVP imo.
- Thank you -
- Ship's Cannon is awesome in this deck, I think -
- :o)
As someone who tried Even Rogue before, I would recommend Dread Corsair over Phantom Freebooter, mostly because the benefit of either is minimal, but Corsair allows you to ocasionally bridge the turn 3 mana gap more conveniently and also provides some protection. 3-mana 3/3 with taunt is better than a vanilla 4_mana 4/4
- Dread Corsair could be strong in this deck yeah -
- :o)
Wild isn't something I play a lot of, but this deck looked so sweet I just had to take it for a spin at rank 20. Lots of fun, check out the games over here;
(Games start at 2:18)
Would love to get your thoughts on changing Phantom Freebooter over to Southsea Squidface or possibly getting another combo card in the list (Tinker's maybe?). Cheers and thanks for sharing another awesome list!
- Thanks dude, nice video! -
- I have embedded it in the deck -
. Phantom Freebooter is an odd choice in this even deck yeah, but Southsea Squidface could work fine, as you suggested -
- You might wanna also consider Elven Minstrel too as it is combo and works well with Fal'dorei Strider and Cursed Castaway -
- :o)
how is this mate? looks very interesting and I love me some pirates.
I am hoping to drop hookface or whatever asap from packs and then I can have a go at one of these newer pirate decks.
I was really hoping for a booty bay expac to hit, but I think rasta mon has quenched my thirst a little at least (lets hop for booty bay this summer though)
anyway dude. I'm missing the canon barrages and hooktusk. are the barrages key to the deck you think? (obviously hooktusk is needed otherwise stuff like ticket scalper is useless)
EDIT:
surplus to requirements.
- I also have been loving pirates since the beginning -
- Through the times I've had all sorts of pirate-decks, but I've found this reasonably competitive in ranked play at the time -
- It can be played without Captain Hooktusk and Cannon Barrage if you need to, just atleast use Elven Minstrel instead and maybe perhaps The Lich King -
- :o)
- Might I ask why friend? -
- :o)
I'm not sure what you're asking?
I was asking about the deck as it looks pretty cool and hooktusk and canon barrage were cards i was thinking about crafting when I have the dust anyway.
If you mean the post I redacted. it was because I thought you didn't have ticket scalper after I mentioned it, then realized you did. so the post was pointless.
- Oh yeah that's cool -
- I do know that the editing posts part of the site-design could use a little friendly update -
- I would definetely strongly recommend going for crafting the Captain Hooktusk and Cannon Barrage cards when you can if you love your pirates like I do -
- Naga Corsair and Ticket Scalper could be switched with Elven Minstrel which also have synergies with Cursed Castaway, but you could go full pirate and switch around Fal'dorei Strider with some of these excellent 4 mana cards -
- :o)
yeah faldorei is the only card I'm not too sure on. maybe with it being an even deck it is the best option though. not as many choices for even as there is for odd.
- You could go for more pirates instead -
- :o)
still need those epic cannons and the legendary pirate though before it's worth building. lucky they are all from the same set at least so can just start opening packs with gold each day and hope for the best.
- Good luck -
